Caroline Flacks death was awful, but I think it’s disgusting how the #bekind crowd have weaponized it and now use it to try and silence anyone criticizing an influencer. It’s too simplistic to say that she committed suicide because of the media or CPS anyway, there were a whole range of factors which contributed to her taking her own life, the main one being that she was clearly extremely unstable.

@HeyGuyth that’s good you are able to make that choice for yourself. I myself for the most part only eat organic free range foods - I’m incredibly lucky I can afford to. However it doesn’t make someone a “cunt” because they can only afford to feed themselves or their family a cheap meal. We will see a lot more of this over the coming months and years as we head further into the cost of living crisis, people will focus more on filling their and their families stomach before worrying about ethicality.

This has to stop. It's not inclusive, it's a waste of money. It doesn't make gay people want to join the fire brigade/police/ambulance/whatever.
Absolutely pointless and virtue signalling. When I see a vehicle like this, it's doesn't make me think 'oh that's inclusive' it makes me think 'that's stupid'

They are emergency services and as such should behave like it. Police doing the macarena? No. You are there to police. Our emergency services should be entirely neutral about everything.

It's pathetic that people have to try and be edgy by saying how they couldn't care less about the Queen, it's so teenage angst. Or worse still trying to politically point score making it about how allegedly badly off people are in this country, how a state funeral is a waste of public money and so on.

Public money is wasted ALL the time. The amount of waste during COVID was huge, all the dodgy furlough payments and bounce back loans which so many fiddled, Nightingale hospitals, etc. After all that I refuse to begrudge a state funeral for our monarch who worked for 70 years, literally until 2 days before she died.

this!! nothing sets off my alarm bells more than “i’m honest, i tell it like it is” or worse “i love banter”.

i worked with an absolutely awful bully of a woman who was always described as “so funny, you never know what she’s going to say, she doesn’t mess around” - no, she was rude and enjoyed upsetting people who she viewed as too sensitive or boring.

I don’t agree with grief porn and how that snowballs, but I do think people have a right to feel a bit sad about the end of an era, and to feel sad about the passing of an iconic lady, someone who has been part of collective consciousness for more than 70 years. Culturally, it’s significant for a lot of people.
