That poor kid had to do ALL the grunt work for Matt. I am surprised he did not get a hernia pulling up the floor in the idiotic china pantry (tile floors to break the china on and 9 miles from the dining room). Couldn't someone (Matt?) have helped him? Wasn't he hung upside down in that well too??
He's looks as strong as an ox, it's good for him. I could have done what he did in my 20's/30's. To be fair I would give it go now.
There was no lifting for hernia, a lever and a crowbar takes the strain.
He's probably got another job that pays more than Matt or he could be specialising in something.
Honestly when it comes to getting stuck in being hung upside down is an easy play.
Matt looks like a fun father-in-law.
Getting back to Selmars idyll in the woods .. methinks after turning up unexpectedly in a unprecedented pandemic he has outstayed his welcome. Its been over a year now.
Is it a BG situation and he has latched onto SSB's commune concept. For a man with van it looks a good place to settle. The #vanlife is great (for some) but unless you have a settling point then you have to keep on trucking.
Wonder what's happening with the other work with the Dutch lady in the Dordogne as someone mentioned earlier.
Also, would have thought that he would be involved with the panelling somehow.
From the other posts I understand that it is not allowed to have someone staying at your property and live in their motorhome. Yes, this is a daft question but .. is it ok for a friend that lives with you to park their motorhome at your property for a long period of time? Basically would Selmars van be ok if he was sleeping in the chateau?
