I'm still watching the final series on U&Drama where loads of people leave in quick succession and there's dramatic music and all the rest of it. I didn't like the changes they made. It lost a lot of what made it a great watch, imo.

So it's really comforting going back to the older one and seeing all the old faithfuls. I loved so many of the characters from the older series - Reg, Tony, Phil and so many more. Gina Gold (Roberta Taylor, RIP) was iconic imo.

Watching one last night where Jo chews the ears of Max, while standing up for her new team. She reminds Max that she now has her stripes and that she doesn't work for him anymore. Excellent!

😁 I love when Jo hugs him at the end and calls him 'hun' again.

And I know Stuart was in some ways a show off and all the rest of it, but, again, a great character well played. He had a vulnerable side which made him likeable, to me. I loved when he did the tv programme and all the others teased him mercilessly. 😁
Oh yeah. That’s a great scene when they’re all watching him on tv

The only storyline I couldn’t stand was the Todd Carty one where he played June‘s son. It was dragged out for far too long and was pretty ridiculous

Latest one I watched was Cameron leaving. Aww, I really liked his character. And jeez, I think I had forgotten just how evil Gabriel was. Well played character in fairness.

I'm finding with the older series being shown on U&Drama that I am sometimes wondering at the end well what happened next. Granted I'm jumping back and forth and skipping some episodes entirely. So that doesn't help. 😁

I’m child free this morning which is very rare for a weekend so I’ve put The Bill on while I do some cleaning. Jo Masters is brilliant, I think she’s really underrated.
I always loved any storylines Jo featured in. I was thinking recently of the storyline where Stuart saved her life. 'Hun' 😁

Watched one from the final series last night. 'That Type of Cop.'
Jo was always a favourite of mine anyway but she was brilliant altogether when she became sergeant.

Who was the officer who was dating a woman and then slept with her teenaged daughter? That was really creepy.

I also remember an episode where two of the police officers interviewed a married couple because they were potential witnesses for a crime, and it turned out that they were actually brother and sister (incest). Their dad or mum was sexually abusive towards them when they were kids, it was very dark.

I'm wallowing a bit in the series on U&W even though I watched it recently enough but it has a lot of my favourites in it.
I can't settle into the one on U&Drama. I watch single episodes but just give up on others.

Aww, I liked her. She was very much 'by the book' and she wasn't over enthused about being with Phil either 😁
I was trying to remember the ending of the necklace story, as I was watching - it was good! I always loved Reg too. It's very enjoyable watching those older ones where a lot of the ones I really liked are featured.

There are some good storylines in the final series but I didn't like the changes they made, overall.

Some great storylines. Yes, the darkness and the music just made a mess of it. I also wish they didn't sideline Callum so much in it.

Yes, to me, every other character had more than one side to them. And I know they want to portray Max as basically being a bit of an arse in general (like Mickey referring to him sarcastically as Sergeant Sensitive behind his back), but that's all that's to him, imo.
