Thanks so much for your advice ladies. I’m grateful to get a smiley even just for one day so I’ll continue on :) good luck everyone
It just depends on your LH surge pattern- some women (me) get a rapid surge so one day it’s negative then a huge peak the next. Others have a more gradual rise/surge. I’m told it makes no difference! I go straight from blank circle to static smiley.

Are you guys drinking whilst ttc? I am still having one drink every evening during the w.e. and have had one a bit more often than that recently due to st valentine and a few other occasions. Feeling a mixture of anxiety/guilt I shouldn't not to affect implantation etc but evidence on this seems mixed plus it's not like I am getting drunk I guess.. 😬

Yes I’m still having the occasional glass of wine at the weekends. And then usually a bottle when dreaded AF arrives😩

TTC for 2.5 years with no luck. Currently being investigated, had pelvic uss and bloods
Next is a hysteroscopy, they talk about local anaesthetic being put into the cervix
Has anybody had this and if so, how was your experience?
Thanks!

I’ve had local anaesthetic put into the cervix for a different procedure and it was completely totally 100% fine, so please don’t worry about that ☺

I don't but only because I'm temping and alcohol affects your BBT! Once I've got my crosshairs, then I'm happy to drink until I see those two lines!

Good Morning all,
Apologies if this has been discussed before. Just looking for some advice/re-assurance.
We stopped using all contraceptive mid 2017. I was tracking my cycles with an app. My periods returned after 3 months post contraceptive. I would say we were not 'trying' to concieve at this point. Avoiding the fertile window but seeing how it went and if we did fall on then great but if not we werent too concerned. Often my periods would be early or late so the fertile window changed once my period had arrived and appeared there were times where we had done it and I was in the fertile window. Last year we started trying more, not avoiding fertile window. Periods went very irregular last year when had been fairly regular before that (except the odd longer cycle once or twice a year) was going longer between periods. So struggled to pinpoint ovulation.Things seem to be settling again this year. After last year and no conception we have been referred for fertility treatment. This year have started using OPK to help the chances of concieving. I guess my question is - would you be concerned after 3.5 years of not using contraceptive and no pregnancy? I feel I am not valid to feel a bit worried as the first 2 years we were not 'actively trying?' But the last year upto now we were? Thanks

Hmm I wouldn't be too concerned, like its such a small window of opportunity, and whilst some sperm can live up to 5 days, that's the absolute maximum, so it may be that you were just missing your window. Have you had your blood test yet to check your baseline hormones? Usually the GP would do this before referring for fertility treatment.

So I ovulated a few days ago. I’m one of the unlucky ones who gets 5 days of pain before the egg actually releases. It’s like being kicked from a horse. I’ve been checked though and Apparnetly it’s all fine so it “normal” for me. Well I ovulated from my left side this month which hasn’t happened for a long time 🙄 anyway. Everytime I cough or get up too quickly it feels sore on my left side. Anyone else had this? It’s not “normal” for me after ovulation so idk whether to be alarmed. (I had a womb infection after my miscarriage in November so I’m probably just over thinking everything) and obviously recently a chemical last month, maybe things are still healing?

Really annoyed this month. We only had sex twice around ovulation. On actual ovulation day we just didn’t feel well. I don’t want it to become a chore but it feels like a month wasted. Oh well, there’s always next month

Omg same. Had sex twice and on the day of peak fertility I was not well. I was disheartened beyond belief. So I most likely won’t be pregnant this month.
Can I ask does anyone have an early short fertile window?
My fertile window starts as soon as my period finishes. I’ll see a flashing smiley for two days then the 3rd day I get a static smiley. Is this normal ?
I get a period every month but they are very short 22-24 days. Sometimes it will be 27-28 days.

