We discarded any photographer that didn’t have their pricing on the website. There’s a lot of photographers in our area so we were kind of spoiled for choice, but the lack of transparency was a dealbreaker for me. “Get in touch for a free personalised quote”. Nope. How about you tell me the price of your packages.
I’m just really lucky that the photographer I absolutely loved (and my fiancé was happy to go for) and really wanted had her pricelist on her website. £1750 for 10 hours. It isn’t cheap, but other photographers I liked the look of were only marginally cheaper (around £1500) so we were happy to go for it!
Totally agree. I get that some venues and maybe some ceremonies might be more work, but there should be a flat rate.

I think we’ve decided on our photography package. It is much cheaper than some other we'd seen (just under 1k) but they came recommended and I like their work. It’s another decision made as well- dp made the point that we’d probably look around, hum and haw, then go back to them only to have lost the date.

Is anyone planning on getting semi-perm eyelash extensions?

I think the subtle ones can look really great and really emphasise eyes, but most MUA seems to offer strip lashes instead.

would be interested in hearing other people’s views on it!

I'd say it's becoming more popular now. I'm getting married next year and it's a Thursday and a few of our friends also married on a week day. It can be an inconvenience for some guests, depending on their jobs, but ultimately if given enough notice if they truly want to be there, they will, regardless of the day of the week. Congratulations on your engagement! :)
Thank you!

The girl that does my nails also does a lot of makeup for weddings and she said so many people are getting married on weekdays these days.

I think because our guest list is so small anyway I wouldn’t want to have the wedding on a weekday when there’s a chance that the guest list would become even smaller, but I suppose I’ll just see what the venues say when we view!

I’m wondering if anyone can help… I’m looking for an online and easy way to collect RSVPs. Any suggestions?

We're a matter of weeks away from our big day and the most tedious thing at the moment is all the suppliers asking us to complete questionnaires. 😑 I know it's important but it's something you need to complete together and we can never find the time!

For the record, I also hated dress shopping and didn't have a weepy, flappy hand reaction to any of them I tried. I went with the one I liked best in the second shop I visited and that was my absolute limit. 😂
Ooh what kind of questionaires? 😱

Weird question but what’s everyone wearing for undies?

my dress has inbuilt support so don’t need a bra, but don’t know where is best to get special undies for the occasion? My dress is a-line so don’t need any support underwear or anything like that

My feet tend to get cold as well, but not sure about wearing holdups or tights? Is everyone just doing bare legs?

I’ve got small heels for the ceremony but plan on changing to converse after the meal!
I just wore a white thong!

Yeah some stuff is crazy how much it costs! I asked some bridal shops the price range of dresses before I went and some were up to £6,000!! I paid £1,000 for mine and honestly I can’t believe I dropped that for a dress I’ll wear once! 😂
I'm really torn with just buying mine from Monsoon or Needle and Thread. Would I regret it? Or would I regret the expensive dress?

I've just your rant in the rant thread ... I'll assume this is about your FIL.

I can only suggest having a firm conversation with him to tell him it's sweet he's concerned but he needs to stop and trust that you both know what you're doing. 🤷‍♀️
Yeah, it's definitely irked me today! I think we'll just have to do that

So on the dress note... I've absolutely fallen in love with Rosa Clara designs but they're so dear.

Is it a horrible experience walking away from a lovely dress you can't afford?
Should I try them on and scratch the itch? I might hate them but at least I'd know.

I can't find anything with similar vibes so recommendations also appreciated.

How’s everyone having their hair for their wedding? I had my hair trial last week and have to have a bun I think as my hair won’t hold curls long so can’t wear it down even though I’d have preferred to. I do have quite long hair and it’s super thick and I just feel like my bun was huge and looked stupid, but not sure what else to do other than cut my hair 😭

What about requesting on the RSVP if guests will require the use of the bus from the ceremony to the reception so they can be put on the bus list then you will have a better idea of numbers. If the numbers are over, like @kelly123 has said, potentially the bus could do two trips.

I know it may not be ideal but at my cousin's wedding she had a bus taking guests from the ceremony to the reception and a lot of people, myself included just drove ourselves so our car was at the reception for the next day as we were staying over. She had about 120 guests and the venue was an hour and a half away x
Thanks for this - another thing I hadn’t thought of doing 🙈 (Story of my life with this wedding 🤣!)

Invites have already been sent so I’m defo too late for this one - would have been ideal to have got an idea of numbers!

