What do you want to rant about today? #42

GoOutdoors & their £5 "annual membership fee"
Millets, Blacks & GoOutdoors I found are all the same company, I was buying a backpack mainly for work, the bag was the same price in GoOutdoors & Millets, but buying from Go required joining for a £5er.
You get absolutely zero benefits for giving them your £5 just their bogus 2-price tag on an item nonsense.
What an absolute scam.

Yes I have heard that this can happen out of the blue. They've gone down a bit but inside still swollen, they're were the best strawberries I had tasted too 😕
Maybe they're sprayed with something. I wash mine in citric acid powder to get all the nasties out and clean them. I never used to until it was pointed out to me.
I should buy organic as I think someone told me to do due to them being "sprayed".🤔

Thought I'd watch some tennis from Queens, the loud music they play between sets is horrendous, so switched to the ladies tennis from Nottingham, still playing music although not so loud, so I've given up . Bring on Wimbledon I say !

More of a AITA?

There's a big backstory to this, but would you be upset if your gran had been giving your cousins a few hundred £s week and you got nothing? But the worst thing is your own father is the one getting the money from the bank to give to them and he's lied about it? I have proof this has been happening for years (it amounts to 10s of thousands)
It's not the money, it's the fact that I've been lied to, and my grandparents always openly favoured my cousins and have indulged them all their lives (time, energy, school pick-ups, sleepovers, holidays, gifts etc and I was lucky if they just took an interest in me when I visited). My dad has said for years that because we're not part of that *named* family we will never get a look in. So why would he help her do this?

The consultant did think there may be a correlation between this and the fact I've hayfever. That perhaps my immune system got overwhelmed from an incident and left it constantly on high alert. I'm not sure but there are always antihistamines with me and I read labels like they're going out of fashion. Quick tip to those with strawberry issues - avoid anything that just says berry. They're usually mixed in.
So interesting. I wonder this about my son's hayfever. He never had it then one day 2 years ago when he was at his friend's house the mum gave them a quid to clean up cut grass for an hour (child labour much?!) and he came back in bits, sneezing and red eyes. He has had quite bad hayfever ever since, it drives him mad. I wonder if similar happened to him. I can't stand the mum so I'll blame her anyway!!

I laughed at your blaming of the mum and to be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if that incident did cause him to get it. There are places where you can get your hayfever lessened, I believe.

My body might go the other way so I'm not going for it but as he's younger than me, it might work.

Possibly, they were from a farm in Norfolk,so I really should of maybe soaked them or something but they just looked so nice, and started eating them immediately.

My nephew took in an England flag in school today over the victory of England's win last night
The headteacher binned them and called them racist
She won't complain because she's a cat

Sorry but the prices are already identical in Millets as they are in GoOutdoors, there's really no need to give GoOutdoors 5 quid for imaginary discounts.
The websites of both stores are identical.
JD Sports group own them.
Here's what I mean - GoOutdoors are saying you can buy this jacket for £19.97 if you are a paid member, LESS THAN 1/2 PRICE !! Millets offer the same jacket, same price, no £5 fee to be a "member".
Just think how many one-off purchases including that extra £5 from a casual shopper who thinks "oh it's just a £5er to join & I'm getting a bargain here" that GoOutdoors will have coined in.

Millets

Not so much a rant, more of an irritated moan.

There are some boys playing in the street outside. I don't mind this so much, they're not being overly loud, and it's nice that they're away from screens.

However.
One of the boys lives 3 doors down, and his Grandad lives next door. Grandad has given them some bits of wood and they've made a ramp for their bikes and scooters, which they've placed outside our house, and they are riding up and down the footpath and onto the road. The speed limit on our street is 20mph, but there are plenty of idiots who ignore that. None of them are wearing a helmet, and one doesn't even have a shirt on. I'm sitting here waiting for an accident to happen, and I'm expecting to have to rescue an injured child and take them home. I don't even know for definite where the other 2 boys live.

Also, I don't know the ages of the other 2, but the boy who lives on this street has only just turned 6. It's impossible that either his Mum or Grandad can see him from their houses, so nobody is watching these kids. I personally feel that they're a bit young to be playing in the road with nobody watching.

Sounds to me like they’re having a great time

I never watch normal TV, especially the "News".Unfortunately I am on holiday and it happened to be on in the background and I am actually crying and so very angry of what I have just heard and read. That poor baby Preston Davey it's actually made me feel physically sick and I cannot type what I actually want to on here. I am appalled, and so angry to hear the same old excuses and that "reviews and investigations" will be done. Too bleeping late now. Oldham again, wtf do these people in "authority" actually do . I am sickened

We've had builders in doing some work. Was meant to be 4 weeks, were now on week 6 as other trades have let them down. I'm at home most days so have been offering drinks, biscuits and even made bacon buttys a few times or grabbed them something like a sausage roll if I've nipped out (3 of them).

Uber eats turned up at the door at lunch today- they'd ordered a McDonald's (for all of them)and not one thought to ask me if I wanted anything. Told them as much as well and said they can make their own tea and coffee tomorrow. They laughed it off but I'm not going to be so accommodating tomorrow
