To top it all off, I now have to pay €5 for my return. What a joke.
Is it the only item you ordered? All stores are required to reimburse postage if the whole order is returned, Zara do it as a standard but most retailers need reminding
---
Also, The Hut Group own Look Fantastic, so might be worth firing a complaint off to them too

Thank you! I posted a review on TrustPilot three hours ago and it’s still pending. We’ll see.

I ordered one other item that was about €10. I didn’t pay any postage for the delivery as my order qualified for free delivery, so why would I pay for a return?! They make no sense.

I’m only returning one item and to be fair, a replacement with an unopened one would have been good for me. However, they didn’t seem to be receptive to this option despite having a ‘refund/replacement’ option in their query list.

I really can’t overlook a skincare package being open and the jar cap being loose on delivery. How can I trust that this product wasn’t touched or used by anyone? The jar doesn’t have a protective foil or film to be peeled before use. It just has a cap. I’m honestly not comfortable putting this on my face.

Is that in Ireland? Because in the UK a lot of shops definitely don't have free returns anymore

Ah okay so they have to refund the original delivery charge but they can still charge for the actual return sending?
If both items are returned and had a delivery charge then it should be reimbursed, most retailers pretend to not know and pocket the fees, so they need a nudge. If any item from the parcel is faulty they should be paying to return it

---
Whilst I’m here, should anyone like the brand Roman please buy from Next and don’t go direct to the brand, their atrocious policies mean you have no exchange or refund when you purchase in store, and they insist that you pay for the return if online. Worst retailer out there for this, however now that Next offers the brand as part of their delivery scheme it’s less tricky (though I avoid them on principle)

Random question, is any here from or go into Blackpool regularly?

We will be going soon and I found a hotel I was thinking of booking a while back, but now I can't find it an can't remember it's name

From what I remember it was quite new so was quite modern inside, it was a black hotel with a small car park an was on the sea front, I can't remember if it was on a corner to a road or not but it looked like it was maybe between central pier an the theme park

It's only one night as we will be moving on in the morning but needed one with a car park an this one seemed reasonable priced as well

Had a look but that's not it, it wasn't a black sign an different coloured building, the whole building looked black like the brickwork too

That one's a nice hotel but am not paying that for one night lol, this one I had originally looked at was around the £65 for the night

I will ring my landlord tomorrow, but I’m wondering if anyone knows if this is a big issue:

My apartment isn’t equipped with a combi-boiler but with one of those old systems where you to have to manually program or turn the hot water on through the control unit.

When I came home from work on Friday, the hot water had been turned on for an hour at that point through automatic programming, but there the water coming through the shower & taps was cold. I thought it was a temporary glitch but I’ve been testing the hot water since then and nothing. I haven’t had any hot water since (48h).

Th boiler is generally noisy when heating the water up but it’s been super quiet since Friday.

The heating seems to be fine however.

Would anyone know if it’s a huge boiler issue or maybe just the valve or something?

Likely something small I would think - the system is heating the radiators meaning the boiler is firing fine. Get onto your landlord and they should send a plumber out.

We’ve changed the bedding together today which is unusual as we normally do it solo whilst the other fights for their life with the toddler. It’s caused a bit of a tiff, so I’m putting it to the internet to decide who is right:

On your duvet there are usually seams running across the length to break it into quarters; should they be horizontal or vertical on the bed?

Might be the way it's designed, the way mines run is vertical, if I put it horizontal on the bed then the duvet would only cover half the bed so mine can only go the one way

Yeah same here they have to be vertical on our double. But on our kiddos beds the single ones are horizontal- so annoying

my kingsize one has to go vertical but my sons single has to go horizontal or they won’t fit the cover. I agree it depends on the brand as i have had kingsize horizontals before
