How and why have I not seen pages and pages of comments about those absolutely hideous grandad sandals?! Does she think she’s stylish in them? She looks like she’s about to embark on an over 70’s walking holiday! Absolutely horrific in every way, those monstrosities need burning, and quickly.
AW man teva’s are awesome! So comfy - but yes they are granny sandals and are made for walking hols etc :ROFLMAO: But I gotta say after wearing uncomfortable fashionable shoes all out my twenties I needs that comfort in my thirties:LOL:

I'm just shocked at the sheer amount of clothes she's bought during lockdown. Like, never mind the 'capsule' wardrobe element, where tf is she going out at the moment that she needs so many new clothes? She's bought more in the past few weeks than I have in the last year. I did really like Anna but this kind of spending makes her really unrelatable at the best of times, let alone when many of us have been furloughed/made redundant and are worried about money. It's hard to watch at times and it's telling that she hasn't reined in her spending, it's like she hasn't noticed what's going on!

I hit that comfort need two summers ago. I have a notoriously hard time finding comfortable footwear in the summer - sandals, wedges, whatever always rub me to death and no amount of 'breaking in' helps (interestingly enough my Doc Martens boots didn't need breaking in at all????) so I got two pairs of birks, a pair of espadrille wedges and then a pair of flats that were actually comfortable enough for 'nicer' occasions too. Saved my summer - idgaf about wearing my birks in the summer to the shops, on holidays, to a cafe with friends or a park picnic. Obviously I won't wear them to work or consider myself ~edgy and cool~ but happy feet in comfy shoes was worth it over years of spending summers limping and blistered. I would have considered Tevas for this summer if..summer wasn't cancelled haha.

Same- if I do over 10,000 steps even certain trainers kill me!! I wear mine for work but my only requirement is to wear all black. Not that I can work atm:cry: . I defiantly don’t think I’m ‘trendy’ in them though. Very aware of their granny vibes:D

And Alana or Alana
Just the words ‘edited life’ make me mad. Why are these bloggers constantly pushing this sanitised and unoriginal content/style/life advice. What’s wrong with a little mess, a little chaos and character. Nothing wrong with a minimalist approach (which is my style anyway) but ‘edited’? Bore off Anna.
but the thing is that Lily shows mess, chaos and lots of moany character and people are not happy about it either. It’s very difficult to draw the line between “no mess - little mess perfect to show online - all the mess”.

Sorry for anyone who loves those shoes for comfort, I get that, but why does Anna feature them in outfit photos and videos so much? And in her latest (boring af) outfit video, she featured them in several outfits whilst saying she wasn’t going to go outside. I don’t get that at all, why include these hiking shoes in an outfit is she’s not even leaving the house? Also, why make an outfit video in the first place when all you wear is overpriced tracksuits or jeans and a t-shirt? That’s literally like me filming my “outfits” in lockdown homeoffice: “Hey, so today I’m wearing my yoga pants with a clean t-shirt and a black jumper, and tomorrow I thought I’d pair my yoga pants with, um, another t-shirt in case this one gets dirty, and with a cardigan in case I get cold.”

I can’t lie I wear mine all the time they’re like walking in actual clouds! - she totally just thinks they look trendy though :ROFLMAO:

I'm in the same boat. Invested in a pair of comfortable sandals for all the commute walking I needed to do this summer. I know my sandals don't look chic with my work attire but for the first summer in my life, I'm too comfortable and chafe-free to care. I love them! I didn't know Tevas etc were trendy at all though, good for me I guess LOL.

Buying something for the sake of a trend has always felt a bit bonkers to me, it's all the more visible while watching influencers do it from a safe distance.

Actually, if I didn’t have such horrible feet and toes, I’d be wearing sandals until mid-winter. I’m jealous of anyone who is not afraid to show their bare feet in public, let alone on social media. I hope one day I can be free too! ;)

Bloody hell, there’s a whole host of grandad sandal lovers here 😱 I am shocked to my core!! I walk a lot and have back issues due to some lovely slipped discs and still wouldn’t consider bringing them anywhere near my house let alone my feet 😂

Is it sad that I am writing down your sandal recommendations?
I love comfy shoes, the skin on my feet is so sensitive that it can both blister and get cuts in uncomfortable shoes. Also, the bruises last for weeks, not a good look in summer.

Do any of you have issues with the upper part of the Birkenstocks sandals (the part that is rased lies underneath the toes, my terrible English is showing in this post🙀) ? I have a pair in the flipflop style but had to give them to my mother because the raised part was too uncomfortable.

I have Birkenstock’s as well and I can take them with me to put on to stand at work. But I couldn’t walk to a job in them.
My Tevas gave me blisters the first time I wore them but I hadn’t adjusted the straps. Once I adjusted them I’ve had 0 problems and walk miles in them!

OMG YES! I thought that was only me. Over the past 15 years I would try on Birks every now and then and every time I realise that they are not for me as that raised upper bit rubs the hell out of my toes. Is there maybe a model that doesn’t irritate you in the same way?

Btw, I can’t wear Tevas. The metal/plastic triangle joints hurt my ankles so bad!

I’m still on a hunt for a good comfy pair of sandals. Any recommendations welcome!

absolutely not ever! Shoes are the first thing I notice about a person - these make me die inside! The shoes I wear are comfortable and don’t make me look like I’m lost and looking for my flask and fellow ramblers 😂

Coz influencers often have the idea that in order to work productively at home, you have got to dress up like a boss babe, put on make up
, blow dry their har and pretend that you are in an office. Lol how many of us actually work in our joggers or like me, PJ until 5pm - as long as the work are done! lol

You guys got to try All birds https://www.allbirds.co.uk/ - is still not popular among influencers yet because they have not PR gifted them. OH MY WORD, THEY ARE SO COMFY

Bit of an outlier here perhaps, but I have just discovered crocs.

I now have a pair of house crocs and garden crocs in the classic clog style - I actually like the awkward look of these (although I don't love all colours/patterns/styles). I have also ordered a pair of smarter low wedge sandals from their new collection (if permitted, example here: https://www.crocs.co.uk/p/womens-crocs-brooklyn-low-wedge/206453.html), and I want to get another pair of the classic clogs for errands/coffee/walks etc. They are so comfy, you can put them on and take them off without bending down, and they're on the cheaper side at £30ish. They obviously don't go with all looks/dress codes, but I'm only in casual clothes recently (jeans and t-shirt/jumper/loungewear) and I think they look great! With or without socks 😲 I can accept that they won't be to everyone's taste.

You can also get 'jibbitz' - little pictures/symbols/letters etc that go in the holes in the top to personalise them, which I previously only saw on kids' crocs, but I actually think are so fun, and what other shoes can you do that with so cheaply?! And you can take them off/change them whenever you want! Admittedly I wouldn't have got them if they didn't come free with my last purchase, but I now definitely see the appeal.

#notanad #notspon

I'm evangelising here as I've told some of my friends about them and don't know if they care :ROFLMAO:

Maybe you guys don't care either but I am enjoying the comfy sandal chat and wanted to join in after my recent discovery!

Please let me know if I influence anyone. I edited this post so many times!!

Give Merrell a try! They can be hit or miss but they have a decent range of models wgich can go for city use as well but if you want full comfort, they do make good trekking sandals.
