A friend of mine was telling me that there is a grave in her local town which is actually not set correctly, I didn’t realise that all graves go a certain way but this one doesn’t! I think it’s from 1600’s/1700’s maybe?

In the town I grew up in, there was a large cemetery at the town church. Me and my brother used to go a lot as kids as some of the squirrals were quite tame. All of the graves faced the church, except for one. I still remember my brother saying it must have been a witch! We were only kids, and it's nearly 40 years ago now but it's always stuck with me.
I live far away from there now, but if I am ever in the area I would hunt it down and google the name.

Reading about the grave that is abandoned and looking dishevelled reminds me of a post I read on reddit or buzzfeed or something, a person noticed a grave that was abandoned and neglected and they felt sorry for them, so started bringing flowers to the grave and tending it. I cant remember the ins and outs but it was someone who killed their wife and kids and it was the murderers grave they had been tending. I shouldnt laugh but....

Over the years, a number of people claim to have 'slipped' into another time period
I haven't been there for years (and I mean years) but as a kid/treenager I always found it a very odd road. It is right in the city centre and central train station was there. The beginning of Bold Street was busy because of the station but as you went further up the road it always got eerily quiet. You could quite easily be the only one walking there. It was just at odds with the rest of the city centre, though it's probably because it just had rubbish shops no one wanted to go to but it always left me feeling uncomfortable. I never experienced any time slips or anything but I can definitely see it happening there.
It's probably full of restaurants and stuff now.
And what do the people in the 'old time' see? Do they see the person who has slipped into their time?

The Strange Case of Imogen’s Time Slip

If this is stoke on trent, this is true. There's local folklore about a 'witch' called Molly leigh. It seems she was just a loner. She lived alone with a blackbird and used to sell watered down milk to locals. She was known to have a bad temper and people were suspicious of her. After she died a local Parson,Rev. Thomas Spencer (of St Johns church, Burlsem) was convinced her blackbird made the beer in the local pub turn sour and the locals become ill. (After Molly died the bird just sat on the sign of the local pub, obv abit lost without Molly) so he had her re-buried the wrong way around (facing north to south at a right angle) and threw in the still living blackbird with her.
However it seems Molly was actually quite a sweetheart and a good businesswoman.In her will she left alot of money to her family and instructed that after they die, the money to be put to good use This cash would be used to buy bread to feed the "poor inhabitants and widows of (local towns) sneyd and Burslem, and she wanted "a hospital in Burslem for the reception and habitation of ... poor women" and to provide food and clothing for these "poor women of the Parish". Historians now believe that the Parson,Rev. Thomas Spencer of the church was hell bent on ruining her reputation as she refused to contribute to the church's upkeep while he spent too much time drinking.
Molly was actually a very lovely lady.
When I was little I grew up on tales of this, and many a Halloween, me and my brother have had scary trips to Burslem Cemetery where my dad has dared us run around her grave singing 'Molly leigh you can't catch me!!!' Locals believe if you run around her grave 3 times saying "Molly Leigh, Molly Leigh, Chase me around the apple tree' that she will appear again.

I was watching Jonathan Ross' Myths and Legends last night. I love these kinds of programmes just for the historical aspect of how a lot of them came about.

Its terrible isn't it? I always think molly leigh (the lady I posted about earlier) should have a proper burial. Its awful that a religious lady should be buried the wrong way on consecrated ground. There was absolutely no reason for it.
In the early 1970’s my late dad was working cleaning the offices of a Solicitor, based in a large old house (dated around the early 1800’s). It was a lovely warm, bright summers evening but as he was bending down to clean the floor of the entrance hall he suddenly felt a really icy chill. He looked up and glimpsed the figure of a girl around 13-14 years of age, dressed in a maid’s uniform solemnly staring down at him through the banisters at the top of the staircase. He said her face was so clear.
My Dad was a RAF WW2 veteran and didn’t scare easily but he was absolutely terrified and ran out of the house. He was the most honest person I know and wouldn’t make this up. Still gives me the chills remembering him telling me all those years ago.
