Swear to god this girl of mine better be prime minister or CEO of something one day that guarantees me a cushy retirement in return for surviving the toddler years with a strong minded, determined, argumentative little being!

Oh gosh, sounds like we're all full of illness right now! Swear to God, she better develop an immune system of STEEL after all this.
I haven't slept with my partner in about 6 weeks (as in physically slept, not sexy time  ) because she's been waking so much and needing someone in with her at nights (and I sort of pretend to be asleep most of the time so he draws the short straw)
I mean, I get a king size bed to myself but it is lonely 😬

I know the feeling. Mine is asleep on my shoulder right this second. He wanted to go to bed!! He’s so tired and run down i feel so sorry for him. Just when we get over one illness he’s sick again!!! This little girl at nursery was coughing horribly the other morning when she was near him and I knew he’d get it. I mean it can’t be helped but Jesus I’m sickkkkkk of it 😳😂

Last year was a horror show for illness in our house, it felt like between September and May there were only about 2 weeks where someone wasn't ill, I think it was a beautiful combination of first year of nursery plus the added bonus of being post lockdowns so all of our immune systems were rubbish.
I know it's only December but this year has been so much better so keep the faith, hopefully next year won't be as bad for you guys!

Mine has been in Nursery since April last year and he’s constantly Unwell 😔😂. We’re used to it now !!

Omg yes I can totally relate. And always then feel so guilty once she’s asleep for just being annoyed and losing my patience constantly 😩 it’s so difficult, I really try to take deep breaths, explain for the millionth time why we’re doing something, “positive parenting” etc etc but at some point it’s enough. And then it doesn’t help when she comes and asks “mama mad?” Breaks my heart 😪
but why does she need to argue and contest every single thing, from changing diaper to eating, even when playing if I don’t follow her precise instructions all hell breaks loose 🤣 Toddlerhood is giving me gray hairs I swear

Mine was a perfect delight until she was almost 3 and since then she's been a little hellraiser! But she's so funny and cute and perceptive too, not to mention too smart for her own good.

And after all of the hell she's put me through today she went to sleep on her own tonight for the first time ever, normally me or more usually my husband as I'm almost always feeding the baby to sleep currently, have to cuddle her while she falls asleep but tonight she actually did it with my husband leaving her and popping back every 3 minutes! So I've gone from enraged to mega proud haha.

There’s nothing quite like the guilt after you’ve blown up at them during a meltdown, and they snap out of it and you’re left feeling like tit because they’re just the best little person & really you should know better but in that moment? It’s breaking point & you just can’t take anymore, then you start shouting. The worst.

I don’t know if it’s the build up to Christmas & they’re starting to be over stimulated, but EVERYONE I know with 3/4 year olds is having a bleeper of a time at the moment.

You’re all doing amazingly, even with the shouty breaks.

My 3yo was testing me yesterday. Probably not as bad as I felt, but because I felt tit, he was really getting to me. Anyway, I sat with him about 7 last night, and he went ‘feeling better mummy?’ And I honestly nearly suffocated him I hugged him so hard 😭

When they’re so affection/comforting when you cry it’s just testament to how they’re being brought up. They’re empathetic, understand feelings, know it’s okay to cry. That’s what I tell myself anyway 😅

Honestly, he is the most caring 3 yo (he’s a proper mummys boy). Don’t get me wrong though, he moans, a lot, but he’s such a little character, which I hope stays with him as his sister is a typical teen, and his 6yo brother is turning into a proper boy 😂

7 minutes it took my 3 year old to say sorry to me and get off the naughty step! She had a battle with me over getting her pjs on. I lost it… I’d had enough by this point 🙃🙃🙃🙃

Spent 3 hours at out of hours gp in the hospital today despite having an appointment. Turns out my daughter has an upper respiratory infection, tonsillitis, an ear infection and conjunctivitis. The eye drops have been hell getting them in but she’s done so well waiting and being checked over by the doctor. Honestly to look at her you’d never know she’s unwell until she randomly spikes a fever and needs to rest. Her eye only started getting gunky when we were in the doctors room but had been weepy yesterday.

Bless her that’s a lot to have wrong at once! Hope she makes a quick recovery and hope it’s not too tiring for you whilst you’re pregnant! x

I know I was quite surprised. I did think was an ear infection but the tonsillitis and conjunctivitis was out of the blue. Thank you! She’s been running around like nothings wrong all evening but I know I’ll end up being stuck in the bed with her tonight from bedtime.

Oh bless her! What a combination of awful things. At least she should be on the mend soon though :)

This is day three of my little one coughing in my face 😂😂. He fell asleep on the sofa at 4. Couldn’t be helped and he’s just gone to bed now. He’s proper hoarse and really snotty. I really feel for him
