For me this is far too melancholy for a wedding. It’s so sad. It’s like the kind of music you’d hear at a memorial service.
Well we all have different tastes! I didn't want something that lots of people have had before, and it suited our setting perfectly so I would absolutely choose it again if I did our Day again.
Plus it meant there were lots of tears & emotion as I walked down the aisle 😂

Saw a gorgeous wedding venue yesterday! I still have 3 more to go and see and want to see them all before I make a decision.

I'm still so overwhelmed with 'dressing' the venue to suit your tastes... it is mad how quickly it all adds up!!!

It really is! And the amount of styled shoots you see online as opposed to real weddings can also warp your view of what should be done/is normal!

This is one of the reasons we chose the venue we chose
It was the more expensive out of the 3 venues but it was decorated already very nicely and included chivari chairs
By the time we got the other 2 venues the way we wanted them to look it would have cost more than the one we ended up booking.

Yes I had this issue, I love so many different styles. So I’ve gone for different vibes for different parts of the wedding.

That’s one of the (many) reasons we’re having a Teeny tiny wedding. I can’t be bothered with decorating 🤣

So much to consider!

We’ve booked a venue dresser who provides aisle decorations, table centre pieces etc. We’re going on honeymoon straight after our wedding so didn’t want to be stuck with 10+ huge fresh floral arrangements if the florist did them 😂

Awww so exciting! When are you thinking? What’s the venue like? (You obvs don’t have to answer if you don’t want tho😊)
March 2023! The venue is barn style, covered in fairy lights and out in the sticks!! What have you gone/going for?

That’s so exciting!

we’ve finally actually started thinking about how the day will go.. and are struggling a little bit. I know the whole “it’s our day so do what we want” but we only have a couple of guests, 2 from his family, 2 from mine. We have a photographer and will be leaving the venue for a bit after the service and family photos to go and have some portraits done.

what would you do/have to keep them entertained while we’re away?
And also in the evening. I will probably get changed out of my dress and we will just go and sit in the bar at the hotel for the evening, but any ideas as to how we could make it more than just “sitting chatting”

Ahhh sounds so gorgeous! 🥰
Ours is September 2022, a civil wedding in the town hall of a large Italian city, the reception will be an agriturismo and our dinner will be held in the vineyard.

I had a call with our planners this weekend and it’s so exciting to start looking forward to next year after the disappointment of postponing 😊

Not wedding planning as such, but is anyone else terrified of embarrassing themselves or something going wrong? I think I saw too much YBF when I was a kid and I keep having actual dreams about stuff going wrong and it’s really putting me off…

Also does anyone else have worries that half your guests won’t show up?

I’m way too much of an over thinker and so much of the wedding is sorted now so I should just relax😂!

Same, I hate people looking at me and I hate being embarrassed. I don’t think I’ll relax until all of that is out the way and the party has started🤣.

If it’s just the 4 of them, I’m not sure what else they can do other than sit and have a drink/chat… thats pretty much all that happens at a bigger wedding anyway. Do they know eachother? Are you worried it will be awkward for them!

Our families obviously know each other, but have never met each other

current theory is we have our wedding breakfast and then go to the hotel spa for the evening 🤣

Well, yeah. That’s what I’m getting at, if it’s just the 6 of you and you two go to have photos taken etc then the 4 of them will just have to have a drink and chat amongst themselves. That’s perfectly acceptable and if you try to provide anything else for them “to do” while you guys are away for a short while it’s going to feel a bit forced I think. Wouldn’t worry about it - I’m sure the 4 of them can sort themselves out for an hour!
