Thank god I found this thread because I know I will get some honest opinions here...

so my MOH's husband has said that he wants to know the exact colour his wife's dress will be so that he can get a suit custom made which will be the exact same colour as her dress (basically matching the wedding party) and their daughter will also be in the same colour. Bear in mind, only my friend is part of the wedding party, her hubby and child are just guests.

I don't even know what to say or how to react if I am completely honest. A slightly darker shade of the bridesmaid dresses wouldn't be so bad, but I don't know how to feel about a completely intentional, literal exact colour match.

Has anyone ever bought their dress from the still white website? There’s a gorgeous dress for a really good saving on it that I am very tempted to buy, however I’ve never went wedding dress shopping and so 1) I’m not sure exactly what suits me and 2) I do want that experience so I’m wondering if I will make a big mistake(even if the dress is gorgeous). Someone talk me down 😂

I feel like I may have asked this before but does anyone know the best place to sell a wedding dress? I have an unworn, brand new with tags dress that I got from wed2b for around £500 but I ended up not wearing as it didn’t fit me (those of you who were here a few years ago might remember my dilemma of having a baby 10 weeks before my wedding and having to buy a new dress 3 weeks before 😆😆😆)

My mum keeps saying to just put it on Fb marketplace but I don’t know if there’s a better option , and also no idea what kind of pricing people would expect
I’m pretty sure there is a Facebook group specifically for wed2be dresses I think it’s called something like wed2be pre loved, but it’s good because they don’t always have all sizes and styles in store so people look on there!

Hi everyone

Getting married in May 25, what have people done regarding bridesmaids? I have 3 sisters im closer to one more than the other two, they are all expecting to be bridesmaids!
I keep having an internal debate with myself that Ideally I would like sister 1 and two best friends as bridesmaids, but how do I go about letting the other two down. Or do I just go down the route of my 2 best friends as bridesmaids and no sisters, just trying to keep everyone happy, to add my two friends have no expectations to be bridesmaids.

I’m selling a lot of my wedding decor on Facebook marketplace/Ebay.

One of my favourite pieces of decor was actually some faux foliage/faux flowers. It was pretty inexpensive from Amazon/ebay but looked so nice in photographs.

I got my bridesmaid dresses from Lavetir - was a bit of a gamble at the time because I hadn't heard of them but they're amazing quality and fit my bridesmaids perfectly.

If you've got time before your wedding, black Friday sales are so good! Sounds obvious but I didn't even think of bridal stuff being on sale for black Friday but I saved a couple of hundred easily
Thats such a good idea, I didn't think about black Fridays sales. I must keep that in mind :)
Going to have a nosey at Lavetir now too.

It is so easy to get sucked into the wedding talk and costs but if you genuinely feel negatively about spending X amount on something I don't understand why people do it? Genuine question and I've been there, we were literally on the brink of cancelling because I was getting carried away, looking at an expensive photographer and then videographer on top, nearly £4000 for both, I'm sorry but no matter how good the photos are they aren't worth that! So many of you are saying oh but X amount is good for a dress/photographer etc etc but the reason the wedding industry is extortionate is because people spend those crazy amounts 🤯
We set a budget at the start of planning and are set to be slightly under that, so even though I might think £1,000 is a lot for a dress for one day (and it is) I’m within my overall budget and I don’t feel negatively about it (I can’t wait to put my dress back on and also can’t wait for my wedding as it’s exactly what I wanted - a ‘traditional’ wedding but quite small with 50 guests). I just also realise certain elements are still expensive even though we can afford it 🤷🏻‍♀️
---
I’ve said it before but I sacked off my “proper” wed2b dress and got mine for literally £100 from quiz and I absolutely loved it and got so many compliments. It was the best decision for me!
---

I got mine a personalised tote bag, filled with
- pink sweet cone
- personalised travel jewellery box
- bride squad nightie (we actually wore these in the morning getting ready)
- bridesmaid bracelet
- mini pink bubble candle
- mini pink bath bombs
- personalised Prosecco flute and a cocktail in a can

Most of it was from Etsy
Ooh the candle and bath bombs are such a good shout!

How the fuck do I make myself enjoy it when I already don’t want to go to my own pissing ceremony? I’m treating myself to a massage the night before but anyone who’s been in the same boat as me, is there anything nice I could do for myself in the morning? How many shots is a reasonable number to have while I’m getting ready?!
Do you plan to be with your husband to be the night before your wedding? I did that and it was so lovely, I wouldn’t have slept a wink otherwise. Would you consider getting ready and walking down the aisle together? That might help with your nerves too?

hello, my fiance and i are thinking about prenup. he said in uk it's more advisory base compare to like a contract in usa. things might also change when there are future children involved. so how does this work? do many people have prenup? i was the one who brought it up. i told him i would sign it.

Binge-reading through this old thread because the family drama comments are making me feel so much better about my own sanity lol. My MIL almost ruined my mental health during our planning.

Honestly, the only way I survived our wedding in Colorado last year was just outsourcing absolutely everything to stop the arguments.

We used Phat Limo for the transport around the Boulder area just so I wouldn't have to coordinate cars for the in-laws myself. Best decision ever, they just handled it.

