I have a question - how do people get used to waking up early? I have to be awake at 6:30AM for work and I always feel so tired when I wake up and when I finish work (3PM). It honestly is the only reason that puts me off having children (we will want to start trying in a few years). How do I get used to it? Or how can I stop myself feeling so tired generally? 🥲

What’s your diet like? What time do you go to sleep? 6.30am isn’t particularly early and if you feel knackered at 3pm, that’s a bit concerning. Do you have a particularly physically demanding job?

I’m 99.9% vegan/plant based so probably don’t get enough vitamins/nutrients that I should be consuming but I eat a lot of fruit, vegetables, legumes and some protein. I usually go to sleep around 10PM. I’m on the move constantly for that time (my watch estimates I burn between 2,000-2,500 calories in 8 hours) and work out 3 times a week - usually HIIT/weights for 45 minutes. I also don’t drink any water. I think I’ve answered my own question haven’t I? 🤣 Any advice would be appreciated still 🥲

Call your GP today and see if you can be seen - tell them all your symptoms

Sounds like you aren’t eating enough carbs/protein. You must drink water - or squash even, it’s so important. You sound like you are burning a hell of a lot of calories at work and you are going to the gym ontop of that? You are going to need to seriously up your calorie intake I think. It’s no wonder you feel exhausted!!!!

I’m laughing at myself because now you’ve said it to me I think it’s so obvious as to why I feel so exhausted all the time 🤣 Sometimes you just need someone to give you a reality check to realise! I’m unsure as to how much of everything I should eat. I’m going to order one of those huge water bottles otherwise I won’t stick to it!

I've heard from others that drinking a glass of water right before bed can help them get up in the mornings easier, probably cause they need the toilet 😅 but it seems to work for them

Is your room kept really dark? I keep mine incredible dark so I use one of those alarm lights that gradually start to make the room lighter until its time I need to get up, they are meant to mimic the sun rising an give natural light into the room an when they hit the brightest that's your "alarm" for me getting up when it's dark is so hard an I still feel I could easily sleep another 3 hours but I can feel fine getting up when the rooms nice an bright

I’ll try that 😅 Yes we have blackout blinds and curtains! Is that on an app? I don’t know if it’s best to wake up slowly or to get up really quick 😅 It definitely helps with it being lighter in the morning doesn’t it! Thank you for your suggestions!

No its a actual light, you can probably get them from argos or amazon, they do have the ability to make the alarm sound as well but honestly from when it starts to lighten up to when it goes it's brightest I find I don't need the sound to go off as I start to stir when it comes on and by the time it's hit full light am pretty much awake, it's quite a nice way to wake as it allows you to slowly stir an take your time rather than be sleeping an a alarm goes off an you have to get up suddenly

Look at the NHS eat well guides to advise you on what/how much you should be eating and keep in mind that you will probably need to eat more than is stated because of your job. Don’t go over board with water - even a pint when you get up/with breakfast, another at lunch and another at dinner would be better than nothing. How long have you been vegan for?

thanks for the replies. No I haven’t got a stomach ulcer. I woke up about an hour ago and was sick and have the worst stomach cramps. 🤢
Have you taken a covid test those symptoms have been added to the list of what to look out for .

Maybe it's the after affects I've seen a lot of people with ongoing symptoms and flare ups ..hope you feel better soon.
thank you, I’m definitely still struggling with brain fog it’s horrible ☹

Hi I have just recovered from covid. To be honest it’s like a very mild flu. Achey cold lethargic but mostly it’s the fuzzy brain fog. I couldn’t think straight at all couldn’t work anything out properly that was the worst side effect I can say for the covid. I’m 2 days negative and now have an annoying cough and a runny nose. Definitely negative thougb.

Tattlers!

Anyyone any good tips for removing cigarette smoke from hair?
So basically I work in domiciliary care and I go to different peoples houses throughout the working day.

So today for example the house I visited had been smoking heavily and was still smoking as I entered, though they quickly put it out it was all lingering in the air.

My hair (and uniform) STINKS, I don't want to wash my hair every single day as it causes it to go greasy and also I like to limit washing as my hair is bleached but in good condition.

I've tried perfume but doesn't lift it, not keen on dry shampoo, so bar driving with my head out the window, I don't know what to do 😄

My uniform isn't an issue as it's clean everyday and we are supplied with plenty.

Wear a shower cap or hazmat suit 😂

Do you know I would if I could 😂 I hate the smell and think I have sensory issues so it gets to me more.
Buy one of those plastic shower caps to match your uniform the client will just think it part of the PPE lol , the surgeons wear them 😂

Oh yes I know the ones you mean, I might look into those, I seen them on etsy 😂
Though this is a chain smoking house that is filthy too but some people just live that way, no amount of head coverings is going to cut it, its like walking into a pub in the 80s!
