Does anyone know much about an election going on now in California involving someone called Karen Bass? I have a FB friend in America and they're saying California is screwed and I just want to know if I'm right in my suspicions that they're like the US equivalent of a reform voter 🫣😂 I already know they're definitely MAGA 🙃
Here's an update about the Los Angeles' Mayor's race. Nithya Raman will go against Karen Bass. Pratt is out. Good.

Here are the latest numbers for the Mayor of Los Angeles race.

I saw that Pratt is upset that he is out of the ran. Yay.

So glad to hear that pratt is outta the race!! bleeping useless sack of tit
Sorry everyone, so it's not official that Pratt is out of the race for mayor yet. But Karen Bass did refer to Raman as the person that will be in the run off. Based on Karen Bass' comments more than likely Pratt is out of the race.

"Although NBC News has not projected which candidate will face Bass in November, Bass' campaign released a statement following Sunday's drop, referring to Raman as the mayor's "general election opponent."

"We look forward to winning a contest against an opponent who allows encampments near schools and fights against hiring more cops, yet is MIA on saving Hollywood jobs and fighting back when ICE invades LA," campaign spokesperson Alex Stack said."

This article was updated about 10 seconds ago.

"NBCLA reached out to Pratt's campaign after Sunday's vote dump but has not received a response. Pratt did, however, post on X, comparing Raman's gain of votes since election night to the number of people who experience homelessness each night in the city."

Bass is an absolute waste of space. How people are voting for her is laughable. Her response to the wildfires should have damned her from ever being reelected so I honestly don’t understand who’s voting for her.

And Raman said homeless people have a right to camp anywhere, even near a school. But as soon as protestors camped outside her home in their tents she complained. Hypocrite much.

I saw something on Instagram with Nick Shirley (decisive I know) where he went knocking on doors in LA to confirm the people on the electoral list was who they say they were. One person was supposed to be 126. Surprise. Surprise, that person didn’t exist. They had the age wrong.

The voting system for California is a joke too. They’ve found people in Pakistan voting that don’t even live in the country, let alone state! They take it at face value that you say you live in LA or Cali, so ANYONE can vote. How much could you rig an election that way? You could put a llama up for election (a very extreme example) and if you have a viral campaign and people around the world to vote, they could get elected. It’s corrupt as sin.

BIB Any US citizen who lives abroad but still has citizenship can register to vote in federal elections. It has happened in all their elections.

I'm quoting myself here. This is about the screwworm situation. So back in Nov 2024 after Mexican officials confirmed the presents of screwworm south of the border, the USDA, under Biden closed the border to prevent the screwworm from spreading to the US. The bottom X comment is about how DOGE cuts ended this program that was basically free to the US.

Africa's highest-rated football referee refused entry to the USA (he's from Somalia) where he'd have been refereeing his first World Cup.
Infantino & FIFA are spineless guys.

Yeah, it’s absolutely awful, the poor guy.
Apparently some journalists ( mostly from the Middle East and Africa, surprise, surprise ) have also been denied entry, the Iraqi team photographer has been denied entry, 90% of Moroccan fans WITH TICKETS have been denied entry and several members of the Iranian staff have been denied visas.
I’m wondering whether Trump thinks the World Cup ( and I 100% believe the fucker will try and steal the trophy ) is like the World series and only Americans can compete.
They should never have been given the World Cup in the first place. And we thought Qatar hosting was bad.
