Only tuning with the Gro clock that doesn't make sense to me is that I thought blue light was supposed to disturb sleep. So why did they make it blue 😂 not that we've ever had any issues though 😂
We’ve got the purflo version of it and ours is the same, yellow during the day and blue at night. I didn’t think it made sense either, we have had a few bad nights because of it (or at least that’s what I think it was).
Sorry to hear Ivy is still so poorly, hopefully she starts to show some proper signs of improvement quickly. It must be really hard for you both being away from home for so long and her being poked and prodded all day and night x

SO.

Just need some encouragement or something I don’t really know what.

Mini A woke up from her disaster night at 9:30am and she had no nappy on and she said mummy wee and she was about to wee, she managed to hold it till I could sit her on the toilet (with her toilet seat on it), and she did a wee. Then after pumpkin picking she didn’t have a nappy on cos I was letting her bum /etc air dry as she’s got bad nappy rash. She sat on her potty (I had it out anyway) and she did a poo, then before she just had knickers on to see and we were in her playroom and she said mummy wee wee and ran to the potty but she couldn’t get there in time.

This is positive and I’m going to keep it up till bedtime, and tomorrow too.. but are these signs she’s ready? Atleast better signs than last time I tried 😂🥳

Yeah that sounds like she’s definitely ready! Even if she has some accidents because she doesn’t make it on time, the fact she’s aware she needs to go and knows where to do it is a great sign. Fingers crossed she will pick it up quite quickly now!

Thanks all xxx going to carry it on. I’ve not got a sticker chart so I’m giving her mini chocolate Santas everytime she goes, I’d say that’s better than a sticker 😂

Me again. After tea I sat her straight on the potty and she did a wee!!!!!!! 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 I’m so proud of her. I feel overwhelmed though I just feel like arfhhhhhhhhhh omg 😂

This is so good! Especially conquering a poo on the potty!! I can’t remember where I heard it (prob the baby thread. Probably @WhatABore 😂) but don’t ask her if she needs a wee. Tell her she is going to the toilet and put her on. Don’t give her the option and let her think about it

She sounds ready!
My biggest tips (feel free to ignore though as every child is different!) would be to not confuse her at all so no nappies other than at sleep times, so nothing for car journeys etc, she has to know that if she's awake then wees and poos go in the potty/toilet.
Get her using the toilet from day 1 if you can. We didn't and still can't get ours using it 2 months on (despite the fact she never has accidents and hasn't in a long time).
I'd personally ditch the treats asap and let the intrinsic reward of learning it be the treat but that's more of a personal preference.

Thank you. I’ll honestly take all the tips on board!

I’ll stop asking her and put her on it every hour or so then 😂 I think I read that somewhere too.

She really thrives off rewards and praise so it works for us, I’ve got a sticker chart coming tomorrow though so no more choc choc, soz mini A hahahaha.

She will sit on the toilet if needed but we dont have one downstairs so I don’t want to keep rushing her upstairs xx

Update- soon as she woke up at 5.45 she came into my bedroom and the potty was there from last night so she sat on it and said wee wee, and then when we came down for breakfast she did a wee herself on the potty and I didn’t have to ask her or even sit her on it 🥳 What should I do about nursery Monday and Tuesday? I won’t take her with a nappy on cos nappies are only for bedtime now but she’s staying with no bottom half on here just for ease cos she/we can’t get her knickers down fast enough😂

Nursery have a lot of experience with toilet training, you don’t need to worry about it there.

I know 😂 I just worry! She’s done so well and she’s done a wee on the potty again now although it was tiny but she’s really understanding it. I’m so so proud of her and I never thought I’d be at this point, my dad made a joke the other day that she would be in nappies till she was going to school and I thought go away! They do it in their own time. Compared to a month ago she is so ready 💖

Just send loads and loads of spare clothes & expect a lot of accidents that day, but don’t let it put you off at all. So many distractions at nursery!

Have you tried? (Did you say your LB has autism? From the Emma Mcvey thread) maybe I’m getting confused.. I know you’re on a few threads I’m on I can’t remember them😂

I find the whole thing just stressful. People are always asking you if they’re talking, walking, crawling, napping etc.. LEAVE ME ALONE! Next it’ll be comparing how they’re all doing in school! Kids learn and do things at their own rate. I didn’t have any intentions of trying potty training it’s just fell randomly.

No that’s not me. Nursery “think” he has some additional needs but they haven’t said what it’s on going. He is behind with his speech as well . I have tried … i mentioned it to nursery and she said not to bother yet as he doesn’t give the queues at nursery he does at home?🤷🏼‍♀️ It’s half term this week so I think I might give it another go

That’s fantastic! We tried with my son in the summer and it was a disaster, he just wasn’t ready and didn’t understand at all. Hoping if we give it some time and leave it until the end of the year he might be ready.

My son has delayed speech too and I think it is harder for them as a big part of it is communicating which is that little bit more work for them. Hope it works for you this time but if not he will get there in his own time. x

Yeah definitely!! At home if he’s done a wee or a poo he will touch front or back of his nappy and also sometimes brings me a nappy!!! But at nursery they said he doesn’t do that 😑. And this morning I took his nappy off and tried to get him to sit on the potty but he got up and brought me a nappy again 😂.
Thankyou! That’s very reassuring. It’s so hard isn’t it especially when my friends kids are miles ahead. But nursery said they will support me to get him out of them before he goes into reception I set it as one of our targets

Both my boys were only potty/toilet trained just before they turned 4. Had failed attempts with them both and I found it too stressful as they just weren’t ready so I just waited, and then they were fine with it.

Sorry to go back a few messages but I found when I had my second I made most of their dinners in the slow cooker at breakfast time (still do now!)
That way they are busy while I am prepping and then it’s just a case of dishing up at dinner time. Everyone’s routines are different but I found my slow cooker a godsend!

Thanks that makes me feel much better 💖. It’s so hard not to worry but there’s no point forcing it is there
