Yes. I think that was about 2 weeks later iirc (I’m East too) I was only little and my dad was on the tv with Lockerbie, took it to the military base then it was onto the storage facility. He was an aircraft recovery specialist but usually did stuff abroad or at least went away for a week or so when he worked. We rarely had local stuff. I can remember it coming on the news about kegworth and just being really frightened and sad. It was suddenly more than my dad going away to work, it was like work was coming here. That was about the same time when the plane crashed on the road near our airport here in the East Midlands.
Thats one of the only things I’ve ever read that has turned my stomach. Harrowing. Also the recent one about the necropheliac who abused 100 bodies, including one of a 9 year old child. Gut wrenching.
I remember this. I was having my hair done and picked up the Sun to read while I was waiting. I could barely hold back the tears as the hairdresser was chatting to me. I collapsed in sobs when I got home. It was very downplayed too due to the sensitive circumstances. The murder of Kris Donald. I was only young at the time but I remember crying when I read all of the horrific details. I still get a knot in my stomach when I think about it.
I heard a voice note that’s going round on WhatsApp about this earlier today and didn’t believe it until I read that link!In Ireland,
A man who was supposedly deceased for up to 2 days, was yesterday brought to the post office by a relative and the relatives friend (supposedly with addiction issues) to collect the deceased persons pension (approx €200) . The person who served them realised the man was clearly not well and the gardai and emergency services were called.
It'd like Weekend at Bernie's.

I think of this every time I walk past that spot by Queen Street station. My heart always goes out to the poor woman that lost her daughter and her parents in just a few moments and only survived herself because she happened to stop to take cash out. Can't even imagine the family's heartacheOne that sticks with me is the bin lorry crashing into & killing people, in George Square (Glasgow) it was 2 or 3 days before Christmas. To read of the families of the victims was devastating what they were facing at such a time of year.
I initially felt sorry for the driver until finding out he shouldn't have been working in the first place, he hadn't declared issues which mightve prevented what happened.
