How have I only just noticed this thread?! I'm not much of a gamer currently, so all of my memories are from 1990s games. My favourite as a kid was Spyro (the first three) and Rayman (so hard!). Tomb Raider 2 + 3 as well. I'm sure everyone remembers locking the butler in the freezer. 😆 And of course The Sims. Those Sim people were more trouble than they were worth. You'd leave them for one minute and they'd wet themselves, set the kitchen on fire and then gophers would invade their cabbage patch.
I loved Spyro, I've recently downloaded the triology onto my xbox as my daughter loves watching me play!! Although at the ripe of 32 I do spend my evenings glued to COD and Fortnite, because despite being a 32 year old female single mum, I also identify as a 13 year old boy :ROFLMAO:

Nothing wrong with that. I got the trilogy on my Switch but I ended up annoyed on the first level as I forgot where all the dragons were from the first time I played it

I also downloaded it on Tuesday when it was available for the deluxe version and it's really good! I really love open world games like this! But if your unsure definitely watch YouTube videos or streams!

I have the Xbox series X, it runs smoothly on it, it has some minor issues that's mostly cosmetic like weird black glitch things appearing on characters during story mode, the doors not opening straight away at times, an if you have a robe on then it looks like it's coming out the front of them lol, but I assume they will fix it up with a patch soon enough, nothings affecting the actual game play though

Tbh the only things you are getting on the ps5 is a extra potion, an a shop to sell things at that gives slightly more gold, I don't think there's anymore benifit to it than that, an am not sure if those were also preorder things as well, but if you all ready have a Xbox then it is running fine on it

I’ve never played the PlayStation my boyfriend has a ps5 I’m a big Harry Potter fan and I want to play the game does anyone have any advice would it be worth buying the game to play or would it be too difficult for me? I’m a quick learner but not sure if I could enjoy it if I’m not good on the PlayStation?

So I’m not a big RPG player but I’m enjoying it. There’s a spell so it lights up a little gold path to get you to the place you need to be for your quest. The battles do get harder but when you die you end up at or pretty near to where you just died. Could you watch someone playing on Youtube to see if guy want to play it? Maybe try a couple of different videos as one I watched was annoying.

I've just finished the game, I had it on normal to start with an even for me it was a battle an I game a ton lol

The game does have easy an a story mode, I found easy more my pace, so you could try easy an if it's still not working out then you can change to story mode, you can change the difficulty at anytime an story mode might allow you time to find your way around the controls, it also gives more time to put up a shield an dodge from enemy's

The spell wheel can be a bit confusing to begin with so I'd recommend that once you get talent points you unlock the extra spell wheel slots an start to learn what spells work together, spells like accio an incendio are great together as incendio doesn't have a good range an accio will pull them towards you then you can burn them, also leviosa an descendio are good as you can lift them up then slam them down, the spells are all unlocked throughout the story so it's worth taking the time to learn them an when you can to match them up as nearer to the end this will be crucial to make battles easier on you, also equipping your gear with traits an upgrades will make it easier on you as well, so ve sure to keep checking whenever you find gear if they are higher stats than what you have on

It is an amazing game an by the end you will be well used to the battles an what spells you prefer, there is sooooo much to do in game an even going around exploring an collecting things is great fun, as a fan you will love it ☺

Guys, I'm needing game recommendations. I just can't find anything I want to play. Games listed below are the sort of thing I like.

I've played:

Red Dead series.
GTAs series
Uncharted series
Last of Us series
Tomb raider series
Assassin's Creed series
Ghost of Tshuima

I don't really like fantasy games so whilst I did pay Horizon, I didn't like it as much as others. I don't like pure shooter games either (other than COD).

Any suggestions for games that are similar to those listed?

Have you played the watch dogs series? I didn't enjoy the first one too much to begin with but I did get into it and the second was amazing. Still have legion sitting on my shelf ready to play lol.

The Mafia series is great and there's a definitive edition with all 3 games on. I haven't played the first one yet but number 2 was one of my favourite games ever back on the xbox 360. 3 is great as well - a bit repetitive but the story is amazing.

Those were the first 2 series that popped to my head!

Saints Row came immediately to mind.

Cyberpunk 2077, too.

Not sure if you have game pass or not but those have all the Yakuza series on it

I've also heard greedfall is similar to assassin's creed, an skull an bones is like sea of theives but more story based than just sailing, fighting an quests

Also since we are talking about recommendations, any one know of any cosy/puzzle games to play, am Xbox an switch an quite enjoy the puzzle games like Omni, twelve minutes, portal, an the cosy story ones like stardew, atelier series, Minecraft, I've just finished hogwarts legacy an although I'll be going back it will be nice to have something else to have a break in between with that one

I have greedfall! it definitely feels a bit low budget and janky if you're used to the AAA blockbusters like red dead redemption, horizon etc but it did seem to have some heart and an interesting setting. I started it once but got distracted and stopped shortly after first boss, planning on giving it another go soon though. I think it will appeal more to "old bioware" fans of games like Knights of the old Republic, mass effect 1, dragon age.

Currently I'm playing the Witcher games. Couldn't play the first (I hear it's getting a remake) so I've started with Witcher 2. The game is looking and feeling it's age in the graphics and 'clunkiness' of animations and reactivity, but the combat is fun and has some depth, the world seems very intriguing so far and I can't wait to learn more of the lore.

I have to say it seems this game has been to the dragon age origins school of "this isn't your mother's high fantasy, I'm an edgy little dark fantasy game. MISOGYNY. bits. SEX." There have already been some cut scenes and dialogue that made me cringe and I'm just a few hours in, but on the whole I do miss when games actually were a bit darker, a lot of the big franchises feel so sanitised and "paint by numbers" nowadays. I love to get my "GCSE English, the curtains are blue" head on, and even a flawed attempt at having a message/parallels to real life in a game are at least fun to engage with and think about/criticise. I am happy we've come a long way in terms of equality in games though

I've heard great things about the Witcher 3, some people say it's the best RPG of all time so I can't wait to see how it measures up. Story focused RPGs in worlds with interesting histories are my jam 👍 I'd love to play elden ring but I know I'm just straight up too impatient and too bad at games to be putting myself through that 😂

Witcher 3 is phenomenal. We had it on our old ps4 and I had played about 130+ hours on the base game plus dlcs and still had some side quests remaining. We’ve bought it now for PC to replay but it still has some issues needing patched since the next gen update came out. 100% recommend.
