We were doing pretty well with potty training, she knows when she needs to go and will take herself off HOWEVER only when she has nothing on.
So at nursery she's still having a nappy as she kept having accidents when I would put knickers on her.
Not sure how to get around it.
Mine was like this for about a week and a bit even at home.
Can nursery help her to the toilet and help her
with her pants? Surely they will? Mine struggled with his and they just kept taking him & taking his pants down for him

I think the only way to get around it is keep practising. Keep showing her

I do that every night after she’s gone to bed 😂

I’ve booked our first school tour for September 🥺 at the risk of sounding like an idiot I don’t understand how the whole catchment thing works. I’m in England and I’ve looked up on my local authority website and it’s told me what our catchment school is. But then you have to apply/list three schools you like? So assume we’re happy with catchment that goes down as first choice and then do you pick the next 2 closest schools assuming I like those too?
Do you have to put 3 schools down? I think the max I’ve ever put is 2, but I’ve always got 1st choice, luckily. You can put whatever schools down. When my eldest started school, one of her friends put 6 schools down and he wasn’t given any of them and ended up at a Catholic School that was out of catchment for them

I don’t think I have to put three but if I didn’t get my first choice I think it’s a risk I could end up with a school I don’t like or a school miles away. I don’t know if there’s a way to find out if my daughter is in a high birth year but even then I guess there’s siblings etc that could stop us getting first choice. It’s such a minefield.

All schools are different but most schools don't proritise siblings.
You can view the schools admission policy (not sure what it's actually called)
But siblings is 4th on the list for ours. Catchment area is second priority

Anyone doing anything nice today?
Think we are just gonna chill at home today. Gonna get some treats from the shop & have a movie day 💞
We’ve been out everyday since summer hols started. We had a bit of a rocky start to the morning. He woke up crying a bit last night and I noticed his bandage was half off on his hand. When I checked it this morning it was a bit gooey. I was at the pharmacy at 830 getting new supplies 😩. I still feel terrible about it can’t shake off the guilt😟

Yer, I have known people to put 1 school down and not get it, because they think they are entitled to that place because they’ve only done the 1 🙄
Normally looked after children at 1st priority. As mine have both been catholic schools, they are number 2 and siblings are 3rd. Which is crazy! I always find the lead up to finding out if they got into their schools is one of the worst weeks of my life 😂

Thankyou. He isn’t keen on me touching around it when I’m changing it but he’s doing well. I’ve just changed it this morning it keeps coming unstuck during the night think cos his little hands are warm but it looks like it’s healing thank god. He has to go back on Wednesday for a check up
Aw that sounds like a great day for all of you! Did you get anything nice when shopping

Help! I’ve lost my mind and want to have a full bells and whistles birthday party this year, most attendees will be 3 years old, little one wants an Aurora princess character and I found a company that offers a full package party with her hosting and she wants everyone to come dressed as a princess but I feel like it’ll exclude the kids who aren’t into princesses, what should I do? Hire a second character like a superhero? Or maybe get some superhero decorations alongside? Life size cut outs? Just be selfish and say princesses only?

I wouldn’t suggest everyone comes as a princess. I would just write it on the invite that princess dress up is optional
I’m not sure about getting a superhero as well cos I’ve never done a kids party🙈 I think hiring two characters would be expensive ?? You could just have a super hero themed table instead?

Yer, I agree. Put it on the invites and say dress up optional / come as your favourite princess/superhero. We’ve been to these parties before and if it was princesses the boys have gone as Spider-Man or whoever they were into. I wouldn’t bother with getting 2 entertainers. It would be quite expensive

Thank you guys, I’m not so bothered about the cost as we’ve found out we likely can’t have another child so this is it for us and I’ve decided my midlife crisis shall be going overboard with all child life events from now on 😂

Just can’t tell if I’m overthinking it, we went to a superhero party recently and it was only Spider-Man and all the kids loved it, but I feel like boys would kick up more of a fuss about just a princess, or am I overthinking this?

If money isn’t an option get two entertainers, we went to a party recently and they had a Spider-Man and Cinderella although the party was for a girl and they varied the games up really well. That was for a 5 year old so had lots of classmates so even split of girls and boys.
