Big hugs from me to you. My parents are the same. Try not to stress over cleaning. It is your home, not their home. It has to come up to your standards, not theirs. Ignore that little voice in your head that drives you to want to please them over this. Be kind to yourself. By the sound of it you have good reason to concentrate on things other than housework.
Try to relax. If they say anything about the 'state of the place' just smile and say how nice it is to see them and spend time with them and suggest you go out for a walk or a meal if they are uncomfortable in your house. Lots of positive thoughts winging your way. xx

It seems strange to me that if Dan's going to be on the UK TV programme, which seems likely, as TV camera crew have been glimpsed at his ruin, how come he isn't saying so on his vlogs? Maybe his participation hasn't been given the green light yet.

Pheeph's forest web cam picked up on the pine martens scampering through Forêt Fanny years ago. They can squeeze through a 45mm aperture and leap six feet. Sad Sack Amy at Rosieres had a marten massacre of their fairly semi-well-protected poultry which she documented for our viewing pleasure some time ago. Jarvis offers NO protection to chickens or peafowl and lets them wander freely near the pine martens' neighborhood. She should be reported to the French animal welfare authorities for that, and for not providing the pea fowl with protected winter housing. Starving Ruby and not shearing or sheltering the sheep properly is also cruelty to animals.

Firstly it's you that they have come to see not some setting for a magazine shoot.

We are all critical when we think we are looking at our place through other people's eyes. (I blame programmes like 4 in a bed, not that it worried SJ and IJ when they participated).

I have two friends whose homes couldn't be more polar different. One is immaculate inside and out, and it doesn't feel like a home, more of a show house.and I return home and try to attack mine. The other I have heard others describe as a home you wipe your feet as you leave. But which home do we feel more comfortable and welcome in because they are great hosts.

I was just on a gardening course and noticed things like the weeds and dead branches around the garden. I anticipated it would be more presentable as its her showroom and she charges people to visit. You are not charging.

Personally, I'm a cozy mess maker, but I know where everything is. And all who visit me just have to accept there are bits and bobs at random places, that I didn't finish cleaning before they arrived - that includes my neat-freak aunt.

I was one of Fanny's patrons when she first announced that she was holding back the reveals of some projects because of her promise to the tv company. There was quite a bit of disappointment expressed in the patron comments at the time, and I think she lost some supporters as a result. Most of them were positive though and it did not dent her income very much. However, I wonder if DTM knew what happened to Fanny and has not announced it yet because he knows he is already in trouble with his supporters (so many negative comments after his vlogs) and he does not want to do anything that might make them even more unhappy.

You could be right though, and maybe he is not sure that the tv show will include his footage. Maybe they have seen all the negative comments and don't want to be associated with him. Who knows. It's all supposition on my part, of course, and I promised myself a while ago that I would not get involved with comments about him any more. But I keep getting drawn back in because he angers me so much, even more than Fanny at the moment. He needs to be stopped imo.

In the grabeau which had lots and lots of comments asking about the donations list not being updated as well as Snorts wanting a dog.
Fanny was delighted with this stirrup bracelet and immediately says oh it is Hermes style….
What is evident is just how dreadful she has always been at hanging wallpaper. Every single drop is badly aligned and does not meet.

How old is Ashtray? 45-50? Still dressing like a teenager and talking about all the “bits” they need to “crack on” and get done at the derelict cha-faux.

I am nothing like Snorts but I do like Cornish pottery. This vlog I found fascinating.

I honestly HOPE that Fanny will change this title slide -- "Marie feels sorry for herself and looks out a window." Absolutely disgusting considering that it was only some months ago that Marie was, in her own words, so low that she felt thoughts of self-harm and to heal and return home. She has suffered severe bouts of depression. One suffering from suicidal thoughts and depression doesn't feel sorry for themself; it's much more than that. We all get the blues and sometimes we feel sad but depression, especially long bouts where one feels hopeless is very different. Living in a remote rural area in a foreign country away from family, friends and support networks is already very challenging. Why Marie feels the need to live there is beyond me. She is perhaps not making the best choices. As usually, Fanny thinks she funny and loves to poke fun at others and have a lighthearted take on things...and perhaps Marie is playing along, but this doesn't make it right. It sends the wrong message to those suffering from depression. And, the fact that Fanny couldn't get out of bed for years due to depression following the death of her dad, she should know better.

The word "daily" just means it occurs each day. At no time has Stephanie claimed that it's all in real time. That's just your (inaccurate) interpretation. She's always been very honest that she frequently saves up film. Your belief that daily vlogs should only contain footage that occurred that day is your problem, because that's not what it means and no one is claiming that's what's being shown. Why does it even matter? All these things happened within the last few days, but it's only enjoyable to you if it all happened on Tuesday?

It's a petticoat skirt. Mine is pale purple with lace at the bottom. Bought in 1984, and last worn in 1989 because it became too small. Now all these years later it fits again. I have bought 2 dresses to wear this summer so it will finally come out and be worn again.

Ditto.

One of my friends house is an absolute mess and pretty dirty but I really don’t take any notice. They have cats, sheep and horses and spend spare time listening to local children read and many other kind acts, and realise dust does not matter.
They are warm friendly and great hosts.
My friend’s husband said they were trying to spruce the place up ready for me to stay, and he said he focused on cleaning the Light Switches!!! It always makes me laugh when I think about it.
