Not really sure what to do, took an expensive coat to Johnson’s, received a text that it’s ready to collect and when they got it out there was a note on the hanger to apologise as they’ve damaged it. I was expecting maybe a bit of bobbling but no they’ve completely destroyed the entire front! It’s not sold by the brand any longer and I’m pretty gutted, I really loved it. They told me that the manager is away, they took the coat back and said to come back next week to discuss, in the meantime I need to try and locate the receipt (there’s no way I still have it although it might be on a bank statement)
What do I do? I’m worried about leaving it there for a week and it gets lost altogether. I’m worried they won’t reimburse the full amount. I’m worried about it all and don’t know what to ask or say or do in the meantime! Has anyone else been through this? Do I contact head office or wait?

It says here they only have to pay the value as it would be now. Can you find any on eBay or Vinted? If it goes missing completely they would still be liable though assuming you have the receipt that you left it there.
They didn’t give me a physical receipt, I asked for one but they said I would receive a code by text for collection instead. With hindsight, I think I’ve been a little silly.
The only coat like it I can find online is terrible quality and badly damaged, selling for just £30, and the coat I took in is in perfect condition and worth far more

You can get skips specifically for plasterboard.
They're much more stringent on on what you can and can't put in these days. Make sure you specify. It'll be cheaper/pricier depending what you're disposing of. It can also depend if it's on the road or a front garden and how long you need it for. We get a week hire but you pay by the day if you go over that.

They’re probably quoting on general domestic waste then. If it’s, say, garden waste, let them know.
They pay to dispose of it based on what it is.
I do Wills at work and we always ask beneficiaries to stay out the room whilst we take instructions on the Will, just so we can be sure there's no undue influence. We ask them to wait in reception whilst we take instructions. If the person wants us to we'll then call the beneficiary in and go over what's been discussed, but only if the person making the Will asks us to. Otherwise we ask that they're not present at the interview.

I need an important document to send off. I have emailed on Monday and had zero response back... I’ve not even had an acknowledgement or I will get back to you? What do I do? Should I copy the original email again and ask again or should I wait out a bit longer (maybe it’s being looked into and until they get an answer I’ll get a response?). I hate stuff like this as 1). I need this information to proceed by a certain deadline 2). I’m overthinking have I stepped out of line or gone to the wrong person in the first instance which would be embarrassing 3). It just feels a bit rude to not even say I don’t know but I’ll find out - like zero response is a bit rude?

Is there a phone number you could call? And just say sorry for calling but you were a little worried Incase the email didn’t get to them as you didn’t receive an acknowledgement from them. You’d appreciate if they could let you know if they got your request and how long roughly it’ll take as you have a deadline to meet?
Hello anyone. Hope this is the right place to post this. Does anyone use domestic cleaning services? I feel very embarrassed about this, but I really struggle to keep my home clean, and so I was looking at hiring a cleaner to come maybe once a month to do some deep cleaning. I'm not sure though - I feel embarrassed and I'm also not sure how normal this would be? Does anyone else regularly use cleaning services? Are they worth it? Is it expensive? Are they discreet or will your entire neighbourhood know you have a team over? Is it safe?

am forever sending emails an never get a word back, my personal rule is if they haven't gotten back within 3 days then I chase them up telling them I hope the last email found them well, so many times I get responses back like sorry I missed it, or sorry it fell amongst other emails etc I'd chase them up tomorrow if there's nothing by today, it could have fallen amongst others an they haven't seen it or went into their spam folder etc, if you have deadlines then you can't wait about till they can be bothered to get back, sometimes others need a reminder
