Growing up, I lived in quite a creepy house. When going to bed and everyone upstairs was accounted for, you'd hear cupboard doors opening and drawers in the kitchen directly underneath my room and general noise downstairs. It was so weird how the house came alive when we all went to bed upstairs. I've heard breathing outside the bathroom door when I was in it once and everyone was asleep at like 3am. The reason I heard it through the door is cos the door was one of those old fashioned sliding doors instead of a usual open shut door. I tit you not, a balloon that got thrown away since it deflated was found up full of air the next day in the lounge. Shadow people were seen a lot and the usual spooky things.
Moving on to my student share, that place was eerie. You'd hear footsteps there too, heard by the 3 of us that lived there. Usually when one of us was home alone and everyone was away. My student house was 3 levels and my level was the only one with a bedroom, the other 2 rooms where above me and you'd hear furniture sliding, conversations and footsteps. I'd somehow have the balls to go and see what was going on thinking my housemates were home, even though I would have heard them come up past my level to get to their rooms. Nobody there. My house mate thought that they saw a young man in the kitchen once walking past it out of their peripheral. There were cold spots and feeling of being watched, it wasn't pleasant. I did my best to keep away from the houseshare when my other housemates weren't home.
