I've watched a few streamers on Twitch play Hogwarts Legacy. The graphics look great but I thought the gameplay and combat seemed a bit repetitive.

I enjoyed the Nintendo Direct last week. Was good to see a new Tears of the Kingdom trailer. Really looking forward to finally playing it in May! I know some are a bit worried that we saw a lot of the Breath of the Wild map, but I have faith it'll be different enough to stand on its own feet. It's Zelda after all.

I was quite surprised to see a new character announced for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, too. I just assumed the DLC was only going to be new tracks, so it was a pleasant shock to see Birdo's joining the roster soon. I still think Nintendo should have made a new Mario Kart game for the Switch, but I suppose they're saving that for the next console.

Not sure if anyone is interested, but if you've got a Switch and you like playing the classic N64 games on the virtual console, the official Nintendo shop has some N64 controllers in stock.

They've been out of stock for ages and I refused to pay scalper prices on eBay, so it was good to get an official one at a decent price; mostly for Goldeneye. :D

Good, although Nintendo should have never constrained the supply like they did. I know so many that have spent a fortune with a scalper.

Not sure if you have game pass or not but those have all the Yakuza series on it

I've also heard greedfall is similar to assassin's creed, an skull an bones is like sea of theives but more story based than just sailing, fighting an quests

Also since we are talking about recommendations, any one know of any cosy/puzzle games to play, am Xbox an switch an quite enjoy the puzzle games like Omni, twelve minutes, portal, an the cosy story ones like stardew, atelier series, Minecraft, I've just finished hogwarts legacy an although I'll be going back it will be nice to have something else to have a break in between with that one
I know this is an older post but I've just found the thread!

Ooblets is a great cosy game! It's like a mixture of stardew and pokemon, kind of.
Escape Academy if you like puzzles. It's basically an escape room.
Dreamlight Valley if you've not played that.
Hokko life was good too.
Garden story
Bugsnax I absolutely loved 😂
Unpacking is a very chill game. You basically unpack the boxes into the new rooms and follow the story, was a lot more interesting than I thought it would be.
Moonglow Bay
Eastshade
My Time At Portia

Road 96 was a great game, if anyone likes that kind of thing too. It's not too long and isn't a difficult play.

These are all on xbox/and or Swtich.
A lot if not all of these are or were on GamePass

Hopefully that gives some chill games for you to try😊

Can anyone recommend phone games on here too please, maybe? I think I’ve done solitaire to death and the jewel match games are boring.

I find phone games so hard to find because I absolutely hate ads and I hate waiting for things to build ect
As soon as it gets to things taking 10 minutes to build, it's deleted 😂

Board King's was one I played quite a bit though.

I can't even think of another 😂

I did subscribe to Play Pass and downloaded a bunch of games that had a 4.7+ rating but haven't got round to trying any yet!

I liked Gold and Goblins enough to pay the £14.99 to go ad-free - been playing it for a couple of years now. It's an idle miner.

Tchia (these screenshots from the PS5 version) is a great little game! I recommend it highly.

Also, I've been wondering if a remake/remaster of the original Metal Gear Solid could ever work on modern consoles?
With the unique way certain villains in the the game interracted with controllers and memory cards, I don't know how they'd do it now.

Does anyone else play/have played any of the life is strange?
I’ve got True Colours going on my PS5 but not played in a while. I actually have the first one on steam but it broke me trying to control it with the keyboard so I need to give it a try with an Xbox controller.

I love the original ones but True Colours was the best one for me!

Is anyone playing the new remake of Resident Evil 4? I don’t have it myself but I played it at a friend’s and it’s great!

I love the original and the remake has enough variants to make it different but has plenty of elements that are faithful to the original.

Ooh great thread. I love gaming when I get the chance. I think I prefer indie games these days although when I was younger it was Mario, Crash Bandicoot and Sonic.

Recent favourites have been Lost Ember, Spirit of the North and Alba on the Switch. I'm currently navigating Bunhouse on Steam but I don't like the controls. I'm also looking forward to Wholesome:Out and About by Yaldi games especially as its a Scottish production. The release date has been pushed back again though. My favourite mobile game was Plantopia but its been discontinued 😭 Murder In The Alps is pretty decent too although the latest chapter was underwhelming. I'd love to see more nature based games become available in the future.

My partner is playing it but I’m just watching. I’m sad the merchant changed, the voice of the old one used to make me laugh.

Yeah the new merchant voice tries to mimic the old one, but it’s not quite the same. I don’t think any of the voice actors are the same, but then the original RE4 was released in 2005!
