He said before that when Mila is 18, him and Lazy are off in the van alone and the chuldrun can stay at the house. Today he wonders who will look after the girls and Jace when him and Lazy die. Surely he's hoping they've got a good 30 years plus left to live, so the kids will be able to look after themselves and have their own homes. Unless he thinks the bizarre cult lifestyle means they'll never gain any independence or relationships and will still be squealing in toyshops and believing in Father Christmas/the Easter Bunny in their 30's and 40's.

The flip flops and socks sparked a memory for me. Anybody remember when they went to Australia but they were too fucking thick to understand that it was winter over there and they were rocking about in their flip flops and summer gear, while Sarah was complaining about how cold it was and that it was getting dark so early (they ended up flying 12 hours to stay in a hotel room and watch pretty women)

Apparently there were two different cakes available when Lazy was shopping for Isla's birthday - the pink sponge and also a more expensive, yellow sponge. When Lazy asked the shop assistant why the yellow one was three times the price of the pink one, the lady replied, "Well, that one's madeira cake."
