My little one has just gone to sleep no arguments or anything. I started bed time at 655. He had a bath at 6 and we’ve been in bed he had the iPad for a bit and then a book then nothing and just gone to sleep in 15 mins bless him. It’s SO much better when he doesn’t fight me 🥹

I’m glad it went well. Ours has been dreadful. 6:30pm told her bathtime in 15 mins. Set a timer on my phone and once it went off she knew it was bathtime, she gave me the iPad no problems and refused to walk or be carried upstairs. I then told her to think about what she wants to do whilst I go and run her the bath.. came back down and she refused to get undressed, managed to get her undressed and carried her upstairs.

She’s just NONE STOP screaming, horrible whining cry that make my ears wanna burst. Got in the bath and she won’t even sit down, she’s that worked up over me carrying her upstairs ??!! Quick wash and told her she’s not getting the iPad after bathtime it’s dressed, teeth and bed. She needed a wash as she was all sweaty and dirty from nursery, if she wasn’t dirty I wouldn’t have bothered tbh.

Brushed her teeth no issues, happily walks to her bedroom and we read a few books that she’s picked. Then she wants one more and the drama/screaming begins. I just told her no and cuddled her to sleep.

WHY do we need the drama!!!

I wouldn’t mind but it’s not even over the iPad, she gives that to me no problem.

Sick of horrible ear piercing screaming that’s not needed!!!! 🫠🫠🫠🫠

Should I be concerned that my 15 month old only has 4 teeth?

No I don’t think so. My 3 year old had all her teeth near enough by 2 but I know some kids who haven’t got all their baby teeth yet at 3!

Not at all. My 3rd didn’t have any teeth until she was over 13 months, so wouldn’t have even had 4 at that age. She had a full set before she was 3. Some kids just teethe later than others. My no4 didn’t have any until he was 12 months. He just turned 2 and only has 11.

Thank you for the reassurance. It’s been eating my up for weeks now. I was starting to worry and panic. Everyone I know who has kids of a similar age their kids seem to have more teeth than my daughter.

Thank you for the reassurance. It’s been eating my up for weeks now. I was starting to worry and panic. Everyone I know who has kids of a similar age their kids seem to have more teeth than my daughter.

Yes all kids always have more teeth than my babies too. And at a point you do kinda think is something wrong here? My sister had no teeth until she was 18 months!
The good news is the later they come in, the less time you have to worry about them! They tend to fall out later as well. My oldest son is 7.5 and hasn’t lost any yet.

yeah she went to bed fine and up at half 7! Woop. I think she was just tired, she was up at 5.45am Monday morning and 2 full days at nursery.

It’s so sunny here today so after swimming gunna go to the park

No mines the exact same! He’s almost 17 months now and just had his two top canines come through in the past week bringing him up to six teeth!

5yo is on her second tooth wobbly, first one is out she's only 2 months into being 5 as well. Not even like she's nearly 6
I thought we had more time as the 10yo didn't loose his until 7 either

I certainly don't remember mine coming through. I'd never know unless I looked in the mirror.

The kids have never complained.
5yo was surprised to see her tooth growing the other day so she clearly can't reel it.

Wisdom teeth are the only ones people tend to have issues with I think

how bizarre that it doesn’t hurt them.. is it cos they’ve already moved down or something?! I don’t remember mine hurting actually!

It depends, if they come through the "supposed" spot then no.

However my 10yo has an overcrowded mouth (has braces fitted next year) so his teeth have come through where they wouldn't normally one has grown through the space behind the actual location& it was agony for him.

So it all depends on the child to be fair.

Does anyone have any advice for helping my toddler with conjunctivitis? He’s just in pain bless him and he absolutely hates me wiping the gunk from his eyes. We went the gp this morning and they prescribed him chloramphenicol ointment. He was ok just full of gunk but still happy and playing but since i put the ointment in he’s been quiet and crying.

Also how do you deal with asking your work for time off when your child is sick I don’t have many help for childcare and he’s in no fit state for nursery… I’ve only been working for 4 months since I became a Mum as i had 3 years nearly as a sahm, managed to get today off but worrying cos I might need more and don’t know how to approach the situation

I have rang in TONS of times over 4 years when mines been unwell. We don’t get paid for it where I work but it just goes down as unpaid leave or special leave depending what the illness is. I’ve just said won’t be in today my little one is unwell.
have you tried cleaning with just warm (boiled) water and a cotton pad just wipe once and then get a fresh one and wipe againn
Might soothe it as well as get the gunk out. When mine had it his eye swelled up like a golf ball!!! And they gave us some thick cream to point on it. Was rank.

Oh bless him. My little girl had conjunctivitis a year or so ago, but she wasn't in pain with it and with the ointment it cleared really quickly. I caught it off her at the time, and it is horrible as your eyes are so itchy. I would say if he's no better in a day or two speak to the GP. Unfortunately there's not much can be done, just lots of cuddles

He just seems so much worse after i’ve used the ointment, he’s fell asleep on the sofa but keeps letting out little cries every so often. I was thinking maybe the ointment is stinging/irratating him and he doesn’t know how to express it??

Feel mean but the only way that i can describe that he looks like is like this meme

It could be. The one we had was a cream more than ointment. Ring them up in the morning I would if I was you!! Hope he’s ok through the night

Mini A has conjunctivitis probably 4 times a year. It’s worse in winter especially at nursery and cough, colds etc.. I usually know when she’s getting it with the buildup of sleep she gets and as soon as I see it I go and buy the cream. You can buy it from boots now and I always have some in the cupboard for the next round of it. I also find the cream easier than drops as I just smear it over her eye when she’s watching iPad or not realising I’m doing it. She understands “sticky eyes” now and realises it’ll help them get better.

I don’t use wipes or tissue as a GP told me it can make it worse with the fibres of the wipes/tissue and to use a cloth like a sponge as there’s none of that residue after it if that makes sense.

Nursery policy where she goes is they can go as long as they’ve got cream or drops so I’ve never needed time off for it but if I did, I’d just say she’s got conjunctivitis along with upset tummy so can’t go into nursery. Work can’t sack you for childcare issues anyway even if it went that far with attendance. Kids get sick it’s part and parcel of life!! X

sometimes I think mini A has signs but then I think she’s just being a toddler.. she twizzles her hair quite a lot and sometimes she lines toys etc up.. but googling it it’s normal!

It's hard to tell with toddlers because a lot of autism signs are normal toddler behaviour.
Which is one reason it's quite hard to get a diagnosis before scho age
