@Honeybeetea i have no experience but I thought you could test with a FRER 5 days before your period is due. I see loads of people using them at 9/10 dpo.

Mine look exactly like yours pre peak, really low readings. Think I may take myself off to Tesco to get the CB ones this evening.

I also like that you can do it in the morning first thing and then not have to spend the rest of the day making sure you’re not drinking 2 hrs before etc. I think I would find the little flashy face reassuring too as like you say, at least you know something is happening.
I was super disheartened like you when my lows were literally, so low. You may have a rapid onset LH surge like I did. The not drinking can be v frustrating as you never know if the test is diluted cos of your drinking or the actual result. OPK’s are definitely a mind f*ck

So after my faint “positive” possible evap line (done lots of research into those this week 🙄) first response the other day I still felt a bit 🤷🏼‍♀️ and dubious so decided just to roll with it and if AF turned up then it turned up and I thought it had last night (4 days early) but today it’s just totally stopped. Literally to nothing. The blood was brown so old blood I would assume but what does this all mean ahhhhhh 😩 it’s driving me insane. My AF is usually quite full on from the word go so v confused. My boobs still feel like they’re going to fall of my chest, still have no real appetite and still so tired I could fall asleep at any point. Just want some kind of definite answer!

Hey girls! This has prob been asked loads but I’m not actually trying, just worrying so going to buy a test and wondering if you always test with your first wee of the day? Or any time will do?
FMU if you can but if you’re late then any time should do

Hi my tattle loves. So, after posting that we were taking a break a few days ago until my fertility referral, and throwing ourselves into a house move/putting the house on the market, I thought ‘hey, I’d better just check if I’m pregnant...lol that would really be a spanner in the works’ well it’s only bloody positive! I am in shock atm and we have had to rejiggle all our plans but we will make it work 💕
congratulations!

Hey everyone 👋🏻 I’ve lurked here for a while but not been able to bring myself to chat.

For 14 months now I’ve been using no protection as myself and my partner said no stress, let’s just see what happens.. every month I’m getting more stressed though!

We are now going to take the next step of trying seriously.. for lack of better phrasing.. since the chilled approach clearly isn’t working 🙈 Whenever I start to google it’s quite a minefield of vitamins, testing, logging everything and it’s so overwhelming! Does anyone have any recommendations for websites / apps with all the important basics?

Hi everyone, been lurking for a while so hope you don’t mind me joining in. I’m very new to TTC but JLXRD post gave me the confidence to post here! 🥰 huge congratulations to those who have had recent positives.

I’m 28 and came off pill (after 12 years 😫) in Oct 2020 been TTC ever since. I’m only using Clue app to track cycle, bought Boots strip ovulation tests and found them confusing so didn’t bother with anything else. I know some of you mentioned the ClearBlue ones but there were so many different types I didn’t know where to start 😂

I just finished up my 6th natural period which has been quite regular fortunately, but I don’t find I feel any different now to when I was taking the pill! A bit grumpy in the days leading up to AF but no ovulation cramps.. It’s making me worried - wondering if you guys would recommend starting the OPKs or if I should talk to my doctor? Really appreciate any advice you have , I feel a bit lost with it all and don’t want to waste the doctors time when they are inundated with covid related issues.

I know it’s still so early days for us, my heart breaks hearing of how long some of your journeys have been 😔 baby dust to you all xxx
agree maybe try a cycle with the clearblue one so it’s quite obvious. I think that would be the first step to figure out if you’re ovulating/about to and then you could go from there. BBT might be another shout (I’ve never tried it!) but I believe that’s the only way to be certain you’ve ovulated.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong but you’d not have a period if you didn’t ovulate?

Thank you @grumpycat & @Dipdab ❤
So far I have only been tracking period / ovulation on my iPhone health app so if it can be quite off I definitely need to track elsewhere.. I didn’t realise that!
It seems like a good step then would be trying premom app, ovulation kits and pregnacare. I haven’t measured cervical mucus so that’s something for me to look into now too.
My periods are luckily bang on regular so hopefully it’s just a case of me not getting my ovulation dates correct. Thank you so much for the starter advice. Trip to boots on my lunch tomorrow for my sticks and vitamins and keeping my fingers crossed for next month 🙂
Cervical mucus is a good way to figure out what’s going on with your body. During ovulation, you’ll feel ‘wetter’ and cervical mucus will be stretcher, allowing sperm to swim better. When your CM is thicker, creamier it’s classed as ‘non fertile’

I also vote the CB digi (or any digi) stick for OPK if you do want to go down that route. I found that taking it with first morning urine was easier, I knew my result and then I would keep a close eye on my CM too. Inputting it into the likes of Ovia, will help the app predict your ‘fertile window’ which is the 4/5 days leading up to ovulation and ovulation day itself. You need to be having sex in those days leading up to ensure there is sperm waiting for Ovulation.

