I got 54% but I think that's only because I chose rugby (for the rugby players) and married into a family with a family crest.

I think it's relative really. I know people who own horses but I'd never in a million years call them posh. It's really hard to actually say what I think is posh as everytime I think of something I think "oh no, so and so does that and they're not posh" etc

There are people I work with who like to think they're posh because they live in the expensive villages in the East Riding and shop at Waitrose but come on mate, you practically grew up in Hull, you aren't fooling anyone when you open your mouth and that accent comes out. These people don't know what posh is!!
I've lived in Hull my whole life, and once got called posh for saying lunch instead of dinner. I suppose it's a low bar where I live.

Coloured socks on men especially pastel hues are posh.

I know about a dozen of Oxbridge grads, all very smart and hard working, but none of them are posh.

You're not proper posh unless you were born with your own hyphenated surname, have no discernible chin, were breastfed by a wet nurse not your mother, stepped straight out of the school where you've just spent 12 years being relentlessly bummed by the rugger captain into a City job that you're manifestly unqualified to do, people around you regard your c addiction and sexual predation as amusing quirks, you inherited all your furniture and when you marry your cousin it gets a two page spread in Tatler, not an outraged headline in The Sun.
Be fair, if you live in one of those big posh houses in Swanland that is quite posh. Even with the Hull accent.

Haha! I'm surprised I got 18% tbh but I suppose having been to the races & the opera did that. It's not totally accurate though. I certainly did go to a state comprehensive but I spent my childhood riding a hand-me-down bike through every ginnel in Manchester and my teenage years drinking cider in the cemetery. Still got into Cambridge though and left with a tidy First so I'm no stranger to poshery and the insipidity it engenders.
No that's not posh. That's being "All brass and no class." Very different things.

Really formal people even with their closest family there always polite and just like professional even at home that’s just what I’ve noticed...
They tend to not like many comforts in my view like will just wear a thin jumper or shirt in the house and will wear jeans in the house which I could never do so uncomfy and no socks ever for some reason ... I
wear my tracky bottoms bed socks and dressing gown the minute I’m home
They tend to not over indulge too like have one cup of t or only one biscuit where as I would have like four cups of tea in a row and half a pack of biscuits
Ermmm they wear those green and tartan sort of coats which don’t look warm at all lol.
they don’t seem friendly with strangers but are with there own friends if that makes sense where as working class people I’ve noticed will chat to anyone an stuff...
They tend to dress down in a way like there children will wear very plain clothes an wear them a lot even tho they could afford more (that’s not a diss as I don’t condone waste just an observation that working class people tend to dress their kids in more of a variety an more fashionable)

Also I don’t think a lot of money makes you posh it can just make you rich but some rich people are posh because of how they act. I do think u need money to act posh tho I think!

Now, this is the thing about how the goalposts have shifted over the years for poshness. Back in my younger days anyone was thought to be posh if they had a colour TV, I kid you not. Then people were thought to be posh if they went to Spain for their jollies, or even owned a car!
Nowadays I think the word posh has been replaced by snob, or prude. And my definition would be someone who is stuck up and looks down on folk.
. There's nothing else to it really any more.
I knew someone who I considered 'posh'. She would eat apples and pears with a dessert knife and fork !
