I think when Dan and Annelise followed their dreams and moved to France, they were quite courageous. They wanted to own their own home and there was no way they could manage that in the UK. They had probably both worked quite hard in their jobs in England; they had been together since school and had hoped for a better life. I think they both had limited education and certainly Dan had zero common sense. They took on an enormous project buying the dilapidated house, but Dan tried to learn a bit about construction and was prepared to work hard. However, his lack of common sense and sufficient relevant education, meant that he took many dangerous short cuts. I doubt if they planned to start a family till much later, and they lived in pretty awful conditions with two babies. He found a part-time job in a place with an employer whose "influence" has an extremely negative effect on weak and easily influenced people. He observed that a pea-brained person could easily trick people into giving her thousands just by making a few videos. He learnt how to make videos, which he did successfully, and then the rot set in. He became arrogant with the success and the relatively easy acquisition of money went to his head. The loose morals in the dump also provided the opportunity to stray from his long-term partner and he and Annelise split. It's very sad after a promising start. The guilt lies with Dan himself thinking he can do anything without knowing and understanding how to do it properly and by becoming arrogant and thoughtless in his craving for financial gain. He has become so similar to Fanny who, in her own way, does exactly the same and in doing it, she causes harm to everyone under her spell. In Dan's case, he will harm himself, and his sons and ex-partner. It is both stupid and extremely sad.

I went to check out the Patreon page:
All creators on Patreon appear to have seen a jump in numbers of patrons in the last few days (not just those connected with the chateauverse). The results and graphs shown on the Graphtreon page makes it look as though Fanny and everyone else suddenly became very popular (even Selmar jumped from 7 patrons to 23 on one day!)

But don't panic everyone. Nobody has been buying $1 dollar subscriptions to inflate their results, and interest in CD is continuing to slowly wane. It is a glitch caused by Patreon's new method of reporting 'free membership' patrons. These are people that have, in some cases, merely expressed an interest in a creator. It is being sorted: this is a message put out by Graphtreon:

I'll let you all know when it has been sorted out, but for now please don't rely on any numbers you see. Fanny is still going down.

I'm just waiting for the high winds during the winter months and hope no human or animal is in the vicinity when the building tumbles....

Dan also forgets, like all the other Dump crew members, that none of them have been gifted millions of dollars in properties and assets like the little orphan princess, none have a wealthy stepfather, and none have fawning, accommodating family and acquaintances that will labor for free for them, enable them, and frequently rescue them from their financial follies and decades of poor decisions. If Fanny had not convinced bag head to foolishly invest in 50% of the dump, she would have no content to film and exploit for her current ill-gotten gains. Everything she has was gifted to her or grifted by her on the basis of what was originally gifted to her by her idiotic, foolish, indulgent parents.

It is sad, I often wonder did he leave or did she tell him to.

We moved to France with a house that needed a major renovation and no jobs. It's a leap of faith and by no means an easy ride. You need to have a strong relationship behind you and also maturity. Admittedly, we've no children, plus we'd sold a property in the UK but if it had all gone tits up on the work front we would have had to live off that at the expense of the renovation.

For Dan and Annalise, factor in two children born very close together, no full time work and probably limited savings and a touch of naivety it would have been horrible for them. Sadly the day he drove through the gates at Lalande was the beginning of the end for their relationship. He'd said in his vlog with Fanny that he gets bored easily, Annalise and cosy family life became just that to him.

I sincerely hope he's providing for them and will continue to do so, if he's not then he's beyond despicable.

Dan is facing serious structural issues with the crumbling walls, Will he tear them down and rebuild them properly ( as one would if they were seriously restoring a building to safely live in or sell) or just patch them up, and continue playing contractor on the site for YouTube views? Let’s see if Dan is going to invest the time and money to start tearing down and replacing walls at the crispy chateau and goes back and corrects his flooring mistakes and other structural errors, etc.

