That no matter how clean my house is I always get tiny, teeny black flies randomly flying in my face! Wether I'm watching TV, sitting in bed, in the kitchen... The buggers are everywhere! Please tell me I'm not alone! What the duck are they! Annoying bleeps 😒

Didn’t learn it today (learned it from a question on The Chase USA lol) but the most played song in the history of the world is Disney’s “It’s a small world after all”, the logic being is there are at least one, if not more, of the “it’s a small, small world” rides installed in every single Disney theme park worldwide. Whenever they are operating, that 2-3 minute song gets played on a loop, over and over again… (fun fact, I was once on that ride and it broke down and I was trapped in there for an hour listening to that song).

Jesus that must have been beyond awful. Can you drop out if the case is like that and you cannot cope? I know people who have been barristers in similar cases showing images etc to the jury and I don't know how the jury could deal with it. I know I couldn't
I
We were told we could only get out of it if we had a reasonable excuse and these seemed to be limited to if you knew any of the people involved e.g. witnesses etc. or perhaps places where the incidents took place. I don't think you could just say you didn't like the subject matter of the particular trial. Not sure what they would have done if you just had a panic attack or something during the trial lol. Presumably that would be a medical reason to be allowed to duck out at the point.

They weren't nice cases of course but there were no images or anything like that so it could have been worse I think. Obviously hearing descriptions of the things that went on etc. wasn't pleasant.

Maybe fruit flies or flies off plants, do you have indoor plants? We sometimes get those little flies in our office because of the plants they have dotted around. I don’t know the solution I’m afraid.

That when Sum up appears on your online banking, it is the card reader used , not the company you bought from .
Silly me thought that I'd been seriously overcharged by someone else.

I had this problem with flies. Turned out they were coming from soil in some of my plants. I treated the soil with a spray solution I made myself - tap water with Hydrogen Peroxide ( via YouTube advice) and it was very effective.

When I did jury duty, i got called for a historic child sex abuse case. As soon as they announced what it was, I burst into tears and got escorted from the court. I could hardly breathe outside as I tried to explain that I didn't think I could cope with it. I was excused.

this whlle trend of random acts of kindness, with people leaving books or little crocheted gifts or stickers or painted stones etc for strangers to find and spread joy and whatever - i saw a post on FB from someone I know who had found an "act of kindness" iced biscuit that someone had left somewhere in town, decorated with a positive quote/caption! and like sure, cute idea - but even packaged, i very much would not be eating a biscuit I found in a random location, lying in a flower bed or placed on a wall or on top of a tree stump, while walking to work! 🙄🙄

so yeah, TDIL that people hide biscuits in random places outside for strangers to find - and that some people are trusting enough to eat them! 🤷🏻‍♂️

Just learned that Celine Dion is only 55, I thought she was at least late 60s?? This means she was only 30 when she sang My Heart Will Go On🤔

I’m sorry if I will sound totally dumb but I thought that Tina Turner was dead already a long time ago. I was shocked when the BBC notification came on my phone that she had died only now.

I knew Tina wasn’t dead already but many other celebrities, when the death announcements come I really do think they died years ago. Especially the older they are

Not the same but i was on itvbe and saw a Rolf Harris documentary advertised and I totally forgot he existed so googled out of curiosity to see if he was still in jail and then literally the next day his death was announced. I know its just coincidence but I find it weird when stuff like that happens

Even some developing nations have better labour rights (holidays, minimum wage etc) than USA

"How many days of US paid holiday are American
workers entitled to?

US workers are not legally entitled to any paid holiday at all.

However, in reality, most US employers offer paid vacation time to their workers. The number of days varies from employer to employer, but on average, US workers receive around ten days of paid holiday each year.

Ita madness! I had heard about teachers there doing other jobs during summer and didn't get it until I saw a post on social media asking how they managed during summer. The US really is a disaster for normal workers

I have a friend in the US, he's a school psychiatrist in Iowa and he gets 6 days holiday a year!
It's terrible!
