There’s some brilliant posts on here! 😂

I met up with one of my oldest friends last night and she reminded me of something that I’d blocked from my mind 😂 it wasn’t a date as such but there’s definite ‘Ick’

Back in my early 20’s we’d had a new bloke start at work, he was harmless enough but he was what I refer to as a ‘nosey b’ used to ask everyone loads of questions even when it was something completely mundane and if you ever ended up on your own with him he just wouldn’t take the hint when the conversation naturally dried up and he’d just continue talking at you.

As far as I’m aware I gave him no signals but he kept asking me to go for a drink with him, I kept saying no but it didn’t seem to deter him. One of the times he’d asked me to go for a drink straight from work, I told him I couldn’t go as I was meeting my friend, she was back up from Uni and we were going for food and a few drinks in town (not far from where I worked at the time) hadthe usual thing of who was my friend, where did she go to Uni, what was she studying, where were we going? Blah, blah, blah 🙄

As I’d gone to leave work that night my colleagues said to have a nice night and one had said that we ought to go to a particular bar as they did amazing cocktails.

So I met my friend and we headed to this bar that my colleague had mentioned, got our drinks and went and sat down at a table - about 15 mins later, guess who walks in? He made a beeline straight for us, took his coat off, hung it on the back of a chair and went ‘I’ll be back in a minute’ and sauntered off to the bar!

My friend asked who he was so I filled her in and we decided to let him stop and have a drink with us in the hopes he’d bugger off - no such luck, 3 hours later he was still with us and ended up coming for a curry with us! It was one of the most akward nights I’ve ever had, he wasn’t even walking alongside us but behind us like some sort of nightstalker!

To make matters worse he then spent the next day at work making out like he was my best mate, everyone though it was hilarious 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

@Kimberina your story kind of reminds me of something that happened to me, but mine is nowhere near as awkward as yours. I had a work colleague too who seemed harmless, randomly added me on FB and started messaging me which I thought was odd because I'd barely spoken to him irl. He wasn't my type - he was a big rugby player with a diamond earring (ugh I hate earrings on blokes, that's a definite ick) and he wore those skinny jeans and pointy shoes and polo neck tops 🤢

This work colleague asked me to go for drinks one-on-one, I said no. His next plan was to message me about going to Winter Wonderland in London, so he made out to me like other colleagues I was friends with were coming too. When it came to the actual evening, mysteriously all the other colleagues had "dropped out" of the plan so it just ended up me and this bloke walking around Winter Wonderland making convo for two hours!!

I remember being in charge of the map, so I cunningly made it so we ended up near to the exit of Winter Wonderland, so I could say "oh there's the exit, I think I'm going to head off now!" and he insisted on walking me back to the tube. It was never spoken of again and seeing him at work was cringy.

I can't remember if I've replied to this thread or not but here's mine:

- tit drivers. I've dumped a guy for being crap at driving, I was embarrassed to be in a car with him.
- men who are as dull as dishwater. Boring.
- men who can't have a proper adult conversation.
- general pervy men who leer at women.
- a man who suggests whetherspoons or any other tit eating establishment for a date. No thank you. It's cold outside and I'm not putting on make up and doing my hair to go out in the cold to bloody whetherspoons.
- a man who calls me hun. In the bin you go. Same for hunny, a man I dated once used to call me that all the time and I'd cringe inside.
- skinny jeans on men.

I got a lift home from a work colleague once.
He was speeding and started telling me a story of when his dad ran over a dog :(
I asked him to drop me off about 10 mins away from my house and I walked the rest of the way home.

- long finger nails
- feminine small hands
- crossing their legs when sat down
- smelly hygiene and bad teeth
- clumsy & dopey men - i cringe
- my most recent ick when was a guy I was dating shaved all of his hair and beard off... and he looked like a mole rat.. and i couldn't get the image of the grand high witch from The Witches out of my head. He had a big pointy nose with big nostrils and long fingers. That was it. Me done. I've never ran away so quickly - "i had to go feed my cat" - never to be seen again.

