It’s classic narcissist behavior. The narcissist believes he/she is “the best” at whatever they do, and they want to surround themselves with people who they believe are also “the best” or special in some way. Dan was well liked and was even praised here on Tattle. That probably made him a prize in SJ’s eyes. The narcissist love bombs their target with compliments and makes them feel as though they are important…needed. They suck the energy…the very life…out of that person until the shine and the halo wears off. Then, the narc finds someone new. The old target is sidelined…brushed aside for the new source of narc supply. You see it time and again. With SJ it was Marie, Michael Petherick, Selmar, and now Dan (amongst many others).
