Get well soon everyone that's suffering from Covid!!

I lost all motivation the past 2 weeks bc of the pain but there is light at the end of the tunnel! My doctor managed to get me an earlier spot with the specialist and today we scheduled my surgery for the 18th of February! Still a long wait but feeling motivated again!

I can't properly exercise bc of the pain but I set myself the goal to Walk up and down the living room 50x a day and bought that type of exercise elastic that you can secure above a door so I can at least try to train my upperbody.

Also very surprised I maintained my weight with all the crap I have been eating! 😁
Hope your surgery goes well and it's a quick recovery! X

Just out of interest I decided to add up my daily calories since starting sw on Monday and they're only on average 100 more than the 1600 I was given by Peter preece (RIP)
However I am a LOT healthier with sw

Whenever I did slimming world I always calorie counted too, as it’s so easy to go over your calories when following their plan!

Im finding it hard to actually eat the right amount of calories, I’ve planned all my meals and I’m getting to the end of the day and I have so many left so end up having a supper to use them but most of the time I’m either too tired to prepare food or I’m just not hungry.

I’m also on day 4 of no sugar in my tea/coffee and the withdrawals I’ve been expecting are yet to come... I suppose that’s a good thing but MAN it’s hard!! I don’t drink fizzy pop or eat takeaways very often so cutting them out wouldn’t be an issue for me, I worry about developing T2 diabetes and figured cutting out sugar in my hot drinks would be a good place to start 😊

Another 2lb off this week. My kid has been off school and I haven't been able to get many steps in so I'm pleased with that. Breaking it up into half stone goals is working for me, onto the next!

Current weight: 13 stone 0
10th Jan start weight: 13 stone 8
Goal weight: 11 stone

I’ve just ordered some body fat scales - been away all week so not going to weigh until next week when I’m back in routine, but my running is improving so I think there has to be some muscle improvement too 😂

I really need help. I’ve tried to years to lose weight but i just can’t do it. i’ve tried every diet under the sun, for the first few weeks i do brilliantly, but then I get obsessed and ruin it and binge eat again. I’m thinking of slimming world agajn just so i don’t have to count anything but really unsure 😔

Counting calories always sounds really boring and stressful, until you start doing it. It just means eating slightly less of what you normally would - I think a lot of us found that portion control really is key.
there are so many of us in the same position and we’re all here to help ☺

Cutting out all refined/added sugars has for me been the only way I have managed to conquer emotional binge eating. Same as you I had wasted years yoyoing and being told 'a calorie is a calorie'. CICO might work for some people but I really think that for those of use prone to binge eating, we need to really learn about nutrition and take a no tolerance approach to sugars. Its been transformative for me, for the first time in my life I feel like I can eat somewhat intuitively and actually listen to my body.

I’m so sorry I accidentally haha’d this instead of the heart - I’m mortified 😳

You need to find something that works for you and that you can maintain. What works for me is shifting my food around so I eat more regularly but less (and fewer carbs, not because they're bad but because I have no portion control) - I eat something at around 10-11am, then again between 2 and 3pm then again between 7 and 9pm with low calorie snacks. That works better for me than two larger meals (I'm never hungry for breakfast first thing and can easily go through to lunch with nothing). Other than cutting back on carbs and unnecessary calories (lots of sauces) I don't change paticularly what I eat so I never feel like I've switched onto rabbit food. I also have at least one proper cheat type meal a week, usually a pizza on Friday night with a G&T or two.

Bonus points if you find exercise you love, for me it's Bodyattack which feels more like a dance routine to me than traditional exercise.

I’ve definitely realised this this week. I started a fairly intense PT workout and nutrition plan which went great for the first 2 weeks, but the meals were so basic (huge amounts of protein with barely any seasoning). This week I took my macros and planned tastier meals around them, including some Maryland multipacks of cookies for a sweet treat after dinner. I couldn’t resist them and knowing they were in the cupboard made me think about them constantly. ive eaten so many packets over the past few days. I was really hoping that factoring them into my macros would help me understand that I’m not depriving myself of them, but it hasnt worked out!! So this week there will be no sweet treats in the food shop as I just can’t control myself

I’m in the 12 stone bracket! 🥳

I only started at 13st 2lb but still... a loss is a loss right? I’m just happy I’m in a new bracket! 😂

Well done to those of you seeing results!

@SquiggleWiggle concentrate on healthy meals first then limit snacking. Constantly restricting yourself messes your head up. You aren't restricting, you are replacing with better choices. One step at a time 🙂

Week 5: -3lb! I was disappointed with my losses over the last 3 weeks so revisited the TDEE calculator. Based on the numbers it looked like I wasn’t eating enough as my average daily cals were below my basal rate (for just living). So I upped my cals each day, which felt odd and counterintuitive, but it appears to have been what I needed. It was TOTM this week too, yet i’ve lost the same in one week as I had in the 3 previous weeks combined! I’m now in the next stone down 😊

Started the year at 15st 10lbs. Weighed in at 10st 1lbs yesterday and I’ve got my period today so I am surprised his weight looked good on the scales as I normally weigh a lot heavier
