Yeah I definitely intend too some time soon! I have quite a few backlogged games I've bought and just never got round to playing. One of my bad habits! The most recent was judgment, a Sega game, which I'd never heard of and just read the back while browsing in cex and it sounding interesting. I'm enjoying the small amount I've played so far but it's quite different to any other game I've played recently in terms of mechanics.

I was tempted to get thps 1 and 2 as well purely for nostalgia again but will leave it until I've got through a few more in my current collection first haha. I did get skater xl when it was release on console as I absolutley loved the skate series back on the 360. Its decent but not quite the same. They seem to be putting out updates occasionally so I'm hoping it wil continue to get better.

Seems like we have similar tastes in games! Don't do that to us rockstar 😂 will be on the ps8 at this rate before the next gta haha.

I can imagine rockstar taking that long to be honest! I’m in an opposite situation in that I’ve played all my current games to death (or can’t play them at all due to broken xb1) and am desperate to get something new but right now have more important things to spend my money on😂 I want to play Watch Dogs: Legion, Cyberpunk, Ghost of Tsushima, Tony Hawk Remakes, fallout 4 (have the complete edition for Xbox annoyingly), stardew valley (my disc got scratched). I have never heard of judgement.

I’m currently playing The Sims4 which is quite a contrast to the games we’ve been talking about but I love simulation games.

Fallout 4.... Another one I have but haven't played 🙈. Really need to go through and get playing them.

Yeah I'd never heard of it either. Apparently it's related to the yakuza games somehow? Not that I've ever played any of them either! But it's good so far. Normally I research games extensively or it's a franchise I already know so it was completley random how I picked that one up haha.

Big fan of the Sims too but I prefer the Sims 3. I just don't really like the cartoony style of Sims 4 and the loading screens everytime you want to leave a lot. I recently got ambitions for Sims 3 from Cd keys but it must have flagged ea or origin or something as I played it a few times then it essentially dissapeared. Obviously ea were less than helpful so just put it down to a bad experience. Was really enjoying playing as a firefighter too haha. I love quite a few simulation games (or at least the idea) but much prefer them on pc and don't have a good enough pc to play them. I tried two point hospital when it was free one weekend and enjoyed it but it wasn't quite the same as the original theme hospital (if you ever played that! Loved that game)

I got so bored yesterday that I somehow got a free trial for PS Now even though I've paid for it previously? Anyway, I wasn't too impressed with the games that have been added until I saw a game called Judgement on there.

Wasn't expecting much but it's part of the Yakuza franchise and I'm quite hooked! There seems to be a lot of stuff to do as well as the main story quests. I've got to say though the drops from enemies aren't good or that frequent. There's been times I've been stuck and unable to progress with story missions as you need to buy an item and I had no yen or spent it without knowing it would be needed later 🙄 pretty fun otherwise.

Tbh the main reason I've tried psn again is because I wanted to play Runescape but my account is locked and I can't get in. All those hours I've spent grinding away at free to play skills wasted 😔

Sims3 was so fun! But it won’t run on my laptop so sims4 it is. I do get bored with Sims 4 very easily, just doesn’t seem as engaging as previous versions. I’ve been doing challenges and trying to step out of my comfort zone and do things differently to try and keep it interesting but even with multiple expansion packs it feels like it’s missing something.

I have the Sims 2 installed and that runs ok, maybe I’ll go back to that when I’m bored of 4. I think that was my favourite instalment of the series, even though now it’s probably lacking in comparison it was so charming and the fact that the Sims had genetics, looked like their parents and then actually grew into adults so you could continue the lineage blew my mind.

The Sims games for PS2 were awesome too. I’d give anything for them to bring out Bustin’ Out again. Was so disappointed when I found out The Sims 4 on console was just going to be a port of the pc version. The whole format of having a story and goals to complete worked so well on console and you still had the ‘free play’ mode along side it. They just don’t make them like they used to.

Edit: that judgement game sounds quite interesting. Might have to check it out.

@Sardine ah that's a very helpful tip about saving the yen! I've only done the first couple of missions so sort of still in the tutorial / learning the game basics stage. But yeah just from looking at the game checklist and seeing the multitude of side games like playing games in the arcades and doing mini golf etc it looks like it could be another one to keep me occupied for a quite a while! As I said I've never played yakuza but would be tempted to give it a go if I keep enjoying judgment.