What day in the cycle do you get the flashing smiley? I.e how long is your period

I used some OPKs for the first time this month but didn’t get a clear clear peak (some quite close by eye despite the app still saying they were low) and to be honest I found it draining thinking about it so much so I’ve used the box up and scrapped the idea for now. I’m pretty sure I ovulated last month due to pains & mucus but neither of those have happened this month so I am just waiting for my period to arrive. I think I’ll ask to speak to the private consultant again and ask to start metformin after all (have PCOS and she suggested it in Jan but I said no but now I’m thinking maybe I should).
One thing I’m struggling with is my sex drive - it’s never been through the roof but since I came off the pill start of last year it’s definitely fallen even more which isn’t great for trying for a baby. Managed to do it 3 times across the middle of the month but I know that could improve. Haven’t told husband I’m tracking my cycle that closely as I don’t want to make it seem like a chore and be like right we need to have sex now! He also doesn’t have too high a sex drive. The more we do it the more we both want it but I just.... often don’t! I always enjoy it once we get in to it, I don’t think feeling a bit large and pale and frumpy at the minute is helping either. Any suggestions? Are there any supplements you’ve tried which increase sex drive? I kind of want to make sure we give it a good go and enjoy ourselves to the max before we may need to go down a more clinical route to conceive. I felt good last month that I’d ovulated (have been taking inofolic which has improved my cycle) but no signs this month so feeling a bit weird again. My skin has also broken out like a teenager’s. Hormones! Just love them!! Men do not realise how lucky they are sometimes!

I also have PCOS and am taking Letrozole at the moment. I do recommend taking medication to ensure your cycles are regular. I started on Clomid (3 cycles), but we didn't find the right dosage (5*1pill was too much, 5*1/2 wasn't enough). With Letrozole (currently 2nd cycle) everything works better and dosage is fine. However, periods have become much more painful again... Ah well...

I feel you! I used to think I was blessed with perfect skin, turns out, that's was just the pill 😅 I look like a teenager during periods. Pimples have gone down now that I'm taking medication though.

On sex drive I can't help you unfortunately. I used to be a freaking bunny when my partner and I got together, but that kinda disappeared over time. I had high hopes when I stopped taking the pill, but it didn't come back at all 😩 It's not that I don't enjoy it anymore (I really do), it's just difficult to get in the mood...
That said, we had sex for about 10 days straight this month, because I'm so sick of not getting pregnant, didn't want to take risks 😅 (previous times we'd be active every other day)

Period is due around the 21st.
Really unsure. Had cramps and was nauseous the past two days (around 8 and 9 dpo). I'm also aware of my uterus, if that makes sense. Feeling better today. Hoping it was implantation. But my hair's getting greasier a bit faster, have a new, subtle pimple today. I honestly don't know.
Might do a test on Sunday. But I'm also scared to do so, because I've only had heartwrenching negatives 😩

Sorry for rambling, had to get it off my chest...

Good luck! I’ve heard good things about letrozole more so than clomid so fingers crossed for you this month!! I think knowing you want to conceive makes you so hyper aware of everything which doesn’t help - hence my giving up on the OPKs already ! Like in what other world are you ever “aware of your uterus” or examining every spot hoping and wondering... it’s awful it really is!
I get you on the sex drive.... I can’t work out how I can enjoy it so much but then not want it more. Wish i treated chocolate the same way! 😩
Good luck for whenever you test lovely ❤🤞🏼

My BBT is currently staying high (CD27), and I was feeling really optimistic, but now I’m starting with a headache and cramping - my usual signs a couple of days before AF arrives. Gutted.

Thanks for starting this thread!

I am TTC for the first time. I came off the pill in September after taking it for 7 years and luckily my periods have gone back to normal straight away.

I’m tracking my cycles on Ovia which is helpful - I feel like I’ve spent my adult life trying not to get pregnant and now suddenly I need to know about cycle lengths and ovulation days 😂

Really interested to read everyone else’s posts because I don’t have any friends in the same boat and we’re not telling anyone we’re trying because I’m worried it might not happen and I don’t want to be questioned about it constantly!

I literally feel like I wrote this as I am in exactly the same position as you!
My periods are normal but still not got a BFP

My period is 5 days. So I see it flashing day 6 this month. Last month day 7. Xx
I think that sounds about right and you would be ovulating between days 10-12 which makes sense for a short cycle. It indicates you have a decent luteal phase despite the short cycle
