Living in London is very expensive. I own a flat in Pimlico (inherited when I 20.). I contemplated moving there lots when I was younger, but quickly realised that in order to live the lifestyle I like, I’d have to work ridiculously hard. Even though she owns property there, eating in the right restaurants, wearing good quality, fashionable clothing and even taxis would cost so much. If Steph would have stayed in London, she would have had to get a job to fund her lifestyle.
By choosing to play a damsel in distress in her ramshackle castle, her friends have to come to her, send her gifts and help her out. It cuts out so many of the living expenses. We know that prior to YT she spent almost nothing on renovating the chateau. All of her money has been spent on her lavish lifestyle - one she couldn’t have had while living in London.

Example being, when unfaithful, I do not pick a sweet, intelligent, empathic woman to play with, no matter how tempting. I do pick a hot, intelligent, fun woman who has a minimum of empathy, and I don't worry about her mental health, as I know she will be standing when I leave. What is in it for me? Fun, excitement. Same at work, I surround myself with people I would not recomend you to have personal relationships with. Some of them I would not even invite home for dinner, as I would not expose my family to them. In my line of work, you do develop some sociopathic skills, or you don't succeed. I have, but I don't want it to change my personality. It is more like a coat I put on for work...and sometimes for play.

And in control. London is not a good place to live without adequate funding. One does remember a vlog where young travelling Trotter and SJ were here in London. They did a spot of shopping in inexpensive shops like Zara and H&M, then proceeded to eat dinner in her flat, as they had spent what they had available,- and so went to party at a private club. The cash flow can't have been that healthy prior to the vlog taking off. London would definitely not be easy for her then, with her expensive taste.

my wife would be in a huff with me if she got to know (that would be expensive) and it wouldn't be much fun if someone called me Heathcliffe over the table! Tattle is my guilty pleasure, but I'd be mortified if anyone found out
