They are selling bracelets?? Seriously!? Were T-shirts and two go fund me accounts not enough? I’m sorry but that’s beyond the pale. They are profiting off that poor child.

I read they won the court case yesterday and it has to go back to the high court, surely it's just going to be the same answer?

What group is this?

I was just reading about local delight Jake Pittaway which I believe is a relative…

I've seen posts where people have talked about him going back to school, having a huge party to celebrate him waking, one person wrote "I bet the first thing he'll say is how long have I been asleep and we'll say too bloody long!" A lot of people are ignoring and misunderstanding the brain death diagnosis and reckon he's just unconscious.

Tbf the wording induced coma makes it sound like the doctors have put him under to let his brain heal in some way.

I'm from a working class family but my family in particular my dad has always highly valued education. He sees it as a way out of poverty and deprivation.

Someone was arguing in capital letters last night on FB about "just give him a chance to heal, any parent would do the same". I told her to read an anatomy and physiology textbook, I've nursed people with TBI for around 5 years on and off even a minor one can cause a massive decline in quality of life. A few on our ward had tracheostomies and were mostly completely bed bound we had to turn them every few hours to prevent bed sores and give feeds. It's not a quality of life and they aren't even brain stem dead.

I am a parent and God forbid if this happened to my daughter. Although it would be painful I would switch the machine off because my darling daughter would already be gone. It's science

There’s a page called Archie’s Army but they made it private because they hated anyone not going with the narrative that he was going to open his eyes and go back to the boy he was before. The admins are largely low IQ chavs who love to stir shit.

Join at your own risk but you’ll have to look at totally bizarre comments from strangers about a little boy they don’t know

I consider myself very intelligent but right up until I found this thread I had no idea he was already ‘dead’ I read coma and thought he just needed time

It's because the hospital aren't really allowed to speak outside of court hearings because of patient confidentiality. You are only hearing the "Armies" narrative and not the whole picture. The hospital can't defend themselves.

1. she was in the house found him hanging and she snapped the robe and he fell

I’ve just read the previous judgement https://www.judiciary.uk/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/Archie-Batteresbee-judgment-2-1.pdf it’s an eye opener for sure.
Such an eye opener.

This line in particular tells you everything you need to know " I noted from the nursing notes found in the medical records that Archie’s mother preferred to search for answers on the internet or from people who had contacted her rather than accepting what the specialist doctors treating Archie and who have care of him on a daily basis were saying. "

i will have a read, it’s a shame this information can not be put out to the masses it may turn the tide off support
The information is out there but Hollie and the other admins aren’t putting it out there. All they are taking from yesterday is that a court agreed Archie is alive. On that group the judge “clearly can’t have children”, the nurses are neglecting him, mothers love and intuition overrides science and Archie will wake up and be walking and talking again soon.

When Archie was first resuscitated- meaning they managed to get a heart rhythm compatible with life he would be classed as ‘alive’ and then would have been put into the coma at this point. His brain had already been traumatically damaged at this point to be able to do anything without the support of drugs and mechanical ventilation. The CPR was enough to get the heart back into a rhythm but not started quickly enough to get blood and therefore oxygen to the brain and his other vital organs. Without the oxygen the cells in the brain start to die within minutes. A person can then not control their own breathing, blood pressure, temperature, respiratory rate etc etc with such an extensive injury and one that can’t be recovered from as the brain is just ‘too dead’.
The ventilator is breathing for him and supplying his organs with the oxygen needed to work, apart from the brain as the article above states their is no blood flow to the brain. He is likely on very high doses of vasopressors and inotropes which work together to increase blood pressure and how much the heart pumps- stopping these would result in death fairly quickly.
His temperature is most likely being artificially controlled, his digestive system will be failing so will be on pump feeds of TPN maybe. After such a long time in ITU he is likely to be in renal failure now so would be on dialysis if so.

It is incredibly sad for all involved but there is no miracle for this young boy

The expert American doctor who Hollie used doesn't believe in brain death anyway. He's a quack , The USA can be barbaric about carrying on with life support there was a 4 year old boy TK who became brain stem dead after suffering from meningitis. He was on life support for 20 YEARS!!
His post mortem revealed his brain had effectively become mummified with calcified deposits. There was no blood flow just because medical science allows us to keep people alive it doesn't mean we should.

The judge was quite dismissive of the American doctor's report. In the nicest, most eloquent possible way of course. I don't believe he ever even saw Archie in person.
