There should be more checks and restrictions to become teachers. Including social media and checks, e.g political views (neutral only)

my sister is an absolute psycho horrible mean person (to her family) and a newly qualified teacher LOL I certainly wouldn’t want her teaching my 8 year old
I thought they already did this?
Especially in a teaching role where kids search up their teacher's social media.

The guy from Puddle of Mudd’s cover version of Nirvana’s ‘About a Girl’ is better than the original. 👀

Maybe they should have personality tests too! I think they do search social media but perhaps
Not vigorously.

If a celebrity is found guilty of historical serious crimes it shouldn't prevent people from continuing to enjoy their music, films or TV shows nor should it stop radio or tv channels from playing or showing them.
I look forward to Jim’ll fix it being on over Christmas then 😉🤭

my partners ex was very morally questionable and had a lot of problems. Came from a very broken home and probably had a lot of unresolved trauma.

I can’t prove it, but I’m fairly certain she created a social media account pretending to be a kid and used it to stalk me on my socials.

genuinely concerning that she is in charge of children on a day to day basis, but I’m not sure how that sort of thing could be weeded out.

It’s really not that deep, I have tried all of those fast food chains and I don’t like them, greasy fatty and bland predominately beige food. It’s an unpopular opinion. Doesn’t make me a snob, ignorant or have issues because I don’t like fast food. We’ve all got different tastes. My taste is obviously superior to your taste 😜
That’s so silly, though. You can have a huge salad at Subway you choose the components yourself so unless you hate all salad, it doesn’t make sense. You can pick the dressing or none at all. Same with McD’s but to a lesser extent.
I admit I’m not into ‘fast food’ but I wouldn’t turn down fries once in a while, sure it’s got salt on it and the cooking method is fried, but I have oil and avocados regularly anyway. Ike you said, it’s not that deep.
I just don’t buy the faux outrage (and I hope it’s faux otherwise you’re going to be passing on eating issues to your kids- general ‘you’) around food which is readily available as the variety is so huge.

Do you jump on all threads to attempt to cause arguments?

Someone doesn't like fast food - that's their possible unpopular opinion

Yikes that’s creepy.
I’m sure the majority of teachers are fine and genuinely care for the kids.

I remember the first time I came across the words panic attack where at the age of six years old in school when our teacher had had a panic attack and never came back to school. I remember thinking it was like in Harry Potter when they see the snake and they become frozen😅

my mum is also a teacher and tells me about other unhinged teachers crying to her when the kids are on a break time. Others seem to have no emotion. The ones I be most worried about are the the social justice warriors/identify politics obsessive teaching my kids. Home schooling is appealing to me more and more if I am fortunate enough to be able to one day.
The early years are so important. Or maybe I’m just a control freak and I wanna know every thing my child is being taught and who by😅

In the light of Sarah Everards murder and there were suggestions there should be a male curfew…

I didnt think it was actually that unreasonable a suggstion.

I love my OH, I have lots of male friends and colleagues and I value them immensely… but ultimately there is enough of the male sex engaging in threatening behaviour to make the public sphere feel scary to me (as a woman).

considering women have effectively lived with restrictions and curfews unofficially and officially for millenia, I don’t think it’s that far left field to ask men to have a curfew maybe once a month.

I wouldn’t even do anything crazy. It’d just be nice to be able to walk my dog without feeling scared and to not be catcalled constantly.

That's scary to be honest, especially behaving like it as a teacher 😲 I genuinely thought they had quite stringent internet checks having to work around children, especially in today's world. Mind you I heard that teaching is one of the most drama filled and bitchiest professions ever with affairs and all sorts rife.

People that commit suicide and leave partners and kids behind penniless are assholes. And I don't care if they have mental health issues. At least have the decency to have an insurance policy on your life in a way that makes sure they are looked after. Then go kill yourself for all I care.

I don’t have food issues. I just don’t like fast food. I don’t opt for a salad when I eat out, what’s the point in that.

agreed the vast majority are lovely but I have to say, out of all the professions I’ve interacted with and had friendships with, there’s something about women who go into primary school teaching, a disproportionate number of them IME are a bit bonkers…!

I thought insurance polices never paid out on suicide
