Never being more than half an hour away from an historic castle or stately home of some sort.
Fish and chips, sunday roasts, full english breakfasts.
The automatic reaction to a holiday/good news/day off/sunshine is to go to the pub and get pissed.
Yorkshire tea.
Rivalries between counties/cities but you become mates united against someone from a different part of the country/different country.
The Queen.

I lived in a different country for awhile and the things I missed the most -

The tea

The people and how quiet and reserved we are. I lived in the USA. That probably explains a lot!

Sausage rolls

British telly

Our dry sense of humour. When Americans try and emulate our humour they follow up with ‘that was sarcasm by the way, I was being sarcastic 😉’ sort of defeats the object. Us Brits are only truly understood by eachother.

Squash - not a thing in the US

The self deprication and humility

Roast dinners

How small and compact everything is. For some irrational reason though it annoys me when anyone who isn’t British comments on that - ‘oh everything is so small and quaint, it’s so cute’ - shut up.

The scenery, I'm lucky enough to live right by this and get to walk it every day

The humour, love sarcastic humour
Our architecture, especially the old castles
Our pomp and ceremony
Our friendliness
The chocolate
How accessible the majority of the country is in a relatively short space of time. When I was in Australia you'd travel for over 2 hours just to get to a service station.

Tea in general. There’s an amazing selection of different teas in the shops and I always take teabags with me whenever I leave/left the country because I cannot trust their tea.
Never tried Ringtons but have been enjoying Barry’s which is Irish. Also, the wide choice of cheese here.

Free TV in the form of Freeview.

Pubs for eating in.

National Trust membership.

Probably non popular opinion but I love people's attitude. Everyone minds their own business on the tube and trains but you can have a lil chat if you want. Generally people mind their own business and keep their opinions to themselves but boy do they love a good gossip!!

Also I live in England and love it!

Ooh, fish and chips is a good one. And I love chips and gravy or with curry sauce.
Also, not sure if this is just a Scottish thing but I love a macaroni pie.

It was raining here the past few days and I really enjoyed it as it reminded me of the UK. It doesn't rain often where I am

Oh my God. Can't believe I forgot this one...i miss Marks and Spencer! Especially Percy Pigs, Collin Caterpillars and they do these salt and vinegar twist crisps that are AMAZING. Also miss any of their desserts.
I also miss Next. Love their fragrances and candles. Cheap but nice.
I miss good indian restaurants, here in Canada, Indian restaurants are mostly shit. We found one which is ran by Scottish Indian people but it took us about 2 years to find.

Oooh what's a macaroni pie? I've never tried it. Guessing the clue is in the same that it's a pie made of macaroni pasta? Lol

Scottish humour..think Still Game
Scottish friendliness
Scottish way with others, everyone loves the Scottish and Irish, these 2 countries people seem to be the most popular out of the 4 in the UK, no offence to the English and Welsh..I just go on what I have heard
The fact we are a nation of sarcastic and witty cunts
The welfare system..we are so lucky to have this when we need it..some take advantage, yes, but thankfully most don’t..it really is an amazing kingdom we have..

Supermarkets? What is it like instead? Hope you do manage to get back.
I should have clarified that I just miss British supermarkets in general. There are 'normal' supermarkets here, but not as much choice. There's a duopoly with just 2 major supermarket chains. You also can't buy alcohol in a supermarket here, you have to go to a dedicated off-license which is called a bottle shop here in oz.

We miss the giant tesco superstores where you can find everything under one roof, and also waitrose and M&S for treats and quality produce.

Love this thread! So many things...
The rules! And the fact that people follow the rules! From queuing to driving to filling out applications- there's a system in place for everything, everyone follows the system and it all works, which you don't realise until you've left.
Spring time.
Regent's park! And all the stunning parks dotted all over the place.
Early morning runners at 5/6am before starting their work day- I just don't see them in such large numbers anywhere else.
Pret porridge!
Cream tea in the countryside.
Proper television
Waterstones and Foyles
The West End and theatre in general, including Fringe plays
Buskers
Museums and art galleries
I'm sure I have loads more that will come to me.
Pret's porridge is amazing.

This is quite crude...but I think it is hilarious that it is quite acceptable for the word "cunt" to be said amongst friends in the UK, especially Scotland. Here in Canada, if you said it, you'd get punched. Lol.
