Fake tan and massages.

I can't possibly go on my single trip next week without a tan and I hate the instant tan (also can't bring more than 100mls in my carry-on) - I want to book a deep muscle massage for when I'm there. Is it ok to put on fake tan (Bondi Sands) the night or 2 nights before? Or is it just not worth my while? I haven't had a massage in years.
Massage first day. Get a cheap £4 St. Moritz at the airport once you’re through security. Use it there and bin what’s left before you come back.
You can click & collect with Boots at the airport.
Just be careful not to tan stain their sheets and get fined.

Has anyone any advice for taking a child on holiday with a different surname to you? We go every year and it hasn’t been a problem I just get all our birth certificates out etc if they ask which they only have once but that’s usually when coming back form Spain this time we’re coming back from Turkey and Iv got in my head the uk border control will be stricter and maybe even the Turkey one will be too.. I mean it’s very obvious he’s British his pale white hair blue eyes (the total opposite of me) we go in 3 weeks and we have no contact with his dad and haven’t since he was born.. am I just over thinking it? Will 2 copies of birth certificates and notice of birth be enough proof?
I travelled in April without the baby’s Dad and got stopped. They said I needed either a copy of the birth certificate or a written permission from Dad, those are the officially accepted ‘proof’ documents. You’ll be fine with a birth cert.

I had a OT come round the week before last to see what adaptations need doing for me in my home
. Housing is coming round next Thursday Anyone knows what to expect? Do they also need to ask questions about my health etc or will they just be looking to see if the adaptations are possible?

Does anyone know where I can get the council food waste bags from? I don’t have the small bin only the big one and I don’t have the white tab to leave out for them.

In our area we can leave a note out on bin day and they’ll drop some around the following week, call the council call centre or we can collect from council offices, libraries, leisure centres and bizarrely, Costa Coffee!

They’ll need to know a bit about your health conditions because it can impact on what you’re trying to do - for example if they know you have something that causes shortness of breath or fatigue they’d likely want to offer adaptations that help minimise this like perching stools so you’re not standing the whole time. They will be assessing to see what your needs are and what they can provide that helps with those needs. After that they’ll look and see if the adaptations they think you need will physically fit and be safe (for example a bath lift won’t fit in all baths but can be really useful for people who want to have a soak and can’t lower themselves in or out of a bath safely).

Thank you, Mostly the same as the OT then really

Ahh sorry I misread your post. I guess the housing people will be making sure the adaptations fit and are practical. The OT should give them recommendations.
OK, that makes sense. Just seeing if the things the OT said I need are feasible.
I am actually pleasantly surprised at quickly things are moving after having to wait so long for an OT visit due to the logback from covid.

Anyone dealt with sinus pain and runny nose post Covid that won’t go away, any tips?? Lemsip menthol clears me up for a while but if I have to drink any more of the stuff I’ll puke. I don’t feel sick I just sound disgusting and feel rude constantly sniffing all the time.

Have you tried anti histamines?

I've never been allergic to anything in my life but post covid I seem to be reacting to an array of things. I take a anti histamine most days now. Also reacted to 2 out of 3 sun creams we took on holiday, brands I'd previously used made my face swell 😔.

seconding antihistamines: i didn’t have these symptoms post covid but i have them with hay fever and antihistamines always help.

reassured to see more people talking about post covid affects tbh, my skin has been horrendous after having it in early july. really sensitive and bruising easily, with paresthesia when i lie down to sleep at night (to the point i thought i had bed bugs). i saw that they just added skin issues to the long covid list but i would really like for it to be over now!

Have you contacted your GP to have your symptoms investigated ? they may be able to offer you something for it .

Has anyone ever cooked a food item from frozen when it should have been defrosted?

I had a veggie sausage roll for lunch yesterday that I've had a couple of times before with no issue. Just heat up in oven. I had one in the freezer and for some reason put it straight in the oven.

About 30 mins later, I felt awful. No diarrhoea or vomiting but this incredible fatigue and bloating. No cramps but vague stomach discomfort and rectal pressure. I still feel rough this morning, very tired, and only just realised that veggie roll should have been throughly defrosted before heating.

Have I given myself food poisoning?

i wouldn’t worry - you can’t get food poisoning from vegetables surely? I always cook “fresh” meat sausages that are half / partly frozen that I’ve freezed and I’ve never had any issues. Apparently you’re not allowed to freese them but I don’t really get why 😂😂😂

OK thanks. Although I'm not sure it has much of the way of vegetables in it 🤣 Tbh, it did look very pale and doughy when I took it out the oven, which I thought was odd as I'd remembered it being golden brown and flakey before.

If it was food poisoning you'd know, I had it a while back an it was absolutely brutal, you're vomiting pratically every hour an nothing stays down an it lasts a good few days like that as well

However anything that says needs defrosted I wouldn't cook from frozen, so it might be a mild bug you have gotten

Yes, I understand how brutal food poisoning is, so I did assume it wouldn't be that, but did wonder, as you say, I could have given myself a bug of some sort.

It's probably something from whatever they use to preserve the food when it's frozen that might have done it, I find oranges an grapes to be quite good when am feeling fatigued, hope you feel better soon

I think it’s probably just your body struggling to digest it because it wasn’t cooked properly. This happened to me once when I accidentally undercooked dry beans. I felt sick and got really exhausted. Second night same thing. Googled it and realised that it was undercooked beans that I hadn’t soaked either

You probably can cook them frozen just make sure they are cooked for longer to make up for it and throughout
