This is so embarrassing and I cannot believe I’m going to post this lmao. I swear to god I am a functioning adult 😂

Landlord has put in a new oven and taken all the packaging etc. including the instructions so now I don’t know how to use my oven 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ it’s a grill and oven with the hob on top - I can figure out the hobs lol! (in my defence here: the old oven had a different style dial and the oven at my parents I just knew to flick it 1 way forward as it’s been the same since I was a kid but the 1 first picture on this one doesn’t look the same as the first picture on this oven)

can someone please tell me what these mean and which one is the bog standard oven function😂

So my oven is similar to this:

Squiggly line is for the grill

Line at the top and line at the bottom is for heat from both the top and bottom of the oven

Single line at the bottom is heat from just the bottom of the oven

Single line at the top is heat from just the top of the oven (not the grill)

You’re supposed to used them based on what you’re cooking eg pizza should be cooked using just the bottom heat element but I cook everything using the heat from the top and bottom and everything has turned out fine!

The left squiggly line is the grill, the right is the oven. I wouldn’t bother with the top and bottom only heating ones.

ETA: sorry, the other comments hasn’t loaded

You are all superstars thank you!

and thank you for the lack of judgement lmao. I am shamed

This is how mine is, like another poster said, I also cook everything with the little line at the bottom an top an it's been completely fine, if I need the grill I use the top squiggly line but apart from that then it's the one with both lines for everything

Don't be embarrassed, you're not alone! I took my children away for the weekend recently and I could not for the life of me work out how to use the oven in the caravan. There were no instructions anywhere! I flapped and had a mini meltdown because I was worried I'd blow the caravan up if I did it wrong.

I worked it out eventually (40 minutes later 🤦‍♀️) but there was definitely a moment when I was thinking "I am a fully functioning person, why can't I work this out" as I was desperately scouring the Internet for oven manuals 😆.

I am glad I’m not alone lol! I stood there thinking “i am professional woman with a degree and a job. I pay bills. I drive a car. How can I not work out how to use this damn oven ?!”

also hope you enjoyed your holiday!

Glad people have helped you! Can’t believe the landlord took the instructions. Unhelpful 😂
I think they thought they were doing me a favour by getting rid of the packaging which they were but I was like… I’ve got no instructions 😂😂

For anyone who's experiencing their phone screen going black when in landscape mode, take your polarised sunglasses off! 😳

I have a couple of questions about my passport which seem really obvious but just to be on the safe side!
My pp says it was issued 24 Jan/Jan14 and expires 24 Jan/Jan 24- that means it expires on the 24th Jan 2024 right? I'm just confused seeing the number 4 so many times 😅
So if it does indeed expire 24th Jan 2024 would I be okay to go abroad and return on October 18th with the 3 months before expiry rule?

If you’re going somewhere with a 3 month rule then yes.

There was something in the press recently about more than three months iirc so I’d make sure to just check the individual requirements too.

I also read that if its older than 10 years then they won’t accept it at the airport even if it is before the expiry date

Hi. Not sure if this is the right place to post but I am in need of advice. My 15 year old son has recently converted to islam. While I am trying to support his decision (my dad was muslim) the impact its having on his life is causing isolation from friends. They are at the dating stage which is not allowed for my son and the daily 5 prayers mean he is restricted from activities. Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

Hey ladies wondering if anyone has any suggestions… my beautician who does all my waxing/brows/nails has quit her job 😭😭 she is going self employed doing nails at home but too far from me for me to keep going to her so I’ll have my last appt with her on Thursday. I want to bring her a prezzie but is that weird??

At first I was thinking a coffee voucher or something but since she’s working from home
She’s not gonna be in the city centre & there’s nothing really near her…. I know she gets the bus home so don’t want her awkwardly carrying flowers. Any ideas? I know I’m overthinking it 😂

I’d probably go with some nice chocolates
