when buskers look at you directly midway through a song, sometimes they throw in a wink. Makes me so nervous, I don't know what they want me to do with this eye contact?! I wrote this because it just happened to me approximately 2 mins ago on the metro 🙃
It's just like performers at a formal venue looking at the audience and smiling. It's just a way of creating a sense of rapport. A busker is just more likely to chance to single out a particular person because their audience is more sparsely massed.

Another baby related thing.

seen so many girls who have done a kylie jenner ‘inspired video’ to their babies when they have been born.

UTTER cringe.

Going to upset people but...Baby showers. No exceptions. Get your own tit for your own baby. Such an obnoxious concept from across the pond. I have been to a LOT of baby showers and only 2 were remotely enjoyable. Generally they awkward day time non boozy affairs. Invariably the mum to be wears white or some floral arrangement in their hair like some pure maiden. And I could never go to meet a new baby without taking a gift so I’ve therefore had to get 2 gifts.

Then when people have the nerve to have another shower for their 2nd baby. That’s seen as poor etiquette even in the states. Room 101 for this nonsense. The flower walls and the props my god why do people do it, it’s so cringe
I ended up having to get THREE baby gifts for a friend of mine (I was a bigger fool to do it) She had a baby shower which was gift number one, then as you said I wasn't going to go empty handed when the baby was born so that was another gift, then she had the baby christened and had a massive party (pre covid days) for 'the baby' so that was present number three. 'The baby' didn't have a clue what was happening, so the party was most definitely not for her

Yeh christening your baby when you aren’t religious can go in the bin as well. I’ve had a few friends where I’ve had to do the triple whammy shower/newborn/christening

My mum agreed to be godmother to my parents' friends' son. That was a joke. my mother wasn't religious; they only saw these long-distance friends people two or three times a year and as the child grew, Mum thought he was an obnoxious cat!

Kinda in keeping with baby showers but hen dos. For the love of god how have they become so ridiculous????
Like the bride is queen bee and gets showered with gifts and money and hen dos are now weekends spent in a cottage with crappy sleeping arrangements with half of the girls you don't give a tit about and will never see again. And there is always always a few witches.
Everyone feels pressured to have to pay. The last god awful hen do my friend invited 40 girls, it was going to cost over 500 quid each and no guarantee of a bed. The bride went ape tit because I didn't want to go because it was ridiculously expensive and in the middle of no where. Happy days. And then it's that awkward time at the wedding where you know you spent 2 days with this person but you don't give two people but you have to say hello in the knowledge neither of you will ever see each other again or be friends.

A hen do should be a few drinks and a meal out with no pressure of gift or giving up a weekend with forced fun. Those who want a boozy night out clubbing can go on whilst others can pay for their meal and go home.

Some people fly to Ibiza for the weekend just to get drunk and prat about with giant inflatable penises!

Totally agree. Hen dos should be dominating no more than one day, never a weekend. Have been to a few abroad. The worst is when the hen do is abroad and then the wedding is abroad separate. Seriously? People need to get over themselves and realise they aren’t the centre of the universe. They always caveat “I understand if people can’t make it” and then witch about people that “didn’t make the effort”

Liars, I bleeping hate liars, I'd rather have a thief wrapped round me than a liar . .

People who post rank looking pictures of their food and think they're a michelin star chef 🤣

People who bake a few crusty looking brownies or "cupcakes" and think they can run a business from it . .
OMG liars. Absolute snap. You know what is weird though? It's like I'm the only one who can see through most liars and others totally buy into what they're saying. Outrageous lies!

I've got a girl on FB who uploads a dramatic video every week of her baby with an emotional message everytime. 'Happy 11 weeks baby boy. You have CHANGED MY LIFE. I didnt know I could love.. until you came along..'

'Happy 12 weeks baby boy... I love you more this week than I did last week..'

'13 weeks baby boy... I cant believe it... soon you're gonna be... 14 weeks'

She uses the same pictures for the video as well. Like come on love
Have a week off

Agree so so so much. I mean I hope I won't turn into a bridezilla when I get married and I like to think if I want a huge deal then I'd pay for it but yeah hen parties getting ridiculous....baby showers too. Each baby shower costs me at least 40 quid and that's not including a gift/money collection when baby is born!

Yep. Also the aghast reactions from relatives when you tell them you wont be having a christening. " No christening!? Oh you've got to have them christened!"

I just don't care about anyone's baby on Instagram or Facebook. I couldn't careless unless you're family or a close friend. Stop posting all these intrusive, personal pics of your kids.... No one cares.

I'm going to hell

Not sure if this has been mentioned, I haven’t read all the thread yet. But people who replace words with emojis in the middle of a sentence.
Also, when they say ‘brought’ instead of bought
Valentimes instead of Valentines
Dressing down instead of gown

I don’t mind baby showers when they’re relaxed. I’ve been to a few where they’re over the top, military operations - I can’t stand having to play cringey games with people I barely know and being ordered about with “half 2 we’re having games, 3 we’re watching mum open the presents, no one touch the food until 4”.

It’s much nicer to go along, have a drink and some food and just chat to people!

Ahah yeah, and then after making eye contact you either try and fumble around in your pocket for cash or more likely have to do the awkward walk past them without giving money.