If you're currently losing your mind over details, seriously just delegate the logistics to local vendors. It's not worth the gray hairs.

Hi all! I've just got engaged so at the very early stages of planning.

I've been having a look at venues and wedding packages and feeling quite tempted by a "twilight" package where you start at 4pm and don't have a formal sit down meal, just a buffet as part of the reception. Just wondering if anyone else has done something similar or what peoples thoughts are on not having the traditional full day. I think it will work for us as my OH has recently been diagnosed with autism and ADHD and it's just such a LONG day. He does love a wedding as he used to work in venues but I think I just want to make everything as easy and stress free for him as possible and as he gets older he finds it harder and harder to be sociable.

Right, didn’t end up buying a dress but the experience was positive! I’m so exhausted now, I need a nap!

I really love a Wed2b dress and I knew they didn’t have it in my size in my local store, but decided to pop in anyway just to see whether I could see it in person. Turns out, it’s as stunning as I thought it was going to be, but they didn’t have my size or the colour I want. I tried on two dresses there, they weren’t the one, but it was nice to try them on anyway. Showed me that I definitely wanted an A-line and now a ballgown.

Then we went to an independent boutique for a 2-hour appointment. Tried on 8-10 dresses maybe and there were two very strong contenders. I could have walked away with either one of them and been happy, but just couldn’t decide between the two.
Annoyingly, I’ve watched a lot of SYTDD over the years and I was really expecting the “bridal moment“ (I’m a very emotional person and I’ve cried watching other people have the moment, I’ve cried at every wedding I’ve been too, etc). I didn’t have it, and I don’t know if it means I haven’t found the one, if it means that the bridal moment for me will be different to what you see on TV or if the moment is a myth. That being said, the 2 dresses I ended up really liking were the 2 I really liked on the boutique’s social media but I always preferred the Wed2b dress, so annoyingly, I think I’ll need to do the drive to another store. It may not be the one for me, but I think I need to get it out of my system before I can commit to something else! I just don’t fancy the drive 😅
Ooh which wed2be dress was it? I had my eye on one on the website that was an a line but they didn’t have it but I managed to get another there that was so similar

Try stillwhite it's an international wedding resale platform. You can look through the catalogue and see what similar dresses are going for, and post your listing. Brand range and price range is varied, has asos and vivienne westwood

Hi everyone,

I'm finally starting our wedding invites and love a few of the designs on Vistaprint (I used them for my save the dates and it was so straight froward) :)

but was just wondering, what is the best site out there to set up a wedding website and get a QR code to add to out invites so that people can RSVP that way if they wish

Thanks :)
Do they come on nice card from vista print or paper?

I've booked a wedding dress appointment for March, and I'm really excited for it. Less excited for the cost of wedding dresses though and honestly feel really anxious at the thought of spending over £1,200 on a wedding dress, which will then require a few hundred pounds of tailoring on top of that cost.

I've seen some online at Azazie that are absolutely gorgeous, same with JJ's house and a fraction of the price. I know these will also require a lot of tailoring but the initial cost is definitely more appealing. I've paid £45 for an appointment at a boutique near me, and I was going to go with my bridesmaids and future mother in law. Am I being a bit silly if I keep this appointment despite thinking I probably won't end up purchasing my dress from this place, as I think I'd still like the experience of going to a dress shop and having the fuss? Or am I just wasting everyone's time doing this if I don't end up saying 'yes to the dress'?
I got my dress for around £750 down from £1800 (so they said, probably wasn't 😂) from a wedding dress shop - you basically buy the dress as seen there and then but it was in perfect condition. It did need a bit of work done to it though closer to the time as I'd lost weight. I think the alterations were maybe around £250.
So don't worry or fret about the costs, there are so many stunning dresses out there for a fraction of what you think you will pay - just go and enjoy the experience, get an idea on what style you like, get an idea on what suits your body and just enjoy it. Don't worry if there is nothing there you like or if everything is really expensive, you don't have to just go with the first shop you try. You will find the one :)

I bought my bridesmaid dresses from Azazie and have to say the quality was fantastic. They took around 3 weeks to come and they did need taking up a bit but they were stunning dresses on the girls. They have got an option on there to send in your exact measurements to have the dress tailored for you too which is handy.

I appreciate your apology and re-explanation, I apologise for maybe being a bit defensive also!

It is just the general thing with weddings that the cost of everything is crazy - I just wanted to make the point to OP that you can find good for cheaper (and as you say still not cheap by any means!)

Hope you have an amazing wedding day 💛
No not at all, don't apologise - I can completely see where you were coming from, and how my post was worded. I would hate for anyone to feel that way or to take that from my comment because that wasn't the intention.

100% you definitely can - like you said the cost of weddings is crazy and when you first start planning it is so unbelievably overwhelming. I couldn't get over the price of wedding stationery. Ended up doing my own save the dates on vista print for honestly a fraction of the price I was quoted by a company, and it was so easy to do myself and quite fun. They turned out really well, So I'm going to do my invitations, table plans etc that way too.
If I ever come back in the next life I hope I come back as a wedding vendor of some sort 😆

Thanks so much 💜