Dan’s video posted Friday now has almost 250,000 views and 1,248 comments. Some updated, recent comments:

Dude, you can’t resurrect a corpse… I worked builds for years. Rebuild those walls from scratch. Listen to the people in your feed. Some idiot is gonna die mimicking you. 🫣

What this man does is dangerous and putting unnecessary risk to others…sending a very scary and wrongful message….of this kind of DIY is possible… so sad why no authorities are in France for safety checks…I started to watch those videos with excitement in the beginning… but stopped as it’s getting really troubling to see the risks

Filling the floorholes will not make the difference if the wall is instable, you just want to do it because it is way less work, which is sad

He says "looks worse than it is", I think "is worse than it looks" - one corner repaired and the next serious issue comes along the way...

No structural engineer worth a damn will give you plans for a roof on that foundation. Not the comment you want but it’s true.

He will bank a huge profit, pay off other investors and walk away to the next project stating, “well, we made a good try at saving it!” People will be sad but, excited to see what’s next. Now, the problem is, people are calling him out. He’s going to have to get some kind of expert on site to say a few things, he’s going pretend to have an attitude adjustment and appear to take comments to heart. He’ll seem to be in compliance and follow proper guidelines for a moment to get everyone off his back. He’s learned a little from Fanny about what “not to do”. He’ll travel quietly and spend money without showing off on things that have nothing to do with renovations. I used to really like him. He appeared to be down to earth, a family man and hard worker. Then the interactions with Annalise, the breakup, and the new teeth made me wonder who he really was. The moment I heard him conversing with the gentleman (in French) that I believe he rents equipment from, I thought Dan’s not really the simple guy he wants us to think he is. Time will tell. Does anyone know if Fanny invested in all this? That would be interesting to know.

Success went to his head very quickly. I th8nk Annalise is better off without Dan as a partner. I believe he treated her poorly in the past few years. She is losing weight ( like Kirsty) and seems happier now. I wish the best for her and Kids no. 1 and 2.

I found an interesting piece of news this weekend squashed in between adverts regarding tax on holiday homes including side business and those overseas.
I’ve cut out the ads which is why there are so many attachments
I wonder how many including Fanny will now change her tax country to France
HMRC stands for His/Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs. Can you imagine the chaos if King Charles decided to change he/him/his to something entirely different.

This stupid stupid man needs a serious wake up call, sooner rather than later. Unfortunately, the two recent 'little' scares have had little or no effect as they were not obviously scary enough for his elevated ego.

I hope that any patrons with half a brain cancel their subscriptions.

Sods law says he won't get hurt BUT SOMEONE ELSE WILL!

Sure as shit he's not living there, he's uploading from an Air B&B. That Yurt is no more than a glorified site office, occassional shag pad.

I don’t remember where we heard it from, but there was talk of Dan being furious she got pregnant. He didn’t want kids. I think we got that straight from him. She got pregnant twice obviously, and under really bad circumstances too. If she did that without his approval I could understand some of his behavior.

He should have taken precautions then. It takes two. He better hope Kat doesn't get up the duff then. If he's too proud to put something on it, then have the snip and be done with it.

Can you tell he's not my most favourite person.

The yurt will be an occasional crash pad and editing room. Pretending he lives in a yurt is another storyline he was setting up to get people to feel sorry for him, think he is passionate/dedicated about the project , make him look adventurous and thrifty, etc. It is another calculated prop used to spin a narrative.Do you think his sons stay in the yurt when he has them for the weekend? No. Will he really live on the yurt this winter? Is Kat spending romantic weekends in the yurt with Dan? Has he shown us the inside of the furnished yurt? If there a wood burner or some form of heat, dog beds, etc,? He may have a cot to nap in and a table set up for editing videos.

It must all reek of mildew & mould in there all those curtains covering windows and doors, to presumably stop draughts,is not good for either. Propeties, old & new need good airflow

Sidenote : Why is the male guest in Pic 2 wearing a hat indoors? My Mum would have considered that 'common'. Looks so odd

Sounds like Patreon might be trying to stem a tide of cancellations. Could fine folks like Fanny and her protege Dipshit Dan be causing Patreon some issues? It really is a shame. I know some wonderful artists who earn the bulk of their living through Patreon. Fanny et al are taking income away from legit creators all the while tarring them with the same brush.

Does anyone believe Fanny was up at 5.45

me neither.

It also has the delightful knock on effect of diluting the per patron totals, skewing Fanny’s favorite part of Patreon.