@Bitofthebubbly yeah I haven't even played much Sims 4 tbh. I have got the ps4 version for some reason as well and was trying to get the trophies as a sort of challenge to myself but haven't played it for months. That's funny you mention Sims 2 as I have the ultimate collection from when they gave it away for free and tried to play it as I never did when it first came out and alot of people say its their favourite of the series and my laptop really struggled with it! I was on quite a busy lot with a lot of npcs around so maybe that was why but I have Sims 3 University which has alot of npcs and stuff going on and never had that problem 🤷🏻‍♀️
And wow! The Sims bustin out just gave me a major throwback! Did you ever have the urbz game with the black eyed peas? I remember having that on the xbox and loving it so much. Wow would do anything to have them remastered 😂

Ahh honestly it was quite frustrating. I spent most of mine messing about in the arcades and needed 2,000 to buy a handyman outfit. I didn't have it so had to spend quite a bit of time waiting for enemies to spawn and drop. 😊 also the first boss fight was easy so there's that to look forward to haha.

I saw the news about the GTA remasters and think they're unnecessary. Vice City and 3 are my two favourite GTA games but I feel like making them all shiny and bringing them up to date is going to ruin it for me. Everyone being polygonal and the draw distance being five inches is all part of the charm. I'd much rather have a GTA 6, even though I didn't enjoy V that much. Speaking of sixes, is anyone looking forward to Far Cry 6 coming out?

To be fair to Rockstar I think it will be their Dundee studio working on the remakes/remasters. They used to be known as Ruffian Games before they were bought out and specialise in remastering older games. The rest of their studios are probably still working on gta6 whilst the remakes are going on. At least I hope so!

I can't wait for Far Cry 6! They do great villains (Pagan Min my fave) and the new one looks like it's going to keep up the quality baddie streak.

I love the Fallout games. Played Skyrim and it was great to see the parallel mechanics between the two series, but Fallout will always hold a piece of my heart.

Sims 2 will forever be my favourite. I was addicted to that site (modthesims2?) with the downloadable meshes and outfits. Happy days.

Am watching the other half play RDR2 right now (currently robbing a sleeping bloke in a cabin?). I've watched him playthrough it twice already and still cry at the end.

It's a shame Rockstar have made so much money from GTA online. I'm still gutted there isn't any GTAV DLC, unlike the older titles, but why bother putting in the effort when they can skim loads of money from bloody shark cards? 🙄 I did once download the mobile game where you can feed/train/clean up after Chop so I guess that could count as DLC 🤷🏻‍♀️

Current guilty pleasure is Overwatch. Literally hundreds of hours frittered away, and I'm still crap at it.

I had folders and folders of content from modthesims2 on my old laptop. I never used any of the original outfits from the games 😂

Currently replaying last of us 1. It's got to be one of the best games ever. Maybe a second replay of the last of us 2 next, then RDR2 for the first time. Can't wait for the new horizon zero dawn forbidden west.

When I was younger we weren't allowed a NES or MegaDrive so I mainly played MS DOS games and have really fond memories of them. In particular I absolutely loved Commander Keen - Invasion of the Vorticons. Also a game called Hoverblast that no-one else seems to remember. You steered a hovercraft type thing around a fort to collect flags.

Then the usual chess, solitaire, minesweeper etc. We also had a demo version of Prince of Persia which only let you move around a small area and swish your sword. If you tried entering a bit that wasn't part of the demo, he'd just run on the spot.

My brother bought an Amstrad off a friend way after they were the in thing. I was so exited to be able to play Donkey Kong etc but the tapes used to take forever to load and the noise was awful. It was particularly frustrating when you'd get a loading error and had to start all over again.

By this time a lot of my friends has proper consoles so I used to love playing Mario, Sonic etc at their houses.

In my late teens/early twenties I was absolutely addicted to Crash Bandicoot. I enjoyed Rayman too but I found him a bit hard to control and go in the direction I wanted him to go so I'd get frustrated.

There was also a game that was a rabbit that ran along a line or ribbon that moved to music. The name of it came to me half way through writing this- Vib Ribbon! The music to it was really weird, sort of scratchy and used to send me demented after a while.

A heads up for everyone that you can get playstation now for £1 for one month at the moment! Just make sure to cancel the auto renewal straight after purchase or you'll get charged £8.99 for the next month.

There are a few ps3 classics on there and some ps4 ones I probably wouldn't buy myself but that I would have liked to try so this a good way to get to play them! Also red dead redemption is on there so will get to replay it 🙌🏻

Does anyone else feel like these have too many games to play and not enough time to play, and then when you do play you just go back to your comfort games? I always end up going back to stardew valley or animal crossing or rdr2 😂

Yes I definitely cycle between the same few games. For me at the moment it’s usually rdr2, wicher3&dlcs, fallout 4, Horizon:zero Dawn, gta5. Then when I get sick of open world games I play uncharted 2, 3, 4 and Lost Legacy, TLOU, Spyro Reignited, Tomb Raider, The Sims4 and Stardew Valley. Some of these I can’t play rn due to Xbox issues so thats even more frustrating.

Seems like a lot when it’s written down but it doesn’t feel like it!! There’s an ever growing list of games on my ‘to play’ list now as well. Maybe I’ll treat myself to a new game this month or next. The problem is deciding which one.
