Really scary isn’t it! I don’t think a cough is a symptom but look out for any earache, sore throat, muscle aches or high temp. I’d forgotten but last week my daughter was saying her legs hurt after being out for a bit.

I’ve kept her home from preschool this week as I really want her to rest and get better. She’s been ill for over two weeks. She’s now on her fourth day of antibiotics and hasn’t had a high temp today or said her ears hurt so I think she should be ok once this course of amoxicillin is finished but will be keeping a close eye on her. Hope your little one is better soon and you’re not too anxious ❤

We watched bit of tv I took him up for a bath as soon As I got him dried and dressed he climb into my bed and fast asleep within seconds. Im worried there’s something wrong😩

Just found this thread! Haven't read all the comments but my daughter turned two a couple of months ago. At the moment we are going through the tantrum stage, it comes in waves. When we have them though it's quite a lot and they are exhausting.
It will just be the smallest thing eg I said no to something, I took the plug out the bath, I put her back in the pram after walking.
I get so frustrated and admittedly shout sometimes. I feel bad afterwards but I'm really struggling.
I'm in constant pain with RA and can't walk well so when she's in the midst of it I can't pick her up.
She's also started hitting at times and just being so demanding.
What can I do 😭
Myself and her dad have literally separated and even though she goes to his a couple of nights every week I wonder if it's affected her?
Like we have stayed in the house and she will often ask for dad.
Just want to know that I'm not alone 😭

God getting eye drops into a 3 year old should be known as a form of contraception, because if I didn’t think my baby shop was closed yet it certainly bleeping is now 😬

Oh it’s horrific isn’t it. The first day was hell but we’ve worked it out now with lots of preparation, she pretends to do some soft toys and mine and hers and then watches my phone while I do it. She then gets 3 chocolate buttons after 😂😂 will be so glad once these are done!

We tried literally everything I could think of, every tactic that normally works. The poor girl is absolutely terrified at the minute of everything medical, she’s been put on inhalers for suspected asthma which are a battle, she sobbed her heart out when babyGG had bronchiolitis and we were up at A&E, we had to use her blue inhaler for the first time last week which has really spooked her and now she’s woke up today with conjunctivitis. I ended up having to put it on her closed eye and then just lifting her eyelid slightly to let it go in. It just feels relentless at the minute for her, I know she’s so fed up but she just doesn’t realise everything we’re doing is to help her get better bless her ☹

Hi,

I hope you’re ok.

My daughters Dad and I split up when she was 1, won’t go into detail of the why but she’s been very much used to the same routine.

She stays with me during the week and he comes round to see her on a Wednesday evening whilst I go to the gym and then we split the weekend. But I often get asked to pick her up abit earlier cos she’s crying for me, and she’s nearly 3! I spend a lot of time with her (I only work 3 days a week) and she’s mummy through and through.

my advice is keep a consistent routine for her going there and make sure when you get her back that you’re not stuck in the kitchen, or you’re not doing other things. I saw a video on this co parenting page about it and it said they have to transition back into their usual home. So for instance on the weekend day she’s coming back to me, I’ll make sure I’ve already prepped tea, and I can literally sit on the sofa with her and fill up her “emotional” cup, I’ll do whatever she wants me to do and I’ll spend quality time with her. I don’t do anything on the evening that she’s back apart from give her my full attention and I’ve found it works well.

I also found her dad coming here helped it cos she was still seeing him but she didn’t have to leave her home or me, whereas if she stayed there it wasn’t fair cos she was going here there and everywhere it felt and there was no need. We don’t argue and we are really civil now but it’s taken a year to get to this point! Let me tell you the amount of arguement we’d have at handover over stupid things and now we don’t even disagree really.

its hard at first but it gets easier xx

the behaviour is normal toddler behaviour though don’t worry xx

So he didn’t wake up last night and is still asleep now. Maybe he is growing !?😂
Mini A slept 8pm to 9am on Sunday morning! And the last 2 days I’ve had to wake her up….. typical though she doesn’t sleep in past 7am on the day we are off😂😒

I’m off work today and I still woke up at 620🙈. I touched his head to feel him and he turned over. I’m gonna keep him off pre school today. He must be tired poor thing. He hasn’t been sleeping well during the night cos of his cough 😖😖

I feel a bit silly worrying about him so much last night when I think he was just extra extra tired 🙈. I’ve kept him off pre school today and he’s fine. He’s been dancing & all sorts 🙈. Bloody kids. The other month i asked my friend who also has a son at what age do we stop checking their still breathing at night and she just said 18 🤣🤣🤣. Being a parent is constant worry isn’t it 🤯🤯.

Thanks for this reply, I really appreciate it!
I work four days a week, only just dropped the Friday and she goes into nursery as well. We have been very civil and amicable, still message each other regularly about her and even went out all together for the evening. I'm hoping it continues because it's so much easier however makes me sad that why couldn't we get on actually living together.
I will try to actually spend more time with her I did drop the Friday so that we could have three full days together. It's hard when you finish work at half five though then got to get dinner sorted etc.
I did think it was less of an upheaval if she stayed at the house but I do wonder if it affects her.
The benefit for his end is he's gone back home so she is with his family as well.

I've mentioned before that even with my 9 year old, if he sleeps even 5 minutes later than usual. In my head I'm like "he's dead. He must be." 😂
Then in they walk 10 minutes later 😂
Every single time.

Oh, so you also leave him, even though you think he’s dead, because anything’s better than actually waking him up, right? Because this is definitely me 😂

Yes. And then to convince myself it's okay to leave them (it sounds terrible and would like to confirm if I was seriously worried, it wouldn't be the case 😂)
But I'm like well, if they're already dead, waiting another 30 minutes or so to see if they get up won't make a difference. 🤣

duck off 😂 are you me? This is exactly me in the mornings if a child is still asleep. I then also run through my head if they actually were dead and I’d find them. What a thought to have 🫠
