How have I only just found this thread now the case is closed! 😫
I left my normal threads ( truff is boring anyways) to follow the echo’s daily updates, was talking to myself saying the evidence and prosecution’s case was shite, he will walk away from this based on the evidence presented, we all know he is guilty but will the jury convict on evidence presented or will they convict on what they have already saw in the media and read on the internet about Cashman.
Hence the guilty verdict.
Merseyside Police need to up their game when getting evidence as he could have easily walked.
Too many of the police are working on Truffs big massive case, not enough room for any more crimes 😒

we dont even know if he is a drug dealer, he probably does much higher stuff then selling weed to his mates, its all part of his lie.
I clocked how he made a point to say he doesn't sell Class A's. £20 says he's big in the smack and crack/coke game.

Interested to hear your thoughts if you don’t mind me asking? Do you not think the witness testimony is strong enough?
I feel like it leaves a question of doubt, she admitted herself she was infatuated but he wasn’t interested in anything more. Her partner owed him a large sum in drug debt too. The forensic evidence wasn’t very strong in my opinion either. I think he did it, but if I was on the jury, based on the evidence that’s been reported, could I be sure that the prosecution had proved beyond reasonable doubt it was him? I don’t think so.

telling that some of us believe her and accept she isnt a saint and some just think she is trash, slag etc. If there is that kind of split on the jury then the defence has done their job of putting doubt.
I also imagine it will be the same with Nicky McHale, turning up in the same top and trainers is embarrassing. I doubt the jury will have bought that.

I don't condone carrying on with anyones partner, its a rats game.
But why just call her, he had a bird he had kids he's a hitman and yous are dragging the one person who's been brave enough to come forward.
Shit that.
---

She might be a head the ball and have been having an affair but in my eyes she's got more balls than any off them shitbags / grafters protecting that murdering shithead.
THIS. She blew her whole life up to get him here and if it wasn’t for her he wouldn’t be there. That fact she shagged a taken man is irrelevant at this point.

Ah so glad I found this thread… ive been boring people on other crime threads as I’m v closely following. The Echos live reporting is excellent.

I’m sure he‘s guilty as hell but I reckon his performance today will have put a lot of doubt in the jurys minds. The prosecution case just isnt as compelling as I hoped.

Also he’s doing a good job of portraying himself as harmless local cannabis dealer - local lad, lots of pals. Where as the prosecution witness allowed the defence barrister to completely wind her up as she came across as unhinged. Where as he is calm, consider.

quite worrying at this stage for poor Olivia’s family.

I’m not 100% convinced it’s him. I have a feeling he knows who did it and is associated with them but I really doubt it’s I’m physically.
Sorry but you're wrong. It was him. It's a well known fact in this city. He's murdered people before.

I think she's only talked because she's tied up with the assisting a offender stuff with her bf it will come out after this case.
Agreed. She fully left the city then got apprehended on the train by armed squad. She had no choice but to go witness otherwise she would have been getting done for assisting an offender. If she hadn’t have been arrested would she have come forward? Doubtful.

This makes no sense, Thomas Cashman didn't go to trial for assisting an offender he went to trial for being the offender- why would his pal admitting to assisting an offender (a completely different crime than murder) logically stop Thomas's case (that of murder) from going to trial?
If anything it would've enhanced the possibility and possibly been included in the CPS's decision making process to bring to trial.
The matter in hand was that cashman was the alleged offender and Russell had assisted him. Irrespective of Russell’s plea - it still wouldn’t have been reported on or brought up in cashmans trial so as not to prejudice it. It’s confusing in cases like this as technically speaking cashman had not yet been convicted therefore how can he assist the accused offender when there was no proof the crime had taken place at that point. Russell could have gone not guilty and if cashman then got a not guilty Russell’s charge would have more than likely been thrown out whereas if cashman got guilty which he did russell would have been bang to rights. Russell obv anticipated that cashman would be convicted and also maybe russell just has a conscious and slight morals and that’s why he chose to plead guilty straight away after all a gorgeous innocent girl was murdered how any man can stand by and not own up to their parts in it is beyond me

So glad he’s been found guilty. It’s too close to home for me. I grew up around that area and have family that still live there. Olivia went to the same school as my nephews (my old school).

Merseyside police are saying the side chick has had more threats then they’ve ever dealt with.

Reading how she’s praised in the papers I think she’ll get the reward money.

I also hope she doesn’t out herself in a few years people are baying for her blood.
Ffs scum. Putting ‘grassing’ above the murder of a child. Like Cashman is that fucking important.

You know what. Sam Walker talks shit sometimes but I can’t help have a soft spot for him. I think he does a lot of good. Even if he does post it on social media
He’s another venom to the city, have you read his thread on here? He certainly doesn’t do a lot of good, that’s what he portrays online an wants people to believe he’s some big hero

My area is always full of police and crime and I’m a nosy neighbour and I’m always on the step when anything happens on my estate, since this incident I’ve been more careful as you never know what can happen. That’s just what it’s like in Liverpool though and obviously other city’s, it’s your area and you’d never expect that
