It's just not clear to me that they can't add 2 + 2 or they don't want to.
Maybe each of them thinks ok $ 5 is not a big amount, but what they don't understand is that there are 3500 of them and that SJ collects big money every month.

I think the Tartlet who suggested she's cooking the books of 2020 and 2021 is right. She doesn't have the money to do either the façade nor the heating, because she needs to repay her debt in order to legitimise her enterprises. I know I know I know, I'm contradicting Clara who claims that Stephanie believes she's done nothing wrong; so I ask, why the delay in publishing the accounts in full? She's hiding something, that's why, because Stephanie knows she has done something wrong and I firmly believe it's her previous financial misdemeanours with other people's money - her Patreon account. I genuinely hope she is correcting the mistakes, because she morally has a responsibility to do so, besides she'd have to do it if her case went to court.
The cooking the books theory also is supported by the work halting on all the gîtes, the upstairs shower room, the natural swimming pool, the lake, the chapel, the china pantry, the pornographic splash back tiles (which I could do in one evening - hey photoshop wizard), the area cuisine, the terrace restoration, the list continues.... I don't buy the excuse that there aren't the tradesmen in the area.

But we Lalanders are a hardy bunch - and we have the added joy of knowing that this winter should be our last cold one! Also, as the new rooms are completed (Marquis’s salon and grand salon), the final heating pipes and radiators are being installed.
