Sadly fanny could never achieve this even with a professional interior designer. She has no class and her ideas are incoherent.

Totally agree her design sense is incoherent. A good (professionally trained) interior designer might be able to help her with that though. Watching her vlogs I do appreciate the style she is going for (e.g., the dining room, with its startling red chinoiserie, is I think a bit inspired by Diana Vreeland who loved red lacquer and busy interiors), but she constantly doesn't quite pull it off (e.g., Oliver's impressionistic painting is completely jarring in that room, but would look lovely against a softer palette, not to mention the wierd asymmetric panels she created in that room because she again f'd up with the wallpaper and didn't have enough). There's no design consistency or flow with the other surrounding rooms either. If she wants to focus on decoration (and I think she is quite straight up in the vlogs that is the only thing she is really interested in/passionate about), she should atleast get outside help so that she is spending her incredible decorating budget well.

None of my friends watch the vlogs, and my husband abhors it (largely because of the e-begging and encouragement of people, some of whom are possibly vulnerable/ mentally unstable and trying to create a false sense of relationship, to send her gifts she does not need).

Yeah, Ottolenghi's ingredient lists are famously four pages long. He pretty much stays in the food porn department for me too.
Paneer is fresh homemade Indian cheese. You put cubes of it in veg curry. It's not hard to make. But it's one of those many things I only made when I was young and ambitious and bullet proof. Like ballotine of turkey. I was out of my mind.
Pomegranate molasses, on the other hand, opened a whole new world of yum to me. My main aim now is what I call Cuisine Dolce Far Niente™. The apotheosis dish of which is fresh cherries in a bowl of ice cubes.
This month it's how long can I go without turning the stove on.
Claudia Roden's muhammarra, with pomegranate molasses, is high on the CDFN list. God it's good. We just had some for breakfast with homemade labneh, even easier and more CDFN than paneer. (Dump whole milk yoghurt into a cloth lined sieve over a bowl. Gather the cloth over it to cover. Refrigerate to drain 48 hours. Unwrap. Mix with herbs, fruit, salt, pepper, or not. Devour.) Paaaaarfect.

Muhammara
12 oz. jarred piquillo peppers
3 1/2 oz./100 g walnuts
1 slice whole wheat bread
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 1/2 T pomegranate molasses
Juice 1/2 lemon
3-4 T olive oil
1 1/2 t ground cumin
1/4 to 1/2 t Aleppo pepper
salt
Combine in processor and whiz.
Spread on a plate to serve.

I absolutely agree…but keep in mind…SJ was a CHRISTIE’S TASTEMAKER!!! So, in her mind, she’s already the “professional” interior designer. She’d never accept the services of an outside interior designer although she desperately needs it. Instead, she relies on the design opinions of her uneducated 25 year old paid lover who’s adult life experience has been spent primarily as the “kept man” of a faux princess.

To be honest, the location of the farmhouse is so remote, it would probably cost a fortune to get a decent interior designer out there. I guess a lot of the consultation could be done virtually, though.

I've been thinking of the Patron Circus coming up at the shitoo and have some ideas I'd like to share here for your consideration. Ruthy Writer will premier her new novel with signed copies for sale, The Little Shop of Leftovers will have a grand opening, Adrift at Sea Marie will have a booth promoting herself in a variety of situations, Ollie and Cami will also have a booth promoting their Mess in Progress, F1 Potts will have booth selling his endless photos of race cars and night scenes of Amsterdam, Horrible Hanni will sachet about pouring cheap watered down bubbly (the good stuff will be for the Princess and her entourage), Court Jester Gerry will have a stage in the middle of the dried up lake to entertain the masses alongside a small booth selling tartan souvenirs, Ma Belle and Pa Percy will be seated most comfortably in the shade to receive guests and sign autographs after sitting through a sales pitch to increase their donations on Patreon. The High Priestess herself will make a brief showing on the balcony and disappear for the remainder of the fete. Many of the Patrons will discreetly and not so discreetly slip little momentos into their gift totes. I certainly hope they rent plenty of port-a-potties as there aren't adequate plumbing accomodations within the walls of the farmhouse. I imagine that the now famous Downstairs Loo will be roped off and visitors will only be allowed to view the stunning results. Minions will be posted throughout the farmhouse to limit accessibility and keep a beady out for pilferaging. Phyllis will ever so busy playing Lord of the Manor and ensuring all the top tier patrons that Her Majesty is well but indisposed at the moment. Meanwhile Fanny will be entertaining a very close circle of 'friends' far, far away from the Madding Crowd.

I've always thought, and have said as much on here, that most (if not all) of his food intolerances and/or allergies are an affectation, part of the persona he created prior to arriving at the decrepit dump. I'm pretty sure that some of his food foibles are actually fear of the unknown - artichokes, asparagus, scallops spring to mind - they all made him look terrified. He's a just young chap from the 'burbs, he's not the sophisticated, man about town he thinks he thinks he is.

Having said that, given the choice between Dana's "cooking" and ship's biscuits, I'd go with ship's biscuits any day...and to hell with scurvy.

Yes, I think the plastic Dutch mayo bottles on the table and in the pantry betray a whole lot about boyfriend's tastes. Isn't there a Spode chamberpot designed to dress up Dutch mayo for the granny tat table? Or maybe a totes bougie silver plate armature thing, like those oil and vinegar cruet holders?

I think it’s similar to people who give huge sums of money to the TV preachers that live in luxurious homes and drive expensive cars. Even with all of the technology that’s supposed to bring us together, people are feeling more lonely and isolated than ever. All the chaos and uncertainty in the world makes people turn to things that make them feel good, safe, and cared about. That’s really what Fanny peddles…faux friendship and inclusion. Yes, it’s sad because she’s taking advantage of people’s feelings, especially those who are vulnerable.

Something I would thoroughly recommend to my fellow Tattlers is, once in a while, take a little break away from the forum. I don't want to face the wrath of you all, so allow me to explain my reasons. For some time I was suffering from Fanny-burnout and it was wearing me down. She was getting more and more ludicrous between purchases and behaviour, yet with no apparent consequences. Secondly, I love this forum, but, from time to time it becomes the Cooking Channel and my energy levels just drop. Sorry

I could, but will not, say the same is true for me of some threads here, some sickening lines of humor, and the worst single case of internet malice I've seen in 30 years. If my fellow human beings are interested in talking about it, I will pay the membership fee. You should try it.

Also I always wonder how people like this will actually cope IF she does suddenly just do a runner never to be seen or heard of again. It could be enough to tip some over the edge if the are unstable. I don't think she realises, or even cares for that matter, the potential damage she could do to them.

I just want to see Maman get there and go batshit crazy at them all. It would make my day.

I’ve always thought her long term goal was to sell the farmhouse and move somewhere like Venice, but not until Mummy passes away. I think she’s putting away as much money as possible to fulfill that dream, which is why we don’t see a lot of progress on the many projects. If she feels too much heat on the Patreon and Association, she’d probably shut down and walk away with a final video blaming the “haters.” But the narcissist in SJ needs the camera and attention (and she likes the money), so I think things with Patreon and the Association would have to be REALLY bad for her to stop filming. Or, she could pull a “Michael Petherick” move and slowly cut back on videos until there’s months between posts. And Michael still has patrons, so I’m sure a core group of SJ’s fans would continue to donate even if they only get one video every month or two.
