What's Mikey Graham like, has anyone met him?

Someone else mentioned Shane Lynch and Esther's marriage, I'd love to know what happened there too. Shane did seem a bit wild in the 90s before he cleaned himself up and met his wife. I think he's a good egg....him and Stephen were very close friends.

Stephen seemed so lovely and it was tragic that he died.

I've no tea on either band.

Didn't like the "poor me" act that Shane Filan did when he went bankrupt. I don't know much about Mark. Nicky seems harmless but is a rubbish Tv presenter and still gets hired and paid handsomely by the Irish state broadcaster. I saw Kian in an airport once and he interacted pleasantly and graciously with fans when approached for a photo, no idea what he's like in private.

I didn’t like that either about Shane Filan. Especially when his whole property thing started because he didn’t like the idea of a bit of land being near his mansion leaving people to possibly gasp see the mansion! (I’ve been to Sligo, I saw his house that he had to give up, all I’ll say is it’s an eyesore) It was never about trying to better his hometown it was about his own ego and his greedy brother got involved.

His wife also went bankrupt a few years later.

I know this will sound very “my third cousin twice removed” but my uncle’s best friend is a retired Garda and was called to Yvonne and Ronan Keating’s home in Malahide more than once for domestic disturbances…. He could be very handsy apparently. Never did like him once I heard that.

Met Westlife as a 12 year old in Great Ormond Street, you’d think by that they’d have to be nice, majority of them weren’t so, Shane definitely didn’t want to be there and made no secret of that. Mark was the loveliest and seemed most genuine followed by Kian. Bryan and Nicky pleasant but going through the motions.

A few years ago, I was in a nightclub in Dublin and there was a vip area near the smoking area. I was after a few drinks and was just standing bear the door into said vip area. The bouncer was like "you can't go in Westlife don't want to be disturbed "
I said "don't worry, tell me when actual musicians turn up"

I was team Boyzone, never liked Ronan outside of being a band member though even as a child there must be something about him.

Went to many Boyzone concert and saw the original WestLife lineup as their support act in the mid-late nineties.

Back then Boyzone felt so huge i never would of thought “the bleeper Boyzone, WestLife” would have become way more successful and lasted longer.

Seems to be less egos in WestLife? (After Brian the one big walking ego himself left )I grew out of being too interested in them after flying without wings, i think i became a teenager and discovered garage music i thought i was too cool or something!

Have to say i did loved seeing Mark on the masked singer recently, always seemed a really decent bloke.

my dd worked in a big hotel in Blackpool after leaving school and quite a lot of stars stayed there who were doing shows etc. She accidentally ended up in a lift complete with her cleaning trolley ( she cleaned the rooms) with a visibly horrified Ronan Keating and his minder. She said he made her feel like some kind of sub human just for being a cleaner and having audacity to be in same lift as him. His minder stopped the lift so she could get out even though it wasn't her floor. She was so furious she looked at him and said 'Shumthing' to say Ronan' in reference to how he pronounces 'something' in the opening line of 'When the going gets tough'. He complained to the management but my dd beat him to it and resigned as was leaving soon anyway.

I went to a Gary Barlow concert (no judging) at the Royal Albert Hall in 1997.

Afterwards my mum said we could wait outside to see if I could get an autograph, it appears there was a bit of a get together inside and a few pop stars of the time came out like 911 (one of which was inviting me back to his- I looked older but, still) and someone no one will remember called Connor Reeves who was lovely.

Everyone has had a drink but it seemed pretty tame.

Then Boyzone came out (minus Mikey) and had probably drunk a bit more, Stephen Gately couldn't stand or really talk and was almost carried to the car.

I asked politely for an autograph (there was a max of 10 people waiting) and they went mental shouting why should they? I wasn't at their concert and they weren't getting any money or anything from it.

I was shocked and just said nothing, and my mum said to just ignore them they were just being silly because they'd had a few drinks.

They then all got into the car / people carrier.

After 5 mins or so the window rolls down and RK calls over to me and says they're sorry, it's just a bit late and they were wrong, come over and they'll sign my programme.

I went over and had to lean into the window to hand my book to him at which point whilst cackling he presses the button to shut the window on my head.

At which point my mum walked over, made sure I was ok, opened the door and punched him straight in the face.

They deffo are a miserable bunch, at least they we’re both times I met them. Only nice one was Nicky. Kian said hello. The others couldn’t even say hello. Horrible way to treat their fans they knew had camped out overnight on the streets in Glasgow in November to see them!
After that and how vile Shane was at his own signings I swiftly went off them after that.

My hubby worked as an assistant manager in a bar years ago 911 were touring back in the day were dancing on his tables he didn't know who the guys were thought they were causing trouble and he took 3 of them and chucked them out he told me he didn't know who they were back then turned out hubbys boss forgot to tell him they were doing an act in the pub the trouble my husband got in

You know the saying never meet your idols you'll be dissapointed!

I've met both Westlife and Boyzone Westlife were stiff as cardboard and only Shane, Keith,Mikey,Stephen actually signed my poster in the 90s Ronan ducked off and Keith said sorry for his rudeness