Defo starting to panic now-the bus company can’t do a second trip as they have a booking after us and will need to make their way out of town after our booking.

pray for me please ! No idea how this going to turn out 😭😭

Does anyone else in the middle of wedding planning feel really lonely? I do 😭
I do….. I have had no help at all from anyone! I’ve got to breaking point this year as it has been so full on with a lot of other things chucked into the mix, and I’ve found the process quite lonely for the most part. The only parts I’ve actually enjoyed have been the dress shopping and food tasting !

Hiya - bit of a funny question but I’m hoping to get some reassurance before I go all in on buying bits etc.

Basically had a nightmare planning my hen party abroad - we gave almost a years notice, chose destination on where was cheapest etc. people were making all the right noises and saying they’d defo come so myself and my 2 bridesmaids booked the flights.

After 6 months of chasing one by one everyone else dropped out because the flights had inevitably gone up etc etc. Our flights are non refundable so we’ve decided we’ll still go as we’ve all really wanted to have a little break away!

My question is do I still go all in on the hen do white wardrobe/buying the girls team bride jumpers etc? I feel like it’s a bit embarrassing only having two friends but equally I don’t want to miss out on the experience.

I will be having a night out at home too with family, colleagues etc!

Thank you ❤

Sorry if this has already been discussed, but has anyone found a good shop or website to hire bridesmaids or even occasion dresses from? Thank you.

i seriously need to get my shit together, i get married October 2025 and so far i have done nothing, currently 28 weeks pregnant and also have a 2 year old so life is pretty busy at the moment. but i'm not gonna lie i hate party planning i find it time consuming and boring (if i had the money i would have a wedding planner so i wouldn't have to do a thing) 😂 so the thought of planning a wedding just overwhelms me.

also on a budget so i guess what i'm asking is...

Where do i start
where can i buy décor on a budget?
a dress that's not going to cost and arm and a leg
what should i actually be buying 😂

Help me pls
Download Bridebook!! I only used the checklist & budget part but it was soooo helpful at setting out what to do and when, plus you can add your own tasks and it’s very satisfying ticking everything off!

I got a few decor bits from Shein and planning to stick them on vinted/marketplace so worth checking those out.

that’s really odd and passive aggressive. Have you tried asking her what’s wrong? It could be that she finds it difficult to be confronted with the reality that her child is growing up.

I don’t have a great relationship with my mum, so can’t really relate. She’s gone delulu but for totally different reasons lol.
No I haven’t, when we first started talking about the wedding we were talking about a different style so it would be a Friday-Sunday thing (if people wanted) and we could bring our own alcohol, have outside caterers etc. and she rolled her eyes when I was talking about this so mentioned it to my dad who asked her about it and she apparently felt we were “cheaping out a bit” which wasn’t the case. Anyway, we went for a different venue much closer to home where catering etc is included.

I wouldn’t think she has an issue with me growing up as she has always sort of let me do my own thing even as a teen, as long as she knew I was safe and I think that’s why we have a good relationship now and never argue and I’d hate to have our first argument since I was a moody hormonal teen over this 😅

I think she doesn’t like a big fuss but it’s one day and as I said I’m not asking her for help with planning etc., all she has to do is turn up on the day so I really don’t know what her problem is!!
---
Is your mum generally into stuff like that? Some people are just not that interested in all this wedding stuff, maybe she's trying not to be an overbearing mother 😅
When my cousin got married years ago (at my venue) I remember her being quite excited for it to be honest. She also planned my sisters baby shower a few years ago and was really into that and my nieces first birthday party etc., which I know is completely different but I only need a tiny bit of excitement 🙈

Hi everyone

Getting married in May 25, what have people done regarding bridesmaids? I have 3 sisters im closer to one more than the other two, they are all expecting to be bridesmaids!
I keep having an internal debate with myself that Ideally I would like sister 1 and two best friends as bridesmaids, but how do I go about letting the other two down. Or do I just go down the route of my 2 best friends as bridesmaids and no sisters, just trying to keep everyone happy, to add my two friends have no expectations to be bridesmaids.
I think it depends on your relationships with the 2 sisters you’re not as close to, and how much you can handle conflict/them being pissed off.

Ive got 6 bridesmaids, a mixture of thinking I can’t ask X without asking Y because they’d be upset if I asked X and not them and then a couple of “nice to have” who didn’t expect to be asked. I’m happy with all my choices but I also really don’t like conflict or thinking people are upset with me 🤣

I need some online website recommendations for bridal jewellery please if anyone can help?
