New thread time!
This is what hand foot and mouth looked like for the kids.Sorry don’t know where else to post this looking for advice
Is this definitely chicken pox? I’m just confused because they have spread, 3 days ago they started of as a little cluster and then the day after they slowly appears more throughout the day to how they are now. But since then, no more have come out and they are only behind her legs, under her armpits and a couple on her elbows. I also think she has a couple in her mouth cos she’s off her food and has a sore throat. Just confused because they never blistered and seem to be scabbing already, and i thought they would spread more to her tummy, back, face? Or do some children just get it worse than others? And would you say these spots are starting to blister already?
I don’t think it’s chicken pox.. my daughters looked like this.. she had loads round her private parts and on her bum cheeks tooSorry don’t know where else to post this looking for advice

Looks like pox to me. Some kids get it worse than others, I know some that are covered head to toe and some with only few. I can’t remember ours blistering really. I would say if she’s been in contact with pox in that time frame it’s almost certain to be it.Thanks for the replies, forgot to add she has been in contact with her cousin who had chicken pox about 3 weeks ago and she has a couple on her bum and a couple on her mouth too but I literally mean like 2
6am isn’t early reallyMini A keeps waking up at 6am (every day) and she’s exhaustedit’s been ongoing for a good week and by Friday she’s just so tired! Putting her to bed earlier doesn’t help, she’s still up at 6am!
We are just having a chill day today, in the garden, I’m hoping a lazy day will make her more sleepy and to get a good sleep! I can’t have another week of her waking up early as Friday will be horrific again..! The joys of kids🫠
Her room is pitch black in broad daylight so no idea why she’s up early, I can’t blame it on the light coming through. It’s early for her and she’s a monster by the end of the week. She’s usually 7am and that’s 5 hours of missed sleep by the end of Friday. Maybe cos it’s warmer or the birds are waking her up, I’m roasting some nights and I sleep in my knickers6am isn’t early really. Not at this time of the year. The sun is up at 4am.
no matter what time I put mine to bed in summer he’s always up 6 ish
Winter he’ll sleep in but never summer
not much you can do about it apart from put it up with
From what you’ve told us she does during the week it’s no wonder she’s so tired
we set off to the beach at 750 this morning and went to Blackpool before the temperature got too hot for our dog. Was lovely!!
She wanted to sleep with the thermometer last night and went mad when she couldn’t have it under her pillowMy toddler currently having a tantrum because we won’t let her wear her dressing gown because it’s 26°![]()
Well I read once that if you sleep without clothes on your body actually keeps you warm to make up for the lack of clothes. I really don’t know how true that is. I always sleep in a thin top in this weatherHer room is pitch black in broad daylight so no idea why she’s up early, I can’t blame it on the light coming through. Ooooooh I’d love to know where you live. I’m about 40 mins from Blackpool, we usually go lytham though!

I have started making sure one day is as chilled as it can be, today we just went to my dads in the paddling pool and it was nice to just relax. We are meant to be going CBeebies on Thursday but I don’t really fancy the drive in the heat, and being all sweaty 🫠 so I think it’ll just be a day in the garden with her paddling pool I think. The thought of getting stuck in crash traffic on the motorway in 27 degrees isn’t for meWell I read once that if you sleep without clothes on your body actually keeps you warm to make up for the lack of clothes. My friend has blackouts and curtains in her daughters room and she said she wakes up at 530
It’s just this time of year
Mines always shattered on a Saturday cos of nursery all week. On Saturdays we usually chill out at home cos he’s not up for much. Sounds the same for you. Maybe one day of the weekend should be a chill day
maybe we live near each other. We went through Lytham past fair haven lake and then parked up near the nice posh houses on the front. I think it was Lytham we went to thinking about it. They’re the same beach in my mind
We live 30 mins away from Lytham
See I’ve never really been much for doing stuff anywayOn the topic of chill days, I have my toddler on Mondays/Fridays. He's usually knackered on a Friday after being at the childminders most of the week. I tend to stick to the house on those days or just have a play out in the garden.
I read a book by Sarah Ockwell-Smith when expecting my eldest and she was a big advocate for having at least one chilled day a week with your kids, starting from baby age. So I blocked off Wednesdays as a day we would potter at home, play, nap and just do as we please. Because, let me tell ya, when they hit school the weekends fill up so fast with parties, playdates and clubs
My two were shattered today but we did soft play in the morning and the heat has been horrendous here today.
The only benefit to this hideous hot weather is that I can chuck my two kids in the garden with the paddling pool. My youngest is now old enough to play without being too much of a toddler devilSee I’ve never really been much for doing stuff anyway. Like all my friends have been to baby sensory. I went once but I didn’t sign up I thought it was expensive. Baby groups just weren’t my thing and by the time we actually started going to them lockdown hit anyway!!
We usually go somewhere like once a month like a paid activity. Don’t tend to in summer though mine absolutely loves being outside or being at home playing with his tractors and dinos
but if I’m working on a saturday his dad is at home with him and they tend to chill out then Sunday we usually do something or vice versa if I’m off Saturdays![]()

I took my six week old to see SantaThe only benefit to this hideous hot weather is that I can chuck my two kids in the garden with the paddling pool. My youngest is now old enough to play without being too much of a toddler devilWould not like to relive the summer I had a contact napping 9 month old with a just turned 3 year old
Now they're 6 and 2.5 which works out very well. Most of the time!
With Big Biscuit I felt there was a lot of FOMO, like taking a 6 month old to visit SantaI did get swept up in it a bit and was slightly grateful to have my youngest during the second 2020 lockdown.
