Dropped my eldest at school today and Mousse T vs Hot and Juicy was on the radio ...he said what's vs?, I said versus and he said like a fight?, shouldn't it be featuring?.

I then had to go on to explain that everyone was versus someone in the 90s and no I have no idea why 🤪.

This has always confused me too!

I was born in 1984 so I dont know how many WC there has been but I remember scotland being there for France 98 as I was 14.

Watching films I first saw when I was a child/teen and now being older - sometimes much older as many were cast young for the role - than the actors who played the parents in them!

The local Indian restaurant doesn't give peppermint with the bill but instead gives werthers.
Husband said take your sweets and I refused saying to him "they are pensioners sweets, I'm not taking them" (I am in my late 60s!!)

I did actually like to eat werthers as a teen but my taste must have changed because a few years down the line I found them far too sickly and stopped.

I saw that banana clips were making a come back, first time around these were a total fail for me as my hair was that thick the clip just sprang apart. This time, no such problem 😭.

I’m so used to every time I go to certain built up places with one of my parents, they’ll at some point say ‘ I remember when this all used to be fields’
Yesterday I was passing a place I used to live. They’re building loads of apartments and I said it. I said ‘my god. That used to be all fields’
🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
I feel like I’m officially ‘back in my day’ old 😫😫

The amount of conversations I’m having (starting) about the selfishness of people, the lack of manners and respect these days.

Friends child (she's 8/9) moaning because she's not allowed a phone until she's in secondary school and isn't allowed social media

At which point I realised I never had those things at her age because they didn't exist (I was 11 in 2000 when mobile phones were starting to get popular/

Agree, but I've also noticed more people actually speaking up and calling people out recently which can only be a good thing. I think people have just had enough of it now and maybe the hot weather is making people less tolerant of those with a bad case of main character syndrome.

I just subconsciously selected my grey slippers because it's raining.
This made me realise I have warm weather & cold weather colour options 🫢

I think this extremely sensible!. Not old just muscle memory....

We had a downpour today, it went very dark and without a thought I lit a candle and flicked on some fairy lights I have wound around a book shelf 😁.

I'm doing my first watch through of The Golden Girls in a long time and it's still a shock that they are not pensioners. It's the hair and clothing, especially the hair. They look so old.

What made me feel old was one of them saying she was 55... I'm going to be 43 in the coming weeks and 55 doesn't seem far away at all. I remember when even 50 was like this impossible age I could never imagine being.

Time and fashion are so weird. :ROFLMAO:

When I think back to what mums wore when I was at school it was all A line skirts and headscarves. When I was at primary school I vividly recall seeing an advert for jeans featuring an older lady with grey hair. I remember how shocked I felt at the time, then thought why shouldn't older ladies wear jeans? And here I am in my sixties still living in my skinny jeans.
