On the back, at the top, the moulding is screwed on. I’m no antiques expert, but I recognize modern work when I see it. Similar intricate appliqués can be purchased from Wood U Bend, Etsy, or made with silicone molds. Anyway, Steph got bamboozled out of €700. I hope Ian walks in one day and says “I could have made that for you for €250”. Now back to our regular programming.
Hopefully you can come back soon. It's hard to tell with the pandemic and delta variant changing things by the minute, when the borders will open, but they are supposed to be opening soon to those that have have been fully vaccinated and have a negative covid test.

There are some seriously weird sexual obsessions in them that indicate he was into incest. The fact that Jarvis can't see the pornography indicates a dark repression - perhaps the result of sexual abuse?

The glass looks wrong too. What period was it supposed to be? Older mirrors had rolled blown glass not moulded, and so would be made in 2 pieces as there was a limit to the size that could be blown.I was thinking about the mirror before I fell asleep, why? I couldn’t tell you. Maybe because I thought she got taken for a ride as well. It looked too new. It looks freshly painted and the gilding is bright, not dull like an actual antique piece. The mirror “was replaced, probably”, I just kind of doubt it, the moulding would be glued and or nailed on judging by the back. And then the back that wasn’t solid. I’ve seen several videos showing how to recreate similar mirrors. Wouldn’t be very difficult with a mirror, frame, moulding , and limited carpentry skills. I bet Phyllis could whip one up in his sleep, if he wanted to.

Sadly, it’s one of those things if you don’t use it, you lose it. I knew enough to keep up with a basic conversation with neighbors we had years ago, but now I don’t have anyone to speak it with. Now my Spanish comes down to knowing how to ask where the bathroom is and pointing at things and saying their names in Spanish, so basically elementary level. I would love to speak Italian! My knowledge boils down to cursing, as that was one thing I picked up on from my Nanna’s broken English, she and my grandfather were from Sicily. My dad did his fair share of cursing in Italian.My husband learned Spanish in school in the Caribbean but barely remembers a thing sadly. I had a summer off and was using an app to learn Spanish and was able to understood their conversations my neighbours had at family events ( they treat my husband and I like extended family, we are very lucky ) , and to have basic conversations with them but now I have forgotten too because I was not able to make time to keep it up. Italian would be wonderful and useful to learn as well.

The furniture is from the entrance hall, before that horrible jungle wallpaper went on the wall there ( done by SJ herself, which explains the receding seams). She also reupholstered these Emmaus bought furniture, but as you can see, she miscalculated the fabric and did not have enough to do the back of these chairs, which she left in their dirty original beige (why clean if you don't feel like it?) as if no-one would notice...‘Bonne Maman’ is the polite French term for ‘Grandmother’, has been reinvented again. Where did this furniture come from??? It's all starting to look the same. A room for two but you can entertain a large crowd if needed. Can someone at Lalande fix the wonky lampshades??? You can hear the sheep bleeding???

The absolutely lovely @chateaudelalande. This very special bedroom sits in a square large tower and thus profits from views on two sides looking out over rolling fields. You can hear roosters crowing and sheep bleeding in the distance. A prettier picture of the charms of rural life cannot be found. @chateaudelalande

Having met her about five years ago and being rather impressed by her appearance, I can honestly say I've never seen anybody age as fast as she is aging right now. Something in her lifestyle is not giving her the satisfaction she needs to stay happy. Might be the stress of her fraud being exposed any minute, her incomprehensible connection to this young twat or it's just the booze taking its toll...time will tell, I guess.What has happened to stephanie‘s face recently in the last vlog it looked like her cheeks were going to burst nothing moved except her mouth. Water helps. All they've had this year Dan says is rain.Yes. The weather where she is will give better return than at LaLande. Also, she has a much smaller plot to tend. She also has been there long enough to establish what grows best, when and where in the garden. Dan has been planting many gifted seeds, and will learn from experience how to get better crops each year.