I only took folic acid whilst TTC, and once I got a high reading in my digital OPK, we had sex every other day, or every day if we could.

Hope this helps and don’t even afraid to ask anything, big or small!

Ahh huge congratulation niamhm and grumpycat 🥰💕 so so happy for you both, I did a big squeal when I checked here this morning. Enjoy every second of it ❤

on a slightly different note can I ask for opinions on alcohol while ttc? I don’t drink very often but do enjoy it but stopped for a good few months there. Do you guys drink at all while ttc? Generally if I am going to drink I avoid completely in the TWW but wondering if that’s risky. It’s shocking how little I know about this stuff 😂
I still drunk, im not a huge drinker but enjoyed a wine or 2 at the weekend. As it was lockdown also I don’t think I would have coped at the weekends without it 😅

Hello friends! If you ovulate a week later than normal, is it normal to have a bit more aches and pains? I feel like I am ovulating a week late which is unusual, I’m having a bit of lower belly pain (I can’t describe it 🤣) and I don’t normally have this when ovulating. I sometimes have an ache on the side I’m ovulating on.

I think I need to start tracking ovulation because I obviously I haven’t got a clue 🙈🤦🏼‍♀️
The OPKs told me I was ovulating 5 days after my period tracker app predicted ovulation. You definitely need to start tracking!

So after I was a total blubbering mess yesterday I took a test. And then I took another. And another. And then my partner got me a digital as we’ve had some outrageous false tests the past couple of months. Turns out...I’m pregnant. 4 weeks 1 day by my dates. Crikey.

I just wanted to say that this has been the most incredibly supportive group and I have never rooted for strangers on the internet so much in my life. I don’t know what else to say as I want more than anything for you all to get your positives but thank you all for your kind words over the past few months, being on tattle really has meant so much more than just being a horrid troll (😉). You ladies are a top top bunch and I’ve got everything crossed for all of you ❤
Ahhh congratulations 💕🥳 so happy for you!

I would have a look at the different OPK's to see what ones you may like to try, I agree the boots strip ones are confusing! I would try the ones that you just pee on a stick like a pregnancy test, way easier! You can try taking some prenatal vitamins too, I think someone suggested some a few pages back. If you don't like using OPK's, you can track your CM or try recording your BBT. In regards to seeing your doctor, I mean this in the nicest way possible as I know how TTC is so difficult for everyone, because you haven't been trying for too long I doubt they would do much, and would possibly give the old tripe of 'you haven't been off the pill that long' etc. The NHS usually suggest trying for 2 years before seeing your GP, or 1 year if you have a gynaecology diagnosis (PCOS, endometriosis etc). I hope this has been somewhat helpful and not a long ramble! :ROFLMAO:

These are the tests I took at 5am, very happy but scared! Just praying it works out this time as I'm nearing my would have been due date 🤞 I'm not due on until tomorrow so won't count my chickens x
Congratulations! Sorry I can't remember everyone's timescales when ttc, can I ask how long you've been trying? X

Ah that is so exciting!!! Wishing you lots of luck. I’ve been crampy as well for the past few days but not like period cramps at all. Got a banging headache today and feeling really nauseas. Got my fingers crossed for both of us 😍🤞🏼

I’ve also got a bit of a headache and my mouth is SO DRY no matter how much water I drink. I haaaate waiting this last little bit, you read into everything!
Keep me posted how you get on 🤞🏻🥰

Little update from me :
Doctor just rang and chatted through my blood results, thankfully she had a much more helpful outlook than last time I have seen her about this.
my testosterone levels are above the high threshold which can be an indicator of PCOS but it’s not crazy high so she can’t be sure without an ultrasound.
I will get a letter with an ultrasound appointment soon but she couldn’t give a time frame for the actual appointment due to covid waiting lists.
my previous pregnancy that ended in MC is a “positive sign” (not sure I love the way she worded that one) that my body can get pregnant.
After the ultrasound she will have another phone call with me to discuss the outcome and then either refer me to the fertility clinic or redeem me to the hospital if there are lots of cysts.

Does anybody on here have PCOS? What has been your experience if you do? 💗
Hey! I have PCOS and only found out not long ago too so sending you love ♥
I’ve had my scan and blood tests, I’m just waiting for the next step now!

Mine was found as I came off the pill early 2020 and after the first 6 months of “waiting for my body to respond” (as the doctors say) my periods still weren’t normal. Since September I have had 2 periods, my last one finished at the start of Jan and nothing since then!

My doctor said I still have a chance to get pregnant it’s just I might need help, but it’s not impossible. xxx

Does anyone have long cycles? I’m finding it really frustrating, I’m in my 9th month but only 7th cycle. They are currently around 40 days, with ovulation not happening until at least day 26-29. Every month that my period comes it breaks me a bit more knowing I’ve got so long to go to even ovulate again.
