My beautiful dog, Tosca, died this morning. She was 13 years 11 months. She was my best friend. I don't know what I'll do without her.

This is my rescue boy Dodger. He's a Kerry Blue Terrier and an absolute knob head at times but I love him to bits. They are a really smart but stubborn breed and very people focused. He's not too bothered by other dogs but is not at all keen on brachy dogs or a neighbours boxer dogs. He absolutely loved bananas and will cry if you eat one without giving him a piece. This was when he found a collapsed tunnel to a badger sett. Thankfully he overcame the breed's origin of hunting badgers and didn't try to dig in.

First zooms around the garden at high speed yesterday, then tried to dig a large hole (maybe trying to impress the dog next door who was watching her through fence)
She slept all night last night for the first time & I heard her attempting the stairs in hall this morning, grabbing cushions from settee & tossing them around is a new game too.

About 7 weeks now since we got her from the rescue place, what a rascal, if she's not getting what she wants will steal your shoe or try & take a bit of your clothing to play with in order to get your attention
Digging holes all over the garden, not to mention the 5 minute crazy zooms then rolling around in mud the other day.
Discovered she is very timid though when out, scared of her own shadow tbh so we only hope she will become more confident over time.
Just makes me think how she had been treated during her racing, always felt that Greys love to run but hate racing.
It didn't help last week out on a walk, with a numpty & his dog off lead, we tried to evade but it kept following, circling her & she flipped, hackles up, baring her teeth & 2ft in the air, I gave the dickhead owner both barrels but he couldn't care less.
She's a lovely hound.

Good luck at the vets!

Vets went well, it is same one we used for our previous Greyhounds, she used to work at the dog tracks & is brilliant.
Got her ears cleaned, annual vaccination & worm/flea/tick application to use over the weekend.
Once Tara has settled properly at home she'll go back & get teeth tidied up.
Bit of an ordeal getting her in the car again lol.
Now worn out

Potato dog has gone for his forever sleep, we have paw prints and nose prints and I hope he knows how loved he truly was. Can everyone give their pups a big snuggle from me tonight as it's so quiet here without him. I managed to snuggle him one last time, which meant so much as with his deterioration meant that I hadn't been able to without the risk of being violently bitten. He was the softest boy ever before his little mind lost control. I told him that he's going to be the best guardian angel our baby has as I'm currently pregnant. I don't know how I'm going to get through without him.

Think we are going to put one of our dogs to sleep very soon probably this week maybe or the next. She’s bad on her legs now and has multiple other health issues. Her quality of life isn’t very good anymore. It’s been coming for a while. One of her conditions she got diagnosed ages 12 years and usually surgery is done to resolve it but as it is a horrible recovery we did medical management and she’s been on that for 3 years now. Surprising she’s been in medical management so long as usually it gets to the stage surgery needs to be done or put to sleep. She would be 16 years in October so she’s had a long life. I’m sad not but I’ve kind of come to terms with it thinking it was going to happen much sooner than it has. This time last year I generally thought we’d have to put her to sleep.

I’m fostering at the moment and in the same position, never been in a house, had no idea what a toy is and we’re still struggling with walks and fear, it’s defo a journey, best of luck with everything xx

We took her out in the car earlier to a large, quiet area by the estuary & she was fine, started off pulling hard on the lead but soon calmed down a lot, eventually walking nicely.
Never reacted to a couple of passing dogs either, it's traffic, loud car noises she doesn't like/isn't used to yet.
We have a lot of buses & cars that pass along the bottom of the road so I might walk her up & down our street very early tomorrow morning when it's deserted.

I'm old and don't know how to post a pic, but my collie is 5 this month, where does the time go, feels like yesterday when we got him. Pity they don't live for longer, so heartbreaking when they go, my last boy broke my heart.

Still got my adorable boy but also owners of a 4yr old staffy female. Rescue dog. She's adorable and settled well, she's like a puppy with ADHD though and clumsy as hell which gives her quite the character
