The Archers #2

Oh well that’s Pip told isn’t it🤫
Josh was spot on but it came from the wrong place and I found it uncomfortable, Josh should be talking to his parents who have both asked him more than once if he’s OK to which he has responded he’s ‘fine’ which he obviously isn’t. Pip’s easy to dislike, she’s always been enamoured by her grandmother Jill [a shining example of how to make others feel bad about themselves] so probably Pip imagines it’s OK to be sanctimonious as she’s witnessed a lifetime of Jill getting away with this .. but .. on this occasion she’s not done anything wrong, Stella proposed before Pip knew she would be inheriting the farm.
Zac’s been introduced for a reason but all over social media after but two appearances he’s been branded a wrong ‘un and a spiv and all because he says ‘fings’ not ‘things’ [Irish people say ‘tings’ not ‘things’ but apparently that’s endearing, hey ho]. Zac is a cypher character, there to move the plot along. And I’m not saying he may well turn out to be the biggest conman to ever come to Ambridge but why would the writers make it so obvious? Tiger Matt and Phillip Moss both started out as seemingly good people and we all know where that ended up.

I've listened to the podcast since it began, but the last two I've found dull and nodded off!!

Rex and Alice have zero chemistry. So dry. Hope he’s good in bed and Alice mentions it to pip who sees a little jealous.

The thought of any of the Archers men bonking 🤢. In fact all the Archers characters are unsexy and sexless. Maybe Linda is a saucy minx but nope just no.

Sounds like Finlay's on his way to Ambridge though ;)

Played by the lovely Mark Bonnar too. Quite a big name for TA.
Yes indeed …. way too big a name for TA.
TA has had some proper celebrity guests in the past but they disappear real quick.
I would love to hear Roger Allum make guest appearances, he’s my favourite radio actor, he’d fit in real nice chewing the large with Brian and Justin in The Bull.

Absolutely he would! Have you listened to 'Conversations from a long marriage' with Joanna Lumley?

I'm slightly puzzled with the Tracey working in the dairy timeline.
She seemed to start there maybe a week ago, but yesterday Helen was thanking her for her help over the last few weeks

Also, Tracey telling Helen she's glowing - a baby on the way??

Also, again, and I may be over thinking but there seems to be a few mentions of the test to determine Amber's due date. Could this be leading to the baby having been conceived during her trip to Ireland??!!

Yes .. there are mentions everywhere about the dairy timeline, it was certainly implied that Tracey started her stint there last week. I guess to move the plot along we are now entering into a different time zone re events, times and places…. play The Twilight Zone music.🎵

Otherwise in the UK the gestation of the baby is taken from the date of the last period not the date of conception. Usually the last period is around two weeks before conception. Amber said they tried for a baby when she came back from Ireland which was on Christmas eve. So the dates match perfectly.
The baby is George's.

And finally .. I’ve seen the ‘Amber got pregnant in Ireland’ comment before .. in such instance who is supposed to the Daddy 🤔

I find George so icky - the switch up to very clingy/dependent

They don't seem very compatible when they're under stress, so I reckon they'll break up

Also stop the kissing sounds pleaseeee

Ugh, so much dislike of radio kissing sounds here. Makes me turn the volume right down. (Incidentally, I’m with someone rn who has done audio drama and they’ve demonstrated the technique: slurp the back/side of the hand, that bit above the thumb. Ugh ugh ugh. Wish I hadn’t asked 🤢)

This budgie story line is the most interesting thing to happen in Ambridge for weeks

I am so bored of this George and its impacts storyline at the moment

I've thankfully not been in the same position as Pip or Ruth, but I thought Ruth's reaction was a bit wierd - I can't explain it tbh. Not wrong but a bit cold? And then asking her if she wanted to hear all about her own experience when Pip hasn't had a cancer diagnosis. Compared to David's highly emotional reaction which I found very moving. I suppose you don't want two people crying over you but even so.
And the actor Pip is doing it so well, conveying fear and distraction but trying to carry on as normally as possible.

I cannot for a single second bring myself to care about a budgie.

Quite worried that Brian is about to pop his clogs…

The budgie monologue have been irritating.

Adam's terrified that Brian handing him the farm will be cancelled due to not fit of mind.

Ive started listening to the Archers wartime prequel. Its rather good, once you get over the terrible posh acting and "awfully spiffing" of some of the regular actors!
