I've read it a couple of times now and I like it even more each time I read it (although I don't agree with some of it). I like CT, unlike some of the other influencers (Channel Mum lot for example) she is creative, not just about the ADs, and I like her lists, they are generally pretty interesting. She's going through the same journey as FB is now itself - from edgy disrupter where making mistakes is fine if it's at the expense of creativity, to more of a mature business which has greater responsibilities in terms of transparency, ethical behaviour and social responsibility.
All start ups go through this journey which is why some entrepreneurs that enjoy the buzz of the early days get out when the reality of running a business on a day to day basis (and the boring responsibilities of compliance with various rules) takes over.
FB's reputation is being shredded daily as more news comes out about its dodgy practices of monetising private data for advertising revenue. I think Clemmie will soon prefer to have 'influencer' on her CV than Facebook tbh.
Interesting that a lot of the comments under the post are from influencers or wannabe influencers, wanting some validation of what they do.
Absolutely no problem with influencers making money from what they do, just do it ethically.