It didn’t really bother me at the time - I was smitten with this particular ex and he was super handsome - but looking back it gives me the ick. Anyway, he would get into difficulties all the time and get really stressed about it. Like he would always drop things or once when washing the dishes, he broke a glass nearly taking his finger off and about an hour before that he burned the kitchen worktop by sitting a hot pan on it! Another time, he knocked an entire tin of paint off a ladder covering himself from head to toe. He was like Mr Bean, just going from one calamity to the next.

Bad dates, i ended up on a date without actually accepting it when a mate (or so I thought) insisted on me coming over to collect some lecture notes. Apparently a fuse had blown, no lights on but the whole room was covered in candles. (It was boiling, he suggested i take off my coat and jumper, but i had no intention of staying i was just swinging by to get notes) He then had misplaced the notes (obviously) and looked for the file on his laptop (battery ofc had been fullt charged in advance) Then after failing to find them for almost an hour (on purpose i now realise) he said we'd get pizza, while we worked on new notes and, went out to collect it. Locking me in the room... i turned on the lights (way hey - powers back!) Blew out the tiny fires and complained loudly when he came back that he locked the room - apparently is was for security so, i have no idea what the front door was for then. He wouldn't let me leave without eating the pizza and insisted on eating on the bed... i sat on the floor because i didn't want to be on a bed with him. Then having made zero progress on the notes and eating cold pizza i announced i was leaving, a nee road block, apparently it wasn't safe to just leave, and he in insisted on getting a car for me. At this point i wasn't feeling worried, perhaps naively but i just wanted to get away from this weird pseudo date.

The car mercifully came fairly quickly, but the ick isn't behind me yet. I got to the front door, he followed holding my coat and bag hostage and then insisted on putting my coat on me (from behind - ick) then wrapped his arms around me, from behind before he started swaying from side to side while nuzzling my neck whilst gazing at our reflection in the full lenght mirror, lamenting about time going so fast. (speak for yourself buddy) complained i was being stiff and unfriendly - by not leaning into the hug, refusing to sway along etc. I could feel his breath on me and, at this point i definitely had the full blown ick. Now to be clear i had told him i had a boyfriend who i was crazy over, so i didn't realise he was still holding out hope until i received an expensive necklace for Christmas from him a little later.

My mum told me I should choose him as he would protect me and never leave my side unlike my lazy boyfriend. Apparently my repulsion to him could be overcome with positive thinking and a bit of work on my part. Thanks Mum!

He hung around me for YEARS. I have more ICK encounters with him, but that was the first. I couldn't avoid him completely because of my course and ofc he told everyone we meant to be, so i was bamboozled with people insisting i "just give him a chance" as apparently my feelings were unimportant.

Put me right off dating anyone new after my boyfriend and i were over. These stories are weirdly cathartic.

Ahhh, memories.
Think I'd have rang the police tbh.

Urgh! Different but this reminded me, once I was on a night out with someone I'd been seeing and friends when someone at the other side of the bar picked up his gf obviously as part of an in-joke or something. Anyway everyone in their group was laughing. Next minute, my guy out of nowhere decides for some reason to copy and launched me up into the air! Was mortifying. After he put me down, a friend was like, '...why did he do that?' awkward!

💯 I'm very put off by small, thin, fragile, or delicate men.

Crossing their legs when sitting down is an immediate irreconcilable ick. It's even worse when they place the palms of their hands on their top knee, whilst their legs are crossed. My sister's ex used to sit like that, I never understood what she saw in him. Please give me a man spreader any day, over that!

Also standing with one leg straight, and one leg slightly bent. Once had a guy I was crushing on stand like that, that was the end of my crush on him!

Wonderful.

Woke up this morning to a topless photo of a married man with two kids in his hotel room saying he "missed me". Grim. I've watched a few football matches with him and about a dozen others and I don't know where this crush developed from but it creeps me out. I just screenshot and ignore the messages until he apologizes for being drunk etc etc

I had a harmless crush on a guy at work until one day I had to get something from his desk drawer. It was so grim and messy, which was strange as he was so well turned out! Also one day I noticed his handwriting was absolutely terrible. Then I just sort of looked on him as a hapless child rather than a gorgeous co worker!
